History of Mamma Mia! The Party Mamma Mia! The party first opened in Stockholm, Sweden, in January 2016. Since then the show has been playing to full houses every night. The show was created by ABBA founding member Bjorn Ulvaeus. Following the success of Mamma Mia! The Musical and witnessing the audience's exuberance for ABBA's songs and the joy of participation, Bjorn masterminded the fabulous Mamma Mia! The Party. The Party has now come to The O2 in London so don't miss out!
