Although the hotel is a beautiful old building , the housekeeping is disappointing. 
The bathroom had spills that wernt cleaned up, brown smears on the walls. 
The carpet looked unhoovered. 
The curtains were hanging off the tracks.
The Windows need a good clean.
The powder room toilets were a disgrace, toilet cubicles covered in vomit . 
Have to say the reception and bar staff were bright, helpful and friendly.
I do think the hotel is good value for money, but obviously the housekeeping team need to work harder .

"Ruined our well deserved break"
We were looking forward to our well deserved break. Poor hygiene in the loos, flush not working properly, and the most annoying thing of all was LOUDEST MUSIC I had ever heard, blasting all around us within the hotel rooms, above our room - till 1am.  We could not get any peace.

"Excellent!"
Only stayed the one night but will definitely return. Our room was warm, comfortable and clean, maybe the decor is a little dated but it all adds to the charm! The staff are very polite and the evening entertainment was really good. Cant wait until we return..

Room had frosted glass window that couldn`t be opened which made the room very stuffy and dark , there was no towels provided ,the bed was terrible ,ancient mattress well past its best

We had a room with a small window with not outward looking view, i would probably only book this hotel again as a last resort

"No sleep"
The hotel its self looked nice very grand downstairs however the bedroom was another thing.,carpets were gruby,shower was dirty,the mattress was so uncomfortable springs were sticking out,food was really nice but won`t be going back
