Hotel and location:

The 3* GBB Aranea is located in the chic Eixample district, an elegant grid network of streets with broad avenues lined with some fabulous modernist buildings. Less than five minutes on foot is Antonio Gaudi`s unfinished masterpiece the Sagrada Familia, an architectural feat and one of the most popular cultural attractions in Barcelona. The busy Passeig de Gracia is also just a quick stroll away, the avenue is famous for its ornate benches and quirky street lights and has fantastic art nouveau and modernist buildings designed by the likes of Gaudi, Pere Falques and Josep Puig I Cadafalch. Considered to be the most important and expensive boulevard in the city, all of the major fashion houses from Gucci to Chanel to Cartier can be found along the avenue. Here you`ll also find some fantastic restaurants and stylish bars. Las Ramblas is easily accessible from the hotel and can be reached on foot or by metro, a journey which takes under 10 minutes.

Getting there:

ON FOOT : from Tetuan Metro Station Line 2 (purple). Exit station and walk up Paseo Sant Joan (away from Arc de Triomf) until you reach Consell de Cent Street (2 streets away) then turn right and continue for two blocks more, where you`ll find the Hotel on the right at number 444. The hotel is approx. 400 metres from this station.
BY RAIL: from El Prat Airport to Plaza Catalunya. Take metro line 1 (red) and disembark at Universitat Station, change to line 2 (purple) and then disembark at Tetuan Station. Follow directions above. The train runs every 30 minutes, between 6:00 am to 23:00pm and takes about 25 minutes. You can pay for the ticket with a Metro Transportation Card, sold in the ticket machines in the same train station.

City Tax: From 1st November 2012 the authorities in Barcelona will levy a tourist tax of 0.65 Euro per person per day (maximum 7 day charge) which is payable at the hotel on arrival and not included in the above room rate.
