"Noisy "
Room overlooked storage area for beer casks. Staff noisy early morning. Companion fell in the bath, receptionist not empathetic or helpful when asked for accident book. Also very patronising.

"very Noisy. Suitable for under 25yrs olds, not for people over 40!"
Clean hotel but extremely basic, better suited for backpacker types. The exterior courtyrad more like a beer festival, although not intimidating, however we feel this should be made more obvious at the time of booking. Locationfair, but nearby streets rather run down. Not a hotel I would consider again, maybe we are rtoo old for this type of hotel, as luxuurious it isn`t. overall generally disappoininted

"Stay elsewhere!"
Extremely poor value for money. I travel a lot on business and this was the most disappointing hotel I`ve ever stayed in. Had to change from my first room because the window which backed onto the car park did not lock and anyone could have slid in. The replacement I was given sounded like there was a disco going on with it with shrieking from the ping pong table below. Third room was bearable but at £95 s night a complete rip off. Rooms were old and musty and beds were extremely uncomfortable. No wifi in rooms or general phone reception. Would have been more Comfortable in the hostel up the road. Also in what felt like a very dodgy end of town / road. Had I not pre paid I would have had no hesitation cancelling and moving to the Holiday Inn up the road. Very disappointing!

"Plumbing problem caused no running water and rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment."
I was booked into the Central hotel for three nights with my husband & 5 month old baby. This hotel might possibly be acceptable for some hen & stag parties on a budget as it is close to the royal mile but does not suit families or anyone that enjoys nice decor & comforts. On our first night there was a plumbing problem which meant no running water, I was unable to wash my baby and couldn`t get feeding bottles cleaned. The manager responded well by moving us to a deluxe double room at the Murrayfield Hotel (owned by same group). The room had just been refurbished & was very impressive. Breakfast was also included for the remaining two mornings & all taxi fares covered as we had been moved further out of the city. Very pleased with managements response. Had a few meals at the Murrayfield Hotel which were lovely and also had friendly staff.

"I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Central Hotel of Edinburgh."
The staff is very very friendly and polite, the are Number One when looking back to all other Hotels in Europe until today! I was very pleased to learn that some staff at the reception speak an excellent, perfect German. It is a very positive welcome to all German speaking tourists. Breakfast was excellent, room & bathroom very clean. I will surely return to Central Hotel one day as, asap as I love Edinburgh and Scotland at most. Just one complain, one single night the music in the restaurant was a little too loud - I hope it was an exception.

Booked at short notice for the Festival. Near to everything, including station. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room clean and adequate. Thought it would be noisy because of Three Sisters bar, but my room was peaceful.
