"A/C broken, room like a sauna. Complained but it wasnt fixed by the time I returned from a function"

I have stayed here before and am concerned that the quality is going downhill. I will probably try once more (I use this hotel for overnight business commitments) but if I have problems then will stop using it.

"Front desk staff OK, breakfast staff unwelcoming and unhelpful. Bed comfy, rooms not user-friendly."

Room 408: TV at right angles to bed, so useless, but paid for in room rate. Bathroom ventilator fan switch position not obvious and difficult to reach. No soap dish. Not obvious how to use bath and shower controls, and learning how to use was not pleasant - got soaking wet while wearing day clothes. Basin stopper not obvious. Basin taps wobbly. Loo holder came off. Loo flushing difficult. Unable to open window, so no fresh air. Air-con noisy, as was the building air-con units outside the window. In short, poorly designed rooms, with emphasis is on so-called chic appearance, instead of on the user, and no instructions provided.

"Lovely Place, Good price"

Hotel is clean and well maintained, good breakfast, 1 block from train station, helpful front desk, affordable price - what more could you want in London!

"Nice decor - bad air con"

Hi, Service ok but coud be happier Aircon in room 407 was very noisy and not very effective. Would have preferred to be able to open the window. For £123/night this was not good value.A good nights sleep is a basic!

"The lack of fresh air in the room, due to the windows being unable to open."

The entire staff where very helpful and polite from Lara the receptionist and the 2 girls in the dining room. The hotel in general was very pleasant, very clean and tidy, will definetly stay there again on our next trip to London. Only complaint would be the air in the bedroom, I have to say that it was probably the hottest couple of day,s so far this year !

"Thank you !"

Only one night`s stay but it was very good. The room was comfortable - and incredibly quiet considering it was at the front and overlooking a very busy main road; sound-insulation excellent! One small but important criticism: should have been told when booking that a £50 deposit was required on arrival. No problem with the deposit on principle (it was returned on departure next morning, no problem!) - just that it wasn`t made clear when booking.

Great hotel, clean and welcoming. The location was ideal for my trip because it was close to Wembley and the city centre. I would most certainly go again and would definitely recommend it.

"deposit had to be paid on arrival - room really small"

the hotel was ok but really far from centre of London, the deposit was a real issue as I was unaware that this was needed prior to arrival, the place itself was ok and there was enough places to eat and drink - Tesco just across the road, the room was very small and for the price would have expected a little more space but overall suited my needs

"Great location and value for money."

Me and my partner used this hotel for a short London getaway. Hotel decor is very modern and well presented, our room was very clean and stylish, although quite small. Included in our package was a continental breakfast which consists of a wide range of choices. The hotel is located on a main road opposite a Starbucks, a Tesco and local pubs. Location for this hotel is fab, you are literally a three minute walk to the Kilburn Underground Station which from there you can get all over London in no time at all. Overall, good value for money and very pleased with the location. Would stay here again.

"Break a leg!"

Anyone staying in room 8 please be aware that as you walk in (in the dark) to put the key card in the lights slot that there are 3 steps down into the room IMMEDIATELY! I walked past the door width to put the key card in and fell down them, nearly twisting my ankle. Quality Matrisse-please make sure you warn people at reception! Also the rooms would hugely benefit from having some coat hooks

Rooms far too small no air conditioning in the bathroom

"Overall very satisfactory"

Close to perfect, the only things that stopped this from being an excellent rating was; the wash basin plug was jammed shut (it`s a flip type), we had to call housekeeping to give us access to the room safe (previous tenant must`ve left it locked) but this should`ve been spotted when the room was cleaned ready for the next guest, the room contained no welcome pack, details like wifi access, meal times are easily forgotten after you check-in, also the fire evacuation instructions and route was far too small to understand or read. Picky I know, other than those little glitches we really enjoyed our stay.

"Our room had no windows."

Very strange. I would not have booked it, if I had known the room did not have any windows. It felt suffocating and I would not stay with you again. Honesty is the best policy. Hotel Decor was chic and surrounding areas were clean.

"Room is just sufficient enough...."

