"Not the hotel we booked"
Not to happy to be honest. We booked the sailsbury and got told at the reception that we were being moved to the Masson house instead, the rooms were so so so hot with no air con and the morning breakfast was bland. Won`t be staying here again.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is handy for the main attractions in the city. It`s about 25 minutes leisurely walk or public transport right outside the hotel grounds. Car parking within the hotel grounds is a bonus.

"A very good hotel well situated for the centre of Edinburgh"
We had a lovely room that was cleaned every day, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast had everything we wanted and more! The staff were also very pleasant and helpful.

Although the hotel is not what I would describe as a standard operation, facilities split between two buildings the room was comfortable and well serviced. The breakfast was excellent and the information provided about local services was very useful.

Stayed here for 2nights , on arrival went to reception very friendly and fast checking in, got to our room lovely and clean everything there we needed, had breakfast what a choose, all staff were friendly , I can`t fault this hotel at all when we come back to Edinburgh this will be our first choose

Room was very clean but a bit dated. Building work outside with scaffold at window and no net curtain. Breakfast was excellent with very friendly waiting staff.

We stayed for two nights with friends and all four of us enjoyed our stay the rooms very good and clean shower excellent the breakfast was excellent the staff courteous and friendly also very helpful when asked questions about the bus times etc would stay there again

"A bit unwelcoming and not central "
I was disappointed in the hotel which is more a conference centre. No restaurant for evening meal and not close to a nice area for restaurants or shops. Room was clean but basic. Having to walk to another building in the rain to reception was annoying. Breakfast was very good apart from long hairs cooked in to the food!

This hotel is set up in the university of edingburgh campus. When I staid it was out of term time. However I could see that at another time this would probably be a problem.The reception for booking in is situated at another hall which is not agreeable in when you have bags etc. I didn`t think it was clearly marked and ended up walking in to the hotel only to have to walk round the corner. The room and breakfast was if a good standard but with no staff in sight. At reception they failed to inform me to collect a parking permit for my vehicle and told me to go and get one. After a 7 hour drive I said that was not satisfactory. This not really a hotel more a serviced rooms.......

Safe and convenient accomodation with ample parking in lovely surroundings. I would definitely recommend Salisbury Green to travellers, tourists and businessmen. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is all you need to start the day. The hotel is conveniently located to the major Lothian bus routes.

"Friendly, comfortable and clean"
Reception staff were very welcomimg, friendly and informative. Despite the exterior of the building looking very old with great character, the room was very modern, fresh and clean. Ideal location for our one night stay for a show at the Playhouse, which was only a short journey by bus or taxi. Despite being on the University campus it was very quiet. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice and again the staff were very friendly and polite. We would definately consider staying at Salisbury Green again.

the hotel was lovely,the room was well set out and had everything that was needed for an overnight stay,the room was also lovely and warm and plenty of hot water when using the shower.the breakfast was really good all the food was really fresh and appealing the fresh fruit in particular,all the staff were very helpful and friendly.I would recommend this hotel and would use it again.

This hotel was in the universities complex and was beside the main halls of residence, with no reception or bar it down graded the hotel.

We loved this Hotel and would return again. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was HUGE! We stayed in Room 2 on the ground floor and after a very busy evening in the city, it was lovely to come back to the peacefulness of the hotel. (Although its location is away from the centre of Edinburgh, it is only 10 minute taxi/car ride to the city`s main attractions.) The breakfast in the morning is also worth a mention-Plenty to eat and served by pleasant people. In all, a well run establishment that can give the more well known chains a run for their money.
