" | | | | upon arrival we were offered a glass of champagne which was nice. the hotel was spotless and the staff very friendly. it`s location was fab only a 5min walk to la rambla. the room was a bit on the small side but modern but loved the shower a real treat to stand under after a few hours walk. overall would give it a 9 as we went in nov so did not need the pool but would have been a bit disappointed if in the summer as it was a bit small. But would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

The hotel was exceptionally clean - our room was cleaned each day with the beds being made up to a high standard. The staff were extremely courteous and pleasant, eager to make our stay as pleasureable as possible. The nearest Metro stop was located 2 blocks away at Urquinanona. I would recommend the hotel highly.

We will be returning for a longer stay, thank you Gran Via 678 for making our short stay so enjoyable.

Warm and helpful overall.The room is comfortable but I have to request for the room kettle and comlimentary drinks as they were missed out from theprevious tidying by the room maid. Similarly the TV needed adjustment as the reception was poor. This was a missed opportunity to present this hotel at its best always.Breakfast was good at 10 euros compared to the prices at the local shops. I would return to this hotel again and right close to La Rambla.

Situated within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. Free complimentary drinks throughout our stay. Friendly staff fluent in several languages - very useful for those of us embarrasingly barely adequate in one! Very clean. Nice pool area. Excellent hotel - especially recommend to a couple. | Guest rating: | 23/8/2010 | | "Gran Via 678" | | | | Just returned from my first visit to Barcelona, the hotel was just a short walk from the bus station and only 5mins walk from Catalunya Square/ Las Ramblas. The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke good english. The rooms are kept immaculately clean, with exellent bathroom facilities. The pool is a little on the small side but is great for cooling down in. We decided to have breakfast in the small cafes that surround the hotel rather than the hotel itself and this seamed to be a more cost effective option. Overall the hotel is in an exellent location, with good quality rooms and exellent staff, looking forward to returning next year.

The desk staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and efficient. The public areas were tastefully decorated and well designed. Our room was generous in size with a modern contemporary feel. However, the spacious well equiped bathroom was encased in walls of partially frosted glass, which some may find a little too revealing. Breakfast was well arranged with a good choice of cooked and uncooked items. I would certainly return to this hotel for both its amenities and its central location.

However a double room consisted of 2 single beds together, the soft drinks are expensive as its about 4euros for 200ml of coke. Breakfast is average, the bacon is fried and is very greasy and the sausages are frankfurts that are chopped... the continental breakfast choice is good.

Modern rooms, some glitches with drainage in shower and window not closing. Very comfortable beds.Main issue - frosted glass between bathroom and bed area - you need to know your travelling companion VERY well and if someone needs the bathroom in the night and turns the light on - it is sure to wake the other up as it is so bright.

The hotel is in a good location to explore Barcelona with the metro close by and easy to access. Definately go back there.
