"Excellent location"

Close to many of the attractions Dublin has to offer. Staff helpful. Ask for rooms at the back during the weekend as bars do get noisy at night. Room comfortable but TV reception poor other than BBC1. Would have liked shampoo in the bathroom as had to buy some. Breakfast OK and good value compared to local cafes, which although good were quite expensive compared to cafes further away from Grafton St area.

"Some problems but staff saved you"

Found the stay pleasant; staff very polite and helpful. Hotel is however dated. Decor isnt too bad, but TV didnt work - havent seen one like that for more than 15 years; bath - no plug; some electrics didnt work; breakfast - a little poor.

"Nice Hotel - but no Wifi in 2016!?"

Room was very spacious and comfortable - hotel generally was very clean and presentable. The only downside was the complete lack of Wi-Fi - not ideal in this day and age, especially for people who are away on business.Other than that - I cant fault this hotel.

"Noisy!"

The Hotel was well situated, and pleasantly (although probably unintentionally) quirky. In need of some renovation but with original features. BUT, if you don`t want to be kept awake until the early hours of the morning by the very loud nightclub downstairs, avoid Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

"very old and rusty"

Our stay as a starting point for our holiday was terrible. Building very old. The biggest problem was the batjropm facilities. Bathtib old with rust and dirty looking. Toilet didn`t flush correctly. WnteEntrance very dirty looking also. Wousld recommend for an overnight stay never mind any longer.

"reasonable price and I had use of local parking facilities."

I found the Hotel full of character and was adequate for my short stay in Dublin. It was at a reasonable price and I had use of local parking facilities which on request I was able to cut my parking bill considerably when I was checking out. A little more attention to detail would enhance the overall experience. All said and done I would recommend this hotel for price and basic requirements.

"Nice enough hotel but is in serious need of a revamp, to bring it into the modern times."

Myself and my partner stayed here for two nights over valentines weekend and it was nice enough hotel, just very old fashioned. All the furniture/towels/bedding looked very worn and the mattress on the bed was as hard as rocks. The walls are also paper thin so you can hear everything and I mean everything being said and done in all the rooms around you. We actually ended up once staying one night and leaving the second day as we slept so bad on the first night that we just wanted to get home to our own bed! A plus about the hotel is its in a very good location so you can walk everywhere which we liked and it has some lovely cafes and restaurants around it for food. Overall all this hotel was not good for a couple who just want a relaxing few days away and we will not be returning

Hairdryer was broken and one of the teaspoons and saucers hadn`t been replaced since previous guests therefore was covered in dried up coffee/milk. Quite unpleasant.

Good breakfast, nice hotel, good location but our room winow was only a few yards from a nightclub, very noisy, felt like the dj was in the room, no mention of this in the write up

Nice classic hotel, a little old but very well located. Staff was really helpful and lovely, breakfast is better is you go in any coffee next door, the room was comfortable. But: Internet / Wifi is horrible: slow, disconnecting all the time and available only in the lounge. Overall we enjoyed it but dont count on replying to your mails.

"Disappointing."

The hotel was in a great location and staff were friendly enough but what let this hotel down was the general condition of the room. Fixtures and fittings and bathroom ceramics were loose or even broken and were poorly "repaired". Woodwork all through the hotel was scruffy. The hotel could be much improved if a little money and tlc was spent all round. It would certainly have improved our stay.

"Good and central and helpful staff"

We were happy overall with the room and with our stay. These are just a few comments for improvements - The room and bathroom could do with some updating. The curtains were frayed and torn, and the walls were badly marked. The bath plug did not fit the bath properly and there did not appear to be a plug for the sink at all.

"Great location and front desk staff, not so great room cleaning "

This was my fourth stay at the GC. Obviously I like something about it. Mostly I like the location and price. We tried to get a plug for the tub but the staff couldn`t find one. So we were left with a slowly draining tub. The beds were made every day but the sheets never replaced so it was only the covers that were tidied up. Our coffee cups were simply turned over but not washed as when we went to use them we could see the dried remains. Also the garbage of empty cans etc left on the table were not taken away so we were left after seven nights of quite a substantial pile of stuff that should have been taken away. We never said anything as after the first couple of days we wanted to see how long it would take before it was taken care of - it never was. Bathroom counter same as main room - scraps of paper and plastic can thingies left day after day. I was very much disappointed this time round as I said this was my fourth stay. I likely will not be back nor recommend it.

the hotel was comfortable, and ideally located near to most of the areas you will want to visit.the hop on hop off bus is just a short walk away and opens up the rest of the city for sight seeing.nearby are pubs and restaurants for the evening

"center of temple bar"

A great fun hotel, right in the center of shop and restaurants of Gresham street and temple bar. Look out for the giant american Indian on a horse. We had great fun here, the rooms are pleasant, the night staff were friendly, will be looking to book the hotel again. Booked breakfast but didn`t get to it. Dublin is to much fun! Thanks to the hotel a good time was had,

"Excellent position! In Dublin... "

I f should make people aware the live disco elt for 80.00 a night not including breakfast that the quality was poor and shabby...... Very dated room.. Just needs a makeover with some better smellies in the room.... You should make people aware of the bar /dj as it was very very loud... Till 3am...I would think about returning but only for the position in Dublin and would always ask for a room on the upper floors....

"Great location."

An old-fashioned hotel with basic comforts and a good standard of cleanliness. I had to request a lamp as the room we were allocated was dark. Also, there was no bath plug. (Both requests quickly granted.) Were it located somewhere else, I`d not rebook, but the location outweighs the basic standards.

"Could do better"

The room was adequate, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the hairdryer in the the bathroom did not work properly. I requested a replacement at 10 am which I was assured would be delivered to my room. However after 3 further requests one was eventually delivered at around 8 pm. Also on the Wednesday evening the bar was not open. When we asked why not were told that midweek the hotel was not busy enough to open the bar! The location was excellent for what we wanted but perhaps could have been a bit more user friendly.

"Expensive for what you get."

Positives first - Nice hotel, room in reasonable state of repair, friendly helpful curtious staff. Negatives - Luke warm water on the Tuesday morning (Wednesday piping hot), no wifi in the rooms, you had to go to a guest area on the first floor to get a signal, no parking at the hotel although there was a parking charge reduction at the local car park, but the info not given out on arrival.