Hotel is good as it is in Central London, zone 2 very close to Paddington station-2stations away by tube. Room is good, just sufficient enough. Little place to roam freely in the room. Vegeterian options are limited in the hotel restaurant. If you get free breakfast, it is an amazing deal as it includes cereals, fruits, breads... Housekeeping does not clean any items brought from restaurant even after repeated complaints at reception.

"Good hotel near underground"

Lovely hotel with plush furnishings and good, friendly service, just around the corner (2 minute walk) from Kilburn Park station on the Bakerloo line. Very nice bathroom, only downside was that the room wasn`t huge.

The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Unfortunately unless you paid for it , what was on offer on tv was very weak. English breakfast very dry and not tasty at all....

"no rooms available upon arrival"

I arrived at the hotel to be informed that they had no rooms for me. I booked 3 rooms for 6 people. I was offered a 1 bedroom apartment on the other side of London which had a double bed and a sofa bed. I`m unsure how this is the same as 3 rooms, 3 bathrooms and privacy. I was offered a car ride to the apartment but i had my car with me so could not accept. I was informed that i could not get a refund and they could not find me anything in the area. I feel completely let down as i had booked and paid for the rooms. I found another hotel but i had to pay for 2 nights as it was an appartment, which cost me over twice what i had paid for at the Maitise. The hotel did not offer any support in this matter or in any form of retribution in my inconvience. I was over 100 miles form home at 7pm with no where to sleep until i organised it myself. Pathetic.

"Good Value, Easily Accessible hotel."

I was able to leave my case securely at the hotel prior to booking in which was very useful. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Good quality accommodation, air conditioning etc no external noise despite main road. I did not have breakfast but the facilities looked good. Stayed 2 nights and will stay again.

"No food avilable"

Checked into hotel at about 9.30pm room was small but comfortable, View from the window was the roof which was full of old planks of wood. Not a good sight for a 4 star hotel, Then rang down for room service at 10pm to be told no food avilable but tescos was open across the road. We were not notified on check in that no food was availble and it clearly stated on hotel information in the room that food was avilable unto 10.30pm then sandwiches after that time.Breakfast was nice but served on chipped crocery,

"Many other hotels in the London area offer better quality at a cheaper price."

Overpriced, we had a tiny room, no bath, its in Kilburn not Maida Vale as the website suggests. Staff were friendly but lacked the professionalism i would expect from 4 star accommodation; didn`t seem to know that i had payed in advance, when i asked them to look at the paperwork they said "its okay, we trust you". We also added a full english breakfast to our booking; we we`re given beef sausages and turkey rashers, this needs to be made clear when booking especially at the extra cost of £17 that it is not a proper full english otherwise we would not have booked a breakfast. Would not stay here again unless offered at a substantially lower cost. Is it really 4 star?

"Very Clean and Tidy Hotel - However...... PROBLEMS"

Hotel Bar closed on Friday and Saturday night at 11pm when signs clearly stated that its open until 2am for Hotel residents, excuse from hotel .... not enough residents in bar to remain open ! If you are looking for a Hotel with a good nightly atmosphere and a drink before you go to bed, this is not the one. As the Hotel is a little out of central london, after 11pm its very hard to get a drink anywhere within walking distance. Rooms were very clean and tidy (Shower excellent) As Air conditioning wasn`t very good, in warm weather the rooms get extremely hot and it doesn`t help when you can`t open any windows as they are locked sealed by Hotel. Rooms also VERY small, sizes different in each room.... compared to other London hotels. On a positive though, Kilburn Park Tube Station is around 200yds away and you are in Oxford Street / Central London in 10 / 15 mins.

"a real find!"

This hotel was perfectly placed for me as I`m in between Ealing and Wembley - but it`s very close to Kilburn Park tube station, so getting into town is very quick. I was surprised by the quality of this place - they`ve really made an effort and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. nice room, great designer touches, quiet and warm. This is great quality for the price paid - many thanks to the staff!

"Initial presentation is good but ......"

Reception staff was helpful at the hotel though repeated calls before check in as we could not locate the hotel, were never answered. After 1st night - room was still not tidied when we returned at 2 pm which ends up waiting in lounge and spending money on coffee whilst waiting. Door lock was not working and was given a vip room. It felt nice initially but was alarmed by the falling and chipping of a floor tile on the side of the bath. Overall we did have quite a good stay apart from the mishaps.
