Hotel is getting a little tired and could do with modernisation. Re-decorating the rooms would help. Fitting air-con is a must as room was very stuffy. On opening window at night noisy from passing traffic as room overlooked road to station. House-keeping gave us a fan which helped......

"Nice stay"
Download festival weekend and the hotel`s of Derby have to put up with an onslaught of mucky metal fans!! I think the Hallmark coped very well. Nice and close to all amenities and the rail station, it was clean and quiet and the staff friendly and helpful. I`d recommend it for any occasion although I`ve never found a reason to come here except for the music festival when it always seems to rain heavily.

"FEEL COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF"
As we know Derby and the Midland hotel very well, i booked the Midland hotel derby as a present for my wife and even spoke to someone on the phone to confirm we was staying in the Midland hotel only to turn up there on Saturday to be told we was at the wrong hotel and we was staying in the sister hotel across the road that did not even have anywhere to sit of an evening as there was a private function in the little room used as a restaurant. Absolutely ruined what we had planned as an anniversary weekend.
