"Bath badly chipped carpet ripped exposing metal grips"
Breakfast room has far too many tables in it and food offered is inferior to any hotel I have stayed inStaff seem uninterested in problems you haveRooms were clean but in desperate need of renovation

"Incompetent staff"
After being sent to the wrong room with someone else`s belongings already in it, second room we were allocated had a double bed and something which could be loosely termed as a put-u-up which my 3 years son would have struggled in in a broom closet for 3 adult women we were finally allocated a suitable room. Breakfast was adequate but reception staff were un helpful

"Very pleasant staff at reception. Efficient and thorough. Comfy bed."
The shower did not work. Cooked buffet breakfast was not all that good - scrambled egg was rubbery, potato thingies(forgotten what they are called) were warm and stale, poor quality sausages.

"Great for a 3 start hotel! Clean rooms and kind managers. The breakfast was not so good."

"The decor overall was a bit tired looking"

"Apart from the room size I was disapointed with my stay at Grosvenor"
Nice large room, clean towels and bedding. However room very noisy had secondary glazing with one panel missing so my wife could not sleep. Toilet system inspection cover in wall open which could be dangerous if have children. Bathroom floor tiles broken, no sky tv as standard and cannot see TV when lying down on bed because stand is so low, no safe in room, carpet torn and could be dangerous. Breakfast, very disappointed it is advertised full English but one day you get bacon and the next day you get sausage that`s not full English, had to wait 5 minutes for the scrambled egg and the beans did not arrive until 15 minutes later which is when I had finished my breakfast. I asked the staff for latte from the machine but came with sugar in it so could not drink it. Compared to other Hotels which are less than quarter of the price this was extremely disappointing and made me ashamed to be British

Very clean and warm.Breakfasts were excellent ,the breakfast staff very attentive.the hotel building is very faded and in great need of some TLC....The porch on the street is VERY OFFPUTTING and makes the whole place look uninviting...I am SURE this must discourage many people from the hotel.....just a good clean and a good light would help....the blue and white hotel name makes the place look more like a hostel for the homeless than what is,in fact quite a good value hotel.

"Dangerous shower"
Had the worst shower ever going from scalding hot to ice cold. Not enjoyable.

"Really good experience spoilt by a cup of tea!"
We had a great stay at the Grovenor Kensington on Fri evening 11th Feb. Room and service fine. Breakfast was also fine but spoilt by tepid tea and yukky coffee from a machine! Please get proper tea pots and coffee pots for breakfast! Also some better toasters and waiter help on what was on offer - confused by offer of breakfast upgrade as to what we were allowed to have.Otherwise a good hotel stay.

"clean warm comfortable"
A little dated but good service central and a good choice for breakfast thought the hot food suffered from being buffet style

"Good value for money for a short city break"
Location great for museums, Science, Natural History and V&A. Very close to underground (South Kensington) and bank nearby. No in-house restuarant for food in the evening, but ample restuarants in area. Breakfast included and good choice of hot and cold foods. Suspected Mocha coffee in cappachino chute of coffee machine. Tables in Breakfast room somewhat cramped. Staff friendly and helpful.TV reception very poor in a moderate wind! Definitely warrents 3* rating. Adequate. Comfortable, warm and rooms airy with good size. En suite included bath and shower. Would stay there again.

"Quite reasonable"
The room we had was quite spacious and fairly well furnished, nice and warm in spite of the cold weather. The breakfast was good and plentiful (9out of 10). Our only niggles really were no iron in room, (Ithink there was supposed to be), no info in rooms regarding check out times and breakfast times etc; Bathroom taps and decor needed a bit of TLC. The place generally needs some TLC but I guess it`s not bad for the price in London. Would stey there again if we could`nt find somewhere nicer for a similar price. Well situated for museums and R.A.Hall and OK for most places as well.

"Grosvenor Kensington"
The hotel is really well located for secure carparking and the tube. The staff were very helpful and were able to accomodate my room requests with out any trouble.I think the hotel bedrooms could do with a little spruce up, but they were clean just a little tired. However I would definately stay here again for a weekend.

