Helpful polite staff, Option for a full english breakfast needs to be clearer as we asked and were told all available on menu was what was listed and it was eggs anyway you wanted! 10 mins later table next to us were offered a fried breakfast. Probably comms with the foreign staff! Windows need to be cleaned outside but apart from that we had a very pleasant stay, Thanks to all at the Royal York will stay again.

"Room with a great view- if only it could be seen through the filthy window!"

Room was ok but could have done with a clean dust everywhere and the windows were covered in a layer of grime so you could hardly see through. One of the curtains was hanging from the rail so could not be drawn fully. Overall Not 4*

"Comfy and friendly, clean and convenient but not without some nightie noise!"

Loved our stay but have to admit was woken up in the wee small hours by revellers at the night club and by the coaches. I think that double glazing is needed but I guess that would influence the last minute price! Luckily we sleep soundly and so were not unduly worried but could be a problem if you`re a lighter sleeper!

"Fab hotel "

I booked this hotel last minute, and when I read the reviews they were dreadful, but Do Not believe them, this hotel is beautiful, amazing location, right near the sea front and all the fab shops in the lanes. Amazing cocktail bar, try the Fizz or pop cocktail!! Our room was a girly dream, staff were friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean and modern. Highly recommend this hotel, and I would come back .

"Nice room, noisy location"

Room was spacious, clean with nice bathroom. Only concern is street noise as the hotel is located on busy road and has National Express coach park at back. I was on the 3rd floor and had ear plugs, but still had to keep the windows (not double glazed) closed at night. If you don`t mind traffic noise its a good hotel.

"A lovely, friendly hotel. They could not be nicer."

I loved my room, with its Georgian bow-fronted windows facing onto The Stein. You could sense the history. This is a very nice hotel staffed by friendly, helpful people. I will return.

"We had a lovely stay and the staff are first class!!"

We booked this hotel 26th-29th July and had a fantastic stay and would go back tomorrow if we could! The gentleman that booked us in when we arrived was superb-friendly-polite and a damn good example of a human being! We requested a quiet room and he went all out to find us a suitable room (we were upgraded to room 317) which is a lovely room with a massive bathroom (the one shown in the pictures).You have all you need in the room-empty fridge so you can buy and chill drinks and the usual tea coffe etc and when you need an ironing board/iron its with you within a couple minutes. the speed of service and attention cannot be faulted.Brilliant room and the best staff on the planet.......Thanks for everything P&C

"Just Fab!"

Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly and professional staff. Cocktail bar and restaurant must be seen. Room had a beautiful sea view. Will book this hotel again for sure.

This is a lovely hotel and the room was goegeous! I would not recommend the breakfast tho unless you get down there early. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to check in 2 hours early without incurring any extra cost.I would highly recommend.

"Pretty good overall - just don`t rely on the wifi"

Great service, nice big room, very comfy bed and decent bathroom. Slight negatives in that the wifi was very patchy and mostly didn`t work at all: fairly inconvenient as I was in Brighton for work purposes. Also kind of weird that it seemed impossible to have a shower without getting a lot of water on the floor. But overall, very nice!

"Fantastic Hotel Love it"

This is my favourite hotel in Brighton. The rooms are big, clean, stylish. The staff and service is excellent. It is in the central of Brighton, our window looked at the pier which was an added bonus. Definitely recommend it to everyone.

"Bedroom lovely although initial impression let down by interior of enterance hall reception."

Our Room we decorated and cleaned to a high standard. Although Entrance hall / reception area was the oppositie - untidy an out dated. Bar area was decorated tastefully and advertises itself as a cocktail bar - unfortunately staff didn`t seem very well trained on this - music was depressing and staff had an inability to smile! We had one drink and left (with a large group) - atmosphere of music/staff definitally lost them custom. Happy with our stay (with hotel direct prices) but would have been disappointed if we`d paid hotel rates. Location - perfect!

"I was initially very happy but then started to notice the hotel was shabby in certain areas. "

The outside looked drab and unkempt and the pavement outside the main entrance was disgusting, covered in bird excement. My room 317 had stains in the ceiling where water was leaking, the curtains had holes in them, no hair dryer, no iron or ironing board in fact very few items one would normally expect in a 4 star hotel. The breakfast wasnt good, scrambled eggs arrived as though someone had made an omelette and cut it up I don`t believe there was a proper chef on that morning. Staff, when one could find them were in the main very helpful and courteous.

"Outstanding service and accommodation"

We had 1 night at the Radisson Blu in Brighton in December 2010. Our rooms, 2 doubles, faced The Old Steine, they were roomy and very comfortable, decorated to a high standard with good furnishings and a big comfy bed. Our only gripe was the heating, it was too hot! Staff were helpful and attentive. We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.

"small noisy room"

i know i got this room at half price, but if i had been paying full price i would have been well disappointed. it was a small room at the back of the hotel, with no internet connection and no cd player as promised when i looked at the hotel facilities. the room looked out onto the pier which was nice but below the room was the coach park/terminal of 3 bays, and this was noisy till about 3 in the morning and then started up again at 6. would not have wanted to stay another night there. also the shower ran cold when i tried it at 2 in the morning

"The staff were second to none."

Our room looked lovely, but was very cold, and where the tv was situated you couldnt see from the bed, apart from that our stay was very nice.
