The Prince Edward Theatre is a West End theatre situated on Old Compton Street, just north of Leicester Square in the heart of London`s Soho. The theatre, which has a capacity of 1,681, presented the world première of the musical Evita on 21 June 1978. The ABBA musical, Mamma Mia also premièred here on 6 April 1999 and ran for 5 years at the Prince Edward Theatre. The theatre also hosted Mary Poppins before the current hit, Jersey Boys commenced in March 2008.
