"Clean room, well serviced and I felt looked after by friendly staff"
I booked a single room for three nights to attend a Conference. The bed was actually a single (you don`t often see this these days!), but it was firm and comfortable, and the room was spacious, with a lovely modern bathroom, It was really well serviced every day. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and I had a good meal in the Restaurant. Breakfast service was sometimes a bit slow, as there seemed to be a shortage of staff at key times, especially when lots of Conference guests turned up at once. Overall though, a very positive experience.

"No refund !!"
Having had to cancel my expensive stay at the Thistle Bristol at 24 hours notice, it is galling to be told then and there that "there will be no refund." I appreciate there might be cancellation fees to an intermediary, and you might not be able to re-book the rooms, but with modern technology computerisation, the fact that the hotel was almost certainly "sold-out" that night, and fair trading principles, I might have expected at least a partial refund of my £250 ? Complete waste, for me, and you probably ended up renting the rooms out twice. I shall not be staying again if I can avoid it.

"First thing we saw was a massive crack across the sink. Not good, not hygienic spoilt the room."
I believe that it should be more clearly stated that the swimming pool and gym are not in the same building, so it is not ideal for an early morning swim.

Good in most respects, but the almost complete lack of warm, let alone hot, water was a definite disadvantage - it`s all very well being subjected to `bracingness` some of the time, but not always!

"Good Central Location"
Room small but adequate for short time. No view. Hotel reception helpful with maps etc. We didn`t have dinner in hotel but came back quite late and staff very obliging in bringing us a snack Breakfast good but hot food only just warm and fried eggs hard. Waiting staff very nice. Car parking £8 per night.
