All of the 40 air conditioned rooms in the Duquesa de Cardona have flat screen televisions with satellite channels, safe, minibar and free Wi-Fi internet access. The rooftop plunge pool offers panoramic views of the Montjuic Mountain, the Columbus monument and the Marina right in front of the hotel. The onsite restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine and is open daily serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list, including many Spanish cavas. In the summer the snack and cocktail bar La Brisa del Mar offers tapas, sometimes accompanied by live music.

Hotel and location:

The 4* Duquesa de Cardona is a fantastic luxury boutique hotel housed in a converted 19th century building. The property retains much of the grandeur and style of the original architecture combined with the modern, avant-garde Spanish vanguardista style of décor. Situated opposite the Marina in Barcelona`s bustling Gothic Quarter, the main thoroughfare Las Ramblas can easily be reached in around 7 minutes on foot. Here guests can watch street performances, marvel at the array of living statues or sample local cuisine in one of the many restaurants lining the boulevard. Just a step from the hotel is Maremagnum shopping centre and Barcelona Aquarium.

Getting there:

BY METRO: From El Prat catch the train (RENFE) Cercanías (C1), towards Plaza Catalunya, this leaves every 30 minutes. At Plaza Catalunya transfer to metro line 3 (green) until you reach the stop Drassanes. Walk down La Ramblas towards the Mirador Colom, turn left onto Passeig Colom, walk for approx 4 minutes, the hotel is on the left hand side.

City Tax: From 1st November 2012 the authorities in Barcelona will levy a tourist tax of 1.10 Euro per person per day (maximum 7 day charge) which is payable at the hotel on arrival and not included in the above room rate.
