"comfortable but a little shabby. Good ambiance though."

Staff attitude on second morning was not as positive as the first morning. There was no orange juice and we both had to ask for larger plates for the breakfast as there were only side plates there. the hotel was comfortable and clean and had a lovely ambiance.

"Not as Good as Expected but OK"

Hotel Elizabeth looked better online than in person. It was not bad for the price I suppose. The place was clean and the staff were very nice. Our only small issue is that the decor is very dated and not nearly as luxurious as the photos would suggest. There is an elevator but it is crazy small and not for the claustrophobic! Breakfast was lovely though and the staff were very helpful and nice.

"Such a shame "

Bathroom/shower had mould in tile grout Shower did not work properly No hot water in the morning for a shower or shaveOnly two bath towels (no hand towelsRoom was dated and furniture in need of repair/replacement No milk for tea coffee making facilitiesMaid woke us at 08:15 trying to get in our roomBreakfast was very poorBreakfast seating are not sufficient for the size of hotel Ten plus people waiting to go into breakfast for over thirty minutes Had to ask three times to replenish different food/drinks on different occasions Staff were very abrupt and unhelpful at breakfast and I felt I was an inconvenience to them.I am very dissatisfied and disappointed with the accommodation and food it spoilt the why experience Needless to say I will not be using your company to book any future theatre trips.

"This is not a four star hotel!!"

We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the hotel. It was advertised as a four star - it was a two star at best. I would suggest that Hotel Direct remove them from their database, especially for theatre breaks, as the hotel in nowhere near the theatre district. The hotel was stuck in the eighties in every which way, with very tired décor. It is in great need of refurbishment and improvement in standards. Although we booked and paid for breakfast - it looked extremely unappetising, so chose to go elsewhere and pay extra. I would recommend going on Trip Advisor to read the reviews - we mistakenly didn`t until after the event. If we had, we would never have booked!!

"The front staff could do with basic customer care training!!!"

Good points first ...Food was good, room clean and bed comfortable.Now the negative points...The reception lady unhelpful & visibly stressed! no eye contact when addressing customers & quick to pass you on to someone else! TV not working in the room,kettle kept turning itself on(reported this but reception didn`t seem bothered) and complementary tea tray didn`t seem to have been filled up for a family room.Could do with anti slip bath mat,as have those shower inside bath combo! Otherwise great location, not very far from London Paddington train station.

"Started so well"

Not enough characters to write a proper review, but to fr from theatre so unsure how can be part of a hotel and theatre package. Several tube stops from hotel made getting there problematic

"Lovely location bit that`s all"

Nice looking hotel from the outside and the location is very good but that`s about it!!!!. receptionist very cold, no greeting and didn`t know where are room was... or was too embarrased to tell us because we were in the basement, very gloomy, very dated, definatly not a 4* and not worth the money we paid, saying that it was very clean. Breakfast was an experience, running out of most things and staff stressed.We did not feel welcome especially every breakfast we were the only ones not to be served coffee and missed us out every time they topped up the cups on other tables.We felt as if we were not good enough!!!!!!

"Hotel excellent location rooms ok breakfast adequate."

Problem checking one member of staff on reception very offhand almost obstuctive.attempted to get us to pay again direct! It needed a phone call to your office & she to her manager!! this delayed booking in. once sorted the remainder ofthe staff helpful.It was a celebration for me & a bottle of wine was sent up to the room to compensate, We enjoyed my treat & trip

"Good location but disappointing"

Not 4 star, thankfully i did not pay a 4 star rate.Good location but hotel is very run tired and dated. Room furnishings were well worn with some broken. Walls and carpet looked grubby due to age.Service was not great. It took 30mins to check in. Only one receptionist during a busy check in period. I was in a queue of many disgruntled guests there appeared to be no manager available. Receptionist struggled on her own with constant interuptions on the phone and by other staff members asking her questions with no regard to waiting guests. A bar staff member rudely interrupted and lent over me to speak to the receptionist while she was trying to talk to me about the checkin form.Breakfast was ok, pastries were nice but other items seemed random i.e hash browns for a continental breakfast

"lift to small "

may be should have said I need ground floor with my age and I don`t like lifts breakfast could not fault only check in was kept waiting that I found unacceptable over all room was good would stay again there needs some updating

"Comparable to faulty towers"

I booked a twin room and was given a double. A wet dirty towel was left in the shower and was not cleaned. We were moved rooms but the fan didn`t work well. There`s was no hot water. The breakfast was slow disorganised and whilst the pastries were nice there was little else. Appalling stay and one I would never repeat with the Hotel.

Hotel needs updating badly. Rooms small and bathroom appalling. Continental breakfast very poor.We would have been better off in a Travelodge.

"Not worth the money"

The hotel is set opposite Hyde park which is beautiful, but the hotel is in great need of refurbishing. It smells musty. The room should have been a twin but instead they gave us a small double. When taking a shower the water did not drain away because the filter was blocked. 4* it was not. But the staff were friendly.

"Absolutely the worse Hotel ever!"

Room dirty and worn out, breakfast was appalling, staff not helpful. This Hotel is not a 4*, it should not be star rated at all. Tried to charge us for room again at checkout, had to battle with them to convince we had already paid. Not a good experience at all and should be taken off your list to avoid further disappointment.

"Fantastic location"

Fantastic location , friendly helpful staff Beds very comfy Linen excellent Bathroom facilities very clean Couldn`t fault the overall Service Hotel Location was excellent Hotel was full of character but could do with a little TLC re the decor

"Desperately needs updating"

Great location just outside Lancaster Gate tube station. On doorstep of Hyde Park. Hotel very old and worn. Had to hold shower whilst bathing as no shower holder on wall. No normal tea bags or enough milk. Hotel bar would only take cash, couldn`t add to room bill even though we had left credit card details at reception on arrival. Told breakfast was served until 11am, but then when went for breakfast at 10am were told it was 10.30sm. Continental breakfast. Bed clean and comfy, find for one night, don`t expect 4 star

Terrible welcome on checkin, given wrong directions to room. Rooms really cold, heating didnt work, barely warm shower, kettle missing from room. Breakfast was terrible- only cereal available, no toast or yogurt!!! Morning staff, guy who served us bar drinks & checkout were very lovely. Location fabulous, but would never stay in this hotel again.

"Good value for the money but you get what you pay for"

The hotel is in a good location and cheap for London. The staff were pleasant. However the breakfast was very sparse - a few standard cereals, some apples and oranges, some mediocre croissants and one type of pastry. Also a few cold cuts. The room was clean but the shower was just a hose with nowhere to attach it on the wall. The bed was standard size but comfy. The curtains ill fitting and the street lights shone through them all night. There windows were very draughty too and the noise of the traffic very loud.

I couldn`t sleep as the curtains were sewn back so didn`t close and as the bed was facing the road I had two bright street lights shining through the window onto the bed. WiFi didn`t work either. There was only one lift and even though it said it would accommodate two people there was no room with suitcases. Breakfast was nice though and the bathroom was clean and tidy. The room was also clean, but needed updating

"Bit of a dump"

Arrived checked in promptly given a superb room on 1st floor, This where the problems started someone else was already using the room man in shower oops, back to reception given an "Upgrade" 4 poster suite on 4th floor room on a slope bed old and lumpy mattress no hot water need I go on the lift says 2 people only bit of a tight squeeze thank god only 4 floors, Breakfast was the pits. Avoid this hotel.
