Best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's monster series, Game of Thrones, Emilia Clark stars in this contemporary production of Chekhov's masterpiece, running from 11 March. A young woman is desperate for fame and a way out. A young man is pining after the woman of his dreams. A successful writer longs for a sense of achievement. An actress wants to fight the changing of the times. In an isolated home in the countryside where dreams are in tatters, hopes dashed, hearts broken and there is nowhere left to turn, the only option is to turn on each other. Following on from their critically acclaimed, five-star production of Cyrano de Bergerac, the Jamie Lloyd Company's second show in the Playhouse Season sees Anya Reiss propel Chekhov's tale of ambition, love, loneliness and fame into the 21st Century.

History of The Seagull
The Seagull is a classic of the theatre written by Russian playwright, Anton Chekhov in 1895. It is the first of Chekhov's 4 celebrated plays. There are 4 leading characters and the play follows the romantic and creative confrontations between these principals; the writer Boris Trigorin, Nina played by Emilia Clarke, the fading actress Irina and her son Konstantin Treplev.
