"Really small room large deposit`s!"
They add an extra 50 lb. a night to your bill for expenses you haven`t even occurred yet! And there rooms are extremely small.
Heating was not working an had to request an additional portable heater. Not happy with the car park situation as the attender did not specify why keys had to be taken from me, then my car was moved without permission. Also the hotel did not look anything like it does on the website
the staff were so friendly and we very helpful when my reservation had not been put through properly due to the travel agent. Was always greeted with a friendly manner. rooms were cleaned immaculate everyday beds were very comfortable and inhouse food was delicious. my stay her was enjoyed very much.
"Very nice hotel, wonderful service"
"Woudn`t have paid full price!"
We booked a twin room for one night and thank goodness as we may have gone stir crazy with the size of the room for any longer. Although it had two beds, they were in a double bed alcove and could not be separated. Our room was at the back of the hotel, where they are extending! The view was of that new extension without walls- and a cement slab across the window so we couldn`t escape down the new stairs! All that said, check in and out was smooth and the room/public areas were clean and tidy. Not 4 star though.
Is looking very tired, but staff are very pleasant and helpful
Good value at less than £100.00 for a saturday night.Good location next to the tube station.Comfy bed.Nice friendly & efficient staff. Quick check in & out.
"Room was rather small and decorations a bit tired. But all clean and functional."
"Room small and basic despite being told we had been given a complimentary upgrade. Bar prives extort"
Most factors were fine. In fact, in most cases and any other time I might have had a pleasant stay. This time, however, we were put in two rooms in an area of the hotel where they were doing Refurbishment in rooms nearby. All day when we arrived, and from 8am the next morning, an excrutiating drilling noise pounded through the corridor. Apparently the hotel staff are not privy to the whereabouts of the constructtion work in their own hotel!!! One of my party was an 8 month pregnant lady, I expected more consideration, considering I informed the hotel of this months prior to arrival! Will not be staying there again.
Visit London on a regular basis and my usual accommodation was flly booked so iI was pleased to try a new venue. On arrival (approx 1.45) there were no rooms ready which I totally understood. Asked to wait 15 minutes which I did but there was no follow up after 30 minutes I approached Check-in again and room was ready. There was no hot water in sink tap or shower. Went down to reception to be told there was a problem with the boiler, I asked why I had not been told this when checking in. Offered complimentary breakfast which I did not avail of. The water returned in bath but sink hot tap did not work at all throughout my stay. Was not at any time told that building works were being carried outside room window which is o.k. during working hours if you know about it but to suddenly hear voices and drilling outside your window is offputting. The location of the hotel is superb and room lovely just felt uninformed.
"no hot water during a big chill (9thDec.)"
long queue to check in, very slow service, unhappy staff - cold! Poor hotel relative to price
"Please get the Kensington Close Hotel Management to ring me urgently on 01242 604305"
"snugroom and very poor water pressure"
this was definately the smallest hotel room i have ever stayed in ,but the room was clean and comfortable .it took half and hour to fill the bath .wine list a bit basic .
"The shower was tepid - not very nice. otherwise what we expected. Brilliant location."
The hotel was well located to tube station. We had a few issues, being considering it was a very cold w/end the heating at the hotel was not what it should be. We also had to take two cold morning showers during our stay due to some plumbing problems at the hotel. This I can assure you was not a welcoming experience!!!! We did complain but were told due to the fact that we had booked and payed through you that they were unable to refund us with any money, of which we were not happy. Otherwise I guess we had no complaints.
"VERY VERY PLEASED WITH STAFF HELPFULNESS and also cleanliness of room"
I stayed at this hotel with my two children last night, one of whom is in a wheelchair. The staff could not have been more helpful. We had booked for a triple room but were upgraded to an Executive Triple Room on arrival which was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good too. The only problem I had was that there was only tepid water for a bath or shower in the morning - I was offered for someone to come to my room and help though but I didn`t have time for that. Also, the hotel is not very well laid out for wheelchairs, however, as the staff were so very helpful it made it all perfectly manageable. Thank-you for a wonderful stay. Special thanks to John the Concierge - and others too but I don`t know their names :)
Super stay with excellent staff and ameneties. Thankyou
I am not impressed with this hotel. I have been in hotels in London that are a lot cheaper and provide a much better service. I found the room very cold as the heating was poor and the fact that you don`t have heating on the corridors make it even worst. Also, the bathrooms are very poorly provided with soaps, shampoos, etc. I will never be back to this hotel and I will never recommend it as it is not worth to spend your money in it.
"Original room - standard double far too small - had to pay £50 per night to upgrade to a Club room!"
Overall service was good but not happy to have to pay £200 per night for an average size room!
"bedroom could have been better"
"Perfect hotel for visiting London!"
