"Copthorne Gatwick Very Cold and disappointing stay in room 374."

Our stay at the hotel for myself my wife 2nights and my daughter for one night and we were pleased with our room.To our dismay it soon turned into a nightmare because of the failure of radiators to heat the room .It was freezing cold; We reported this immediately on Friday pm and being issued with a blanket and electric mobile heater we were still very cold and could not sleep all night. We again reported this in the morning telling staff we had n t slept all night and when we returned to our room later on in the day we found another portable heater had been put in our room.The radiator in the room was still not working.We had booked this weekend to attend a convention nearby and because of lack of sleep due to the cold missed half of the day we overslept due to tiredness. Our whole weekend experience was ruined.In addition the fire alarm went off at 5AM in the morning a mistake the staff said.Your staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times thank you for this.

"Looking tired "

I Have used the Copthorne Gatwick on a number of occasions due to it being convenient for both Gatwick Airport and family.The hotel rooms are looking tired and in need of refurbishment, my room on this occasion had a burn on the carpet,some furniture has scratches and scrapes and the TV was dated although fully functional. My intention was to meet family at the hotel for a drink in the bar, however this changed when I discovered the cost of food and drink. I am not sure whether I will be returning in the future.

"Room in need of a refit uncomfortable bed"

The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in, it dipped in the middle and on both sides every time you turned over the springs made a noise waking us up not ideal when the whole point if staying at the hotel was to get a good nights sleep prioir to a long haul flight. Also the bedroom was in need of some TLC, however the service at reception in the bar and restaurant was excellent

Our first night`s stay was fine, but on our return journey we were given a room that had a pungent smell of damp which made me cough and gave me difficulties breathing. Not what you expect from a four star hotel! The bar food was also poor quality and expensive.
