"Clean hotel, friendly staff, location good"
We stayed for 4 nights. Hotels Direct information pre-travel was that we would have Continental Breakfast. This needs to be amended because the hotel offers a breakfast buffet, hot and cold. However, key elements of a CB are missing, eg not a lot of fresh fruit, no seeds, nuts, cheese, etc, which would usually be associated with CB. I stress this is an observation for the third party, not the hotel. I do think that the hotel could offer more healthy options in the buffet, eg a low fat alternative to butter, less sugary fruit compote, more healthy cereal such as granola or muesli.Rooms - not really adequately equipped for a 4 night stay. We`re a bit old to be living out of a suitcase! Had to ask for clean cups on one day when we`d been missed out for housekeeping and we made many visits to reception to get tea bags and milk (we only made 2 cups of tea each per day, honest!)

"Great Break"
Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable room with everything needed for a short break. Lovely cooked breakfast included, scrambled eggs were delicious :). Close to Mermaid Bay & Millennium Centre, with lots of places to eat. Cardiff City Centre is about 5 minutes away by car - approx £5 in taxi, or X2 bus pick up by Millennium Centre is £2 flat fare. This is 3rd stay in a Holiday Inn over last 18 months and I highly recommend.
