"Cold showers, long queue for breakfast "

Hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance of Oxford st, Mayfair etc. However cold showers first morning due to boiler break down. Second issue was the queue for breakfast, this meant a 30 min wait due to hotel being full i.e hotel couldn`t cope! Not impressed for the price you pay!!

"Very comfortable, really friendly staff."

Great hotel, even though they were going through a re-ferb we still found it to be a very good place to stay. One tiny niggle- only one out of three lifts working, probably connected to the work being carried out, otherwise great.

Our toliet in our room didn`t work (which was a newly refurbished room) the resturant for breakfast seemed dirty and very crowed with large que for breakfast. We had to pay to use the dirty swimming pool and the jacuzzi didn`t even have water in it. The hotel was under a refurbishment so I was expecting there to be some disruption but they clearly had far too many guests staying. They should keep the rest of the hotel in a standard of which you would expect it usually to be we wouldn`t stay again even once the refurbish has be done. Felt really let done.

"Fire Alarm in the middle of the Night"

A very bad sleep because there is fire alarm on and off, in the middle of the night Everybody go out in the room because we thought there is a fire. I keep on ringing in the Reception because I want to ask what happen but nobody answer. My kids crying and panicking.

"About the stay"

Really enjoyed our stay we were made to feel very welcome would definitely be back and also recommend to fads ily and friends and well worth the money we paid, and would rate you`d 5 star

"Not relaxing in the slightest!!"

Check in went fine, after that it was fault upon fault. We were in a family room for 4 guests, we had 2 bath towels, 3 tea cups, 2 glasses, the only thing we had 4 of was tea bags. We only had power to one side of the room, including lights. At on point we couldn`t get the lift to reception because the only lift that was stopping on the 5th floor only didn`t stop at reception. But by far the most annoying part was the the fire alarm going off at 03:20am and 6 more times between 07:00am and 08:00am. Overall a very frustrating stay.

"Great stay"

There are renovations going on so a little noisy in the morning but we were Aware of that. The room was small for a family room but lovely and clean. Breakfast was great, the staff were very polite and helpful. The kids loved the pool. A good 10 min walk from Kings Cross but wasn`t too bad as weather was nice. we would recommend this hotel.

Appreciate that hotels do need to refurbish at times but we were put in a room directly below an area that was being renovated. That meant that between 8.45am and 6pm the noise was so loud you could not even have a conversation let alone watch tv or have a relax. We did complain, but it then took 20 minutes for a manager to come and speak to us.

"helpful ,attentive staff"

When we first arrived , we were aware that the hotel was having a refirb and thought that this may effect our stay, it didnt and we had a very enjoyable time at the Holiday Inn Kings Cross. The hotel was very busy as it was half term and this was most noticeable at breakfast time with a queue for tables. The staff were very keen to get people sat quickly and lessen their wait and were very apologetic about the slight delay. It didnt spoil it at all. Breakfast was of a good standard and no complaints from any of our family about the large choice available. I noted how hard the staff worked and how they all helped each other, always with a smile . The room was clean and with a modern contemporary style, we used the sofa bed so was a bit of a squeeze but no problem. Complimentary water, tea,coffee, hot choc, kit kat, fresh orange were an unexpected bonus too. Bathroom fabulous. I would definitely stay again x

Poor service, really slow lifts. Rooms small for 4 people. Only 2 towels for 4 of us and had to ring reception twice for more. Walls extremely thin and could hear next door through connecting door. Not good enough for the money we paid . Breakfast was a joke, staff didn`t have a clue. 1 person delivering 2 slices of toast to the counter every few minutes . People having to sit near steps to reception outside of the restaurant. There wasn`t that much restoration work going on.

"Hotel was lovely!"

Room and reception very nicely refurbished! Had been told about some construction noise but we didn`t hear anything! Room was lovely and spacious. The shower was fantastic and it was all very clean! Only problem we had was the room was stocked for only 2 (towels cups pillows and bed sheets) where we had booked in for 3. The sofa bed wasn`t out when we arrived but they said they pull them out after 6 unless we needed it now. We did need to ring twice for some one to bring the towels and pillows but other than that was a great stay!

As there was construction work goin on. Getting to & from rooms was difficult as only two lifts where working so had a long wait too get up or down as stairs where also not in use. As one was being used by contractors & other you had to go to the basement then across to stairs to ground floor

"Holiday inn kings cross"

The hotel staff were very helpful, as a family the room on the 8th floor was great the kids love the sofa bed. We only stayed for one night but we would definitely use the hotel again

Wonderful hotel undergoing alterations but no discomfort or noise apparent,the rooms very modern and well furnished. Call me old fashioned BUT tea/coffee making facilities I really missed,although COSTA coffee was 2 blocks away i would prefer not to go there.

Nice, clean comfortable hotel. Slight problems due to refurbishments causing diminished bar service but overall comfortable beds, lovely showers and great leisure facilities.

Three generations(grandma,daughter and granddaughter) booked in expecting two beds and a bed settee as stated and agreed upon by us.Our room was upgraded,much to our delight, with the explanation they thought it might be more comfortable for us. The staff were very pleasant and helpfull. The hotel had recently been refurbished to a very high standard,our room was excellent there was nothing we could fault. We decided to eat breakfast in the morning before our days sightseeing and there was plenty of choice and the three of us found it very nice. It wasn`t too far from the nearest tube ,King`s Cross and St.Pancras. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to family and friends.

"Issues...."

I was not dissatisfied with the room , it was clean and modern but the staff there were very miserable and very rude. I don`t see the problem with a smile or a good morning . Manners cost nothing . The staff were quiet rude and abrupt with no customer care or friendliness .... It was rather like I want to go home so don`t bother me attuide .which was a shame . Wasn`t impressed when. Large guy came in the bar at night asking all the people for some money for food. I do believe that a security guard should of been on the doors to prevent this happening!!!

"Weekend break in London"

The hotel is an ideal location. However, beware their is major renovation work going on as the hotel changes from a Holiday Inn Crown Plaza and at weekends works starts on Saturday at )7:00 and Sunday at 09:00. we did though have a refurbished room which was excellent. When work is completed the hotel we believe will be rated excellent.

"Lovely place"

The hotel was lovely. The room clean and comfortable. The only thing was the lifts were very slow, and with renovations going on we had the added cost of parking.
