Visas:

Getting there:
Arrive by air into either Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci airport 32km from city or Ciampino airport 15km from city.
Getting around:
Rome offers 2 metro lines, Line A red line and Line B blue line, and their entrances are indicated by a large red sign marked with an M. There will be signs in both the station and on the train showing the stops along the route. Your ticket will be validated when going through the turnstile. Those with passes can walk through the open lane while showing their pass to the attendant. Check out:Rome Guide
Tipping:
10-15% is normal in cabs and restaurants (where a service charge is usually included in your bill).

Travelling to Rome

Flights
Roma Ciampino Airport
Roma Ciampino airport is located on the Via Appia Nuova, 15 km from the centre of Rome. Taxis are available at the airport. The official taxis are white and identified by the illuminated Taxi sign on the roof. Ensure the meter is running, and check the approximate price of the journey beforehand. Rail - There is a very inexpensive bus available to take passengers to the nearby train station, and passengers then take the train into Rome. Alternatively take a bus to the central train station in Rome. There are also taxis available to take passengers to the railway stations.

Rome Fiumicino Airport
Fiumicino airport is situated 32km from the city. Taxis are available at the airport. Cotral Buses depart every 30 minutes to Anagnina Station of Metro Line A, which takes you on to the city centre. The bus service runs to the railway stations at night as well. Alternatively take the Leonardo Express, a direct train service to Rome's main railway station, Stazione Termini. Follow the signs from the main Arrivals area.The service runs every 30 minutes, between 6.30am and 11.30pm.