The location is perfect..tube just round the corner, and the area is away from the very busy parts of London, making a more pleasant stay, but still within easy reach of everywhere on the tube. The service is excellent. All staff are polite and courteous, the rooms were cleaned discreetly and you didn`t feel you had to hurry up and get out so they could clean. The breakfast is fantastic! A great range to choose from and the cooked food was hot and freshly cooked. We used the bar a couple of times and once again it was excellent, with a nice atmosphere. This was our 2nd visit to this hotel, and we will be using it again, and would definitely recommend it!
Freindly and efficient staff, poor rooms and furnishings falling apart-ther was repair work going on that made a racket. Whole hotel had a musty smell. Needs full redecoration
"Good location but the room didn`t live up to my expectations - looked tired and shower didn`t work."
"Room was adequate"
Good hotel for the area and close to the Tube and fashion and food shops
"Problems - Patchy wi-fi reception, disruptive rennovations that were not advised at time of booking"
I think the guys working in the car park during the renovations should be given hearing protection - on a construction site or mine site this would be standard. The decibel levels and exposure periods would likely not be considered safe. Your reception staff are too busy to be able to to their job effectively - they need more staff on duty
"Mix up with requested room bookings which was sorted out after a delay"
"Not impressed with Kensington Close"
Arrived at the Hotel and on first impressions the lobby looked well. We were given a room on floor 5 at the rear of the building room number 569. Arrived at room and opened door only to find the smallest double room I have ever seen. This room should only have been a single. The room was that small the double bed was pushed against the wall meaning I had to climb across the bed to get in. Once in bed and the TV turned off all we could hear were the aircon units running from the hotel across the road. Got to sleep and was woken at 8am to the sound of building work. Was not told this when we arrived. For a 4star hotel at £150 a night I was not impressed. Hopefully after the work is completed the standards will increase.
"Good location that is all............"
Noisy with builders early in the morning. The bar is horrible unless you are a sports fan. It needs a tasteful wine bar without TV`s inside. For a 4 star hotel I was disopointed, the rooms are very small, I stayed at travel lodge and that was better.
"Supposed to be 4 star, really only a 3 star "
My partner and myself were really looking forward to staying here having read generally good reviews about the hotel. However, advertised as a spa hotel, where you would have thought the swimming pool and spa was part of the hotel and inclusive of room rate. However, it is a separate health club charging hotel guests £8 each for use. This was added to our hotel bill to be paid upon check out. The spa was generally uninspiring and the hotel rooms were very dated. Small 14 inch tv in room, very soft beds which hurt my back chronic. Also had a leaky shower that drenched the floor making it difficult to shower. These are not 4 star rooms. I have stayed in hotels that range from 3 star to 5 star and I wouldn`t recommend this hotel for those seeking a 4 star experience. They will be disapoointed.
"Clean, well presented hotel - shame about the building site next door."
Arrived at mid afternoon, easy to find from tube station, friendly reception staff. Room was clean, tidy, little on the small side but adequate for a city break. Was immediatley clear there were building works going on just outside our room window, which we were further reminded of at 8am the following morning and every morning of our stay. Fine after 5 when work stopped. Location is ideal to jump on the tube or bus. Would consider a stay again as the price is reasonable for london.
Will definately return to this hotel when next in London.
"Very good overall"
Unfortunately, had to pay extra to use pool, not mentioned in initial transaction..a bit of a shame!
"room was okay, small but big enough. Bathroom looked tired and WC barely had the effort to flush!! "
Room was fine for the money, staff efficient, building works didn`t start before 8.00 which was good. Would consider staying again on a short break but for a longer holiday would want more spacious accommodation. Food typically overpriced and thereore avoided.
"Thedoorkeydidn`t work-wewereleftstandingoutsideourroomforhalfan hourTWICE,STAFFWEREUNHELPFULANDRUDEa"
Just to expand a little, the room was so small, it was impossible to walk around the bed! Building works associated with the hotel commenced at 8am on Saturday morning, including pile driving! Would NEVER stay in this hotel again. When we complained, we were told that the hotel policy is to give no refunds whatever the circumstances. Julie Spencer Room 328
"Pleasant enough hotel but poor breakfast with terrible coffee and a hair on the mushrooms"
"very good location for Royal Albert Hall "
Comfortable Stay, swimming Pool and spa is extra, would have prefered an all in price
"Hotel ok but should have been warned about ongoing building work, very noisy power drills from 8am "
rooms ok but stay spoiled by banging and drilling from 8am. Spoiled the stay. We should have been warned of this beforehand. Would not have stayed if we knew this.
"we enjoyed our stay very much, service and staff was very good and very helpful."
we would like too stay longer, but travelling up from Cornwall by car, i would like too think you would make the car parking a little more attractive too customers who would like too stay longer say 4 or 5 days, your car park attendant was especially helpful and friendly a credit too your hotel.
"Had to cancel last minute. Full charge 24 hr cnclatn policy lost me £140. will consider in future"