"Nice hotel, reasonably priced and a good base."
It was a good hotel which is a minute walk away from South Kensington tube station. It`s also minutes away from the Natural History, Science and V+A Museums. Great location near to plenty of bars and restaurants. I had a room on the bottom floor which was very big with a huge bed and nice bathroom and toilet. The hotel has a bar which is a nice place to chill out and breakfast was reasonable but no bacon which i always find annoying. Overall i enjoyed my one night and would definitely stay again and for longer.

"Knock on the door at 9.30 a.m. to tell us that we were leaving that day and had to be out of the roo"
breakfast was strange with no tea provided only coffee. I asked for tea and was brought a huge thermos . they did provide nice fruit but the cereals in dispensers were unrecognisable. The staff were pleasant and the room was very clean.

"Great Hotel for price. clean, with friendly helpful staff."
Hotel in walking distance of knightsbride, Harrods ,Hyde park, Earls court and museums. Near to tube station with easy links to Heathrow airport and central London and all the attractions. Would not hesitate to stay here again or recomend to a friend. Buffet style Breakfast, all you can eat set us up for the day ahead. Recommend buying an Oyster card to save time and money on tube travel.

"bedroom very run down and dated carpet dirty, needs lifted and replaced imin real need of decoration"
very good location needs investment to bring bedrooms up to acceptable standard for the price I paid reasonable value for money however will consider paying more for a better hotel on my next visit to London

"Good; comfortable; clean; close to museums etc as stated."
Nice breakfast and welcoming dining-room staff.Polite, though `off-hand` reception staff. (They returned immediately to their own conversation after booking me in, although I had one or two further questions to ask.)

"Name and location the best parts"
Staff very friendly and welcoming. No problems at all.Rooms (at least ours (117) )- rather old and tired, the bath looked very old and uninviting, very squeaky floorboards in the room. Worst: when we came back from the concert at the Rpyal ALbert Hall (reason for staying) at 10.45 Sunday evening and we wantd a night-cap in the bar, the bar was closed. "Not open on Sundays" (!) we were told. Yesterday, Monday, coming back at 2.30pm before leaving, we were told the bar did not open until 4pm. This is not on for a hotel "in the middle of London". In short: the whole building is in dire need of retoration/modernisation, and so is the running of it, it seems.

"Pleasant Stay."
Chose this hotel for it`s location and we were not disappointed ! 100 meters from South Kensington tube station, 20 minutes walk to the Royal Albert Hall and handy for Knightsbridge etc. The hotel itself is a little tired with slow lifts and out of date decore, but the room was clean as was the bed linen and bathroom. The breakfast was fine and plenty of variety, but most of all the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and made our stay a good one.

"good location"
in a good location very central, staff helpful, rooms a little worn but comfortable, breakfast ok for 1 night would be as accommodating if had been staying for longer

"Room was good but had a few problems"
Few things could have been better. Bath had crack, hand basin tap leaked all night. The room bin was not emptied from first day.Breakfast was good, though hot food served with cold plates.TV reception and choice of channels poor

"The Hotel was too hot both in the bedroom and breakfast room , very poor circulation of air ."
Otherwise everything else was fine , staff especially very good all round . Regards and best wishes .

"Gr8t location walking distance to 3 museums and less than 5minutes walk from tube station "
Lovely grand entrance. We asked for a larger double - the original being too cramped - and we were willingly upgraded at no charge. Breakfast was plentiful with many choices - but didn`t try the full english breakfast. Very good value for money although I would need a lot of convincing to pay the full rack rate particularly with the first room offered.

Our room was on the small side and a bit `tired` however comfortable enough. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet very good. The small gym is also a plus.

"Excellent value for money."
Convenient easy to find close to tube station. Excellent value for money with helpful friendly staff though the budget price is reflected in the appearance in places of a building in need of refurbishment.

"Good Location and less than minute from tube station. Ideal for short break in London "
Hotel was looking tired and could do with being brought up to date. Not the most comfortable bed and pillows definately needed renewing. Got excited when I saw we had a Jacuzzi bath only to discover it didn`t work. However, room was a reasonable size and clean. Breakfast was adequate and staff pleasant. We paid a very reasonable price for this hotel with Hotel Direct compared with other websites. An enjoyable stay.
