The Show
All aboard! After spectacular sold-out runs at London's Waterloo Station, York National Railway Museum and the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada, Mike Kenny's stunning stage adaptation of E Nesbit's classic novel The Railway Children pulls into London King's Cross Station.

Set in a brand new, purpose built 1,000 seat venue, featuring a stage built around a real railway track and a 60-tonne vintage locomotive train, the show is sure to delight and amaze the whole family.

The charming tale tells the story of Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis, whose lives change dramatically when their father is taken away by two mysterious men. They move from London to a cottage in the Yorkshire countryside with their mother, where they discover the local railway and try to determine the fate of their father. Join them as they embark on an adventure of a lifetime as they meet new friends such as the station master and Mr Perks in the story of how they became The Railway Children.

Please note: The Theater will not admit children under 2 years, and all children over 2 years need their own ticket. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The Railway Children is a book by Edith Nesbit that was originally published in the London magazine during 1905, and later published the following year in book form. It has been adapted for the screen several times since then, and has now been turned into an award-winning stage production.

Originally staged by York Theatre Royal in partnership with the National Railway Museum in 2008, the show ran for two summers to a packed out audience. 2010 saw the show transferred to Waterloo Station, where it continued to play to a sold out house in the former Eurostar terminal, before crossing the Atlantic and opening in Toronto, Canada in 2011 at the world famous CN Tower.

The show has now returned to London, in its new home of King's Cross Station where it continues to enchant and entertain audiences of all ages.

"Excellent show, very clever and unique. Would recommend it to anyone."

"Superb show! Storyline exactly as in the film - can`t wait to see the film "Live on Stage""8/3/2016

"I have always loved The Railway Children films so had to see this wonderful story on stage. For some reason I did not think it would have the same emotional effect as the films. How wrong I was: the acting was superb which made the characters even more believable. I cried when the children`s mother was ill, I cried at Mr Perk`s birthday tea, I cried when they found the Russian author`s family and of course I cried when the steam cleared and Bobby`s Daddy was there. I may have cried a lot but it was a good cry because of a magical story. The setting of the theatre just added to the atmosphere and my daughter and I took so many pictures of us in the refreshment area. The steam train was brilliant (we would have liked to have been able to go aboard after the performance) and the stage hands pushing and pulling the set were just amazing. My daughter works in the theatre and was impressed with everything about the show. The whole thing was just amazing."
