Its not too clear on this web site but the Royal Bath charges £20 for 24 hours for on site parking. NCP parking is also next door .

"Beautiful reception/dining area. Mediocre rooms"

Upon entrance into the hotel it is very grand and decedant. Quite a late check in of 3pm and despite my paper saying check out was at 11am, hotel requested guests check out by 10am.I was pleasantly greeted by staff on arrival. The room I was given was in the basment..no windows very dingy and dark. No signal on my phone or iPad whatsoever. The was a city double room. I complained and was given a room on a higher floor...staff checked before hand to see if I could get signal there first. This new room has windows and was much better...their wifi didn`t work in this room though and the TV was tiny..like 15 inches.I wasn`t overwhelmed or delighted by anything at the royal bath. Rooms were a let down to be honest

"Hotel was well presented, most staff friendly, polite and helpful, the room was clean and tidy."

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel - upon arrival certain staff were very helpful directing us to alternative parking, we could check in and leave our luggage early and explore the surroundings - our room was clean, fresh, cool inside, the shower could possibly have been a little more powerful, possibly some hot chocolate with the kettle. Breakfast was a little disappointing, we found the English breakfast on the cold side and it would be nice to be cooked to order. Overall our stay was pleasant, close to local amenities and we enjoyed our time there.

"forget the Royal "

Was We were looking forward to our overnight stay at the Royal bath thought it would be a real treat? The hotel is really tired and is in need of some TLC, rooms are really spacious, beds quite comfy, that`s the good bits? Bathroom could have been cleaner hairs in bath and badly stained toilet, shower over the bath needs updating. Were looking forward to a nice breakfast but I am afraid to say it was one of the worst I have had, warm coffee stale croissants and the full English was not good no taste to it whatsoever . OK for room only but don`t bother with the breakfast

"Nice hotel in nice location at reasonable prices. "

Overall a very pleasant stay, but one or two disappointments - no maps of Bournemouth at the reception desk, no saftey deposit box in room, WiFi very poor and I was not given any shampoo or gel on the second day. But everybody very pleasant and nice hotel, so worth putting up with a few minor imperfections.

"Expected better"

I booked this hotel as a surprise night away for my boyfriend & I, from the photos and price I thought it would be great! However, we arrived & had to wait 15 mins for someone to come to reception! We got checked in by a man who was very brief & just said your room is on the 2nd floor - not even a hello. We went to our room & automatically noticed our bed sheets were dirty & had a large hole in them. Not being too impressed we went back down to reception to explain, the receptionist didnt apologise, just said `do you want to move rooms?` We said yes and asked for a room with a slight scenery. Our new room had a tiny window facing a grey brick wall. We went and asked for our original room & for bed sheets to be changed. We went back to our 1st room to settle in. Whilst sorting ourselves the cleaners let themselves into our room! Customer service at this hotel needs some work and the decor needs a good paint. Quite disappointed!

very stressful start to my anniversary night away, starting with pay for parking ,valet parking at a cost of £20 it was full , so had to park in public car park at £12.50 a day. Arrived at reception at 3:20pm to find my booking did not exsist had to show them email om my phone which was then taken off me to show manager, then they said it was hotel directs fault but I have used you before and never had a problem. We finally got a room at 5:15pm I was not happy. The Hotel was very out dated I have stayed in 4 star before and it was much better , you also had to pay extra to use the pool which I under stood was free use to all guess. The only good thing about it was the breakfast plenty to choose from. I will not be staying there again ..

"Excellent location but we had a very skimpy room."

The Royal Bath is in a perfect location for access to the beach, the shops and the gardens and is good value for money, however our room (620) was not really suitable as a double room and should have been used as as single. For two adults there was hardly any room for both people at the same time. It`s location in the hotel would not have been suitable for anyone less able to manage stairs, as even using the lift it was a hike to the room. We managed ok and would go back, but next time would request a larger room in a better location within the hotel.

"Very disappointed with overall cleanliness and service"

Bathroom floor had tiles and mastic missing.Door entry didn`t work properly.Pop up sink waste didn`t work. The fan looked like it had never been cleaned. There was mould on the bread at breakfast and one of the tables was propped up with three table mats.We were never asked whether we wanted tea or coffee at breakfast.

"Very small club rooms. "

Our bedrooms were very cold, hotel reception said it is the policy of Head Office to put the heating down but at 19:30 the heating will come on but will be very minimum. It was too cold so we were given an electric heater. The worst part is that now you have to pay £4 per adult to use the swimming pool and £1 per towel. This hotel used to be owned by the Devere Group and was always a lovely place to stay but sadly it has become run down and shabby looking inside. As long as you can get a cheap deal then it is worth staying at this hotel

"The information was misrepresented when Hotel booked. Service was sub standard. "

I booked a CLUB DOUBLE ROOM . Room No 614. is slated as DOUBLE CITY ROOM . WE HAD A VERY UNCOFORTABLE STAY in a very small room. We did not even have Toilet Rolls in our room. The staff at Reception were indifferent and unprofessional. Basically we were sold a room under a misrepresentation . ROYAL BATH I would award very unwillingly 1 /10. Thank you . Rajat Kumar

"Great Hotel......Shame about the room"

We arrived at the Hotel and was amazed at its size. And the decor was out of this world. We were treated like royalty and all the staff were freindly and bent over backward to make us welcome. The only thing We were ot happy with is the room.Amongst all the 600 hundred or so rooms there is a section called the West wing. This seems to be a add on to the buildingThe room was small and very basic just enough for a double bed and some restricted walk wayI didnt really take much to the view from the window either ...It was a brick wall and a massive grey duct pipe that was no more than 3 feet from the window

"Grand but dated"

I booked a night stay at the Royal Bath and obtained a very good deal. Arriving at 13.00 hours instead of the usual check-in time the receptionist was very kind and allowed me to check-in and upgraded me to a sea view suite. Was disappointed at the GBP20 per night parking fee which in my experience is not usual for hotel residents but that`s life. The hotel must have been magnificent in it`s heyday and there are many historical features but it is now sadly a little tired and would benefit by a thorough renovation. All staff encountered were courteous and obliging. I visit Bournemouth quite often and would return again to the Royal Bath - but only if the price is reasonable - not sure that 4* is entirely warranted in the current condition.

"Highly recommended"

I stayed for one night in january and enjoyed my stay. I really enjoyed the spa and breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly. I would say this is a three star hotel but definatly value for money.( I paid £49 for two adults).IGNORE the negative reviews and book...you wont be dissapointed.

"Great value and good room overlooking Sea"

Everything was fine, one small criticism was when we went to the bar for a nightcap on Sunday night there was a long queue even though there were 3 bar staff. As I got closer I noticed that most of the time was taken preparing coffee. Needless to say we didn`t bother waiting.
