The Song Project returns in 2022 with nine performances in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at the Royal Court, followed by performances at Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (ITA) later in the year.

A mix of a gig and theatre, The Song Project is a collection of songs by five playwrights exploring the hopes and anxieties of life, performed live by one Europe’s most exciting artists, Wende and a company of musicians.

 

From dark, thrashing, furious songs exploring loss of identity, rage, terror and alienation; to joyous and defiant anthems about conquering fear, love, sex, hope and motherhood; each song stands alone in its own world like a first-person confessional revelation.

Together the collection journeys through fear, angst and loneliness, to acceptance, hope and joy as one exhilarating song cycle.
