The 4* Thistle Express Swindon is a modern hotel in Swindon City Centre, ideal for business travellers it is close to the towns commercial quarter and 8 minutes walk from the railway station. Swindon is also on the railway mainline to London, approximately 50 minutes and Bristol approximately 30 minutes. The Old Town has plenty of independent shops and boutiques, contrasting with the modern Designer Outlet in the restored railway works. As well as shopping visitors can also visit STEAM - The museum of Great Western Railway.
Getting there:
BY ROAD: Heading east on the M4 take the exit at Junction 16 for Swindon(W)Royal Wooton Bassett/Calne. At Spittleborough Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Great Western Way/A3102. After 0.4 miles at Blagrove, take the 2nd exit and stay on Great Western Way/A3102. After 1.5 miles at Mannington Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Wootton Bassett Rd/A3102 and then at the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto Westcott Pl/B4289. After 0.3 miles at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Faringdon Rd. This road turns right and becomes Farnsby Street, continue for 0.2 miles and turn left onto Commercial Rd. Continue onto Regent Circus and then onto Princes St. Turn left onto Gordon Rd and then right onto Islington St. Almost immediately turn left onto Fleming Way and the hotel will be on the left.
BY TRAIN: From Swindon Railway Station walk south-east towards Station Rd and continue on Wellington St and make a slight right at Manchester Rd. Turn right onto The Parade and then right again towards Fleming Way. Turn right again towards Fleming Way and then right onto Fleming Way and the hotel will be on the right.
