The Matchani Gran is a delightful 18th Century working farm, offering bed and breakfast accommodation at excellent rates. A pleasant 15 minute stroll away is the quaint village of San Climent where you will find a chemist, several bars (including a casino bar) and some intimate restaurants. Mahon, the capital of Majorca, and the surrounding area is home to a wealth of beautiful Georgian architecture due to the island being occupied by the British in centuries past. The Golden Farm manor house is considered a must see, as reportedly Admiral Nelson tucked himself away here with his mistress, Emma Hamilton. The house overlooks the lovely harbour in the north of the town and it is here he chose to write `Sketches of My Life`, his autobiography. Mahon can easily be reached in around 10 minutes by car and the nearest beach is just a 3 minute drive from the B&B. After a day seeing the sights guests can relax around the solar heated swimming pool. More Info
