"I was moved to another hotel and then had to move rooms another 3 times. "

Having booked a room at the Shaftesbury Kensington Hotel, when I arrived I was advised I was to be moved to their sister hotel across the road. I was only given the reason for this after asking a number of times for an explanation. On arrival at the alternative hotel, I was checked into a room that a guest was already occupying and the room i was then checked in had a train going past every 30seconds. Eventually after complaining 3 times about the noise, I was moved to another building. There was no apology from the staff and the single rooms were absolutely tiny. I ordered breakfast room service and there were a number of items incorrect on the tray but by this time, I had had enough, so did not complain. If ever in London again, i will not stay at this hotel nor would I recommend it to colleages and friends

"No way a 4 star, don`t waste your money!"

The staff were very unhelpful, i was put in a building which was essentially a BnB half way down the street from the hotel. It had no double glazing so you could here everything and the bedroom was so small you couldn`t swing a cat in it. When i complained they said this is where all single rooms (aka box rooms) are based and that there was nothing they could do.

"Not really any problems but the standard was very basic"

Mr Albert thought that the hotel had a budget feel to it. He thought that we could do a lot better for only a little extra money. We would not use it again.

It is in a convenient location. Staff efficient and polite, businesslike rather than friendly except for breakfast manager who smiled and was friendly. I had a single room , clean and adequate but smaller than i expected . no trouser press. i was in the annex , which was alright but it was unexpected as there was no mention of an annex in your publicity. The room bore little resemblance to the beautiful one advertised. i sat next to U S visitors who complained bitterly of the basement room they had been placed in in the main hotel. Not excellent overall but my exprience rated good taking what i paid into account. I do use your chain of hotels often and have booked colleagues there. best wishes, professor john grenville. P S I have booked colleagues into Moor Hall Sutton Coldfield.

"Good location but single female travellers should avoid the annex building"

Bedroom was good size for a single with good clean bathroom however being located in the annex building didn`t feel as safe as the main building - unmanned front door means that you are heavily reliant on other guests ensuring the front door is closed to stop the gen public entering the building. Hotel within easy walk of Earl`s Court tube with plenty of restaurants and shops in the area.

"Great location, good access to tube, restaurants etc , would stay again"

Very good, my only criticism was room too hot and front desk slightly overwhelmed when busy and not providing a good service. All else was excellent. Room nicely decorated with nice touches such as complimentary water and decent hairdryer. Oh only other minor whinge is sheets very stiff and not so nice...

"Good hotel very well located. Excellent breakfast."

Beautiful hotel very well located, 2 min from Earls` Court tube station. Staff responded quickly and efficiently when we requested to change our room due to a problem with the electricity in the first room we occupied. I will go back to this hotel and recommend it.

"I enjoyed my stay at the Shaftesbury and would certainly recommend it to others."

The hotel is well situated, being very close to Earls Court station. The area itself is quiet but there are plenty of eating and drinking places. The hotel was very clean and modern and in opinion worthy of being a 4*. The staff were welcoming and heplfull and the room cleaned on a daily basis. On the breakfast menu the food was always fresh and there was plenty to choose from (continenatl breakfast). If in London again I would re-visit this hotel.

"Beautiful Hotel!"

The hotel was a suprise for my boyfriends birthday and he loved it, he thought it was a very classy hotel, and the wide screen tele gave it the special touch! the bed was Huge! but the bathroom was tiny! but it wasnt a problem,... The staff were OK, not very helpful, we ordered a taxi and it arrived 15 mintues late, which made us late for dinner, and they couldnt help with the directions to the resturant, they couldnt even spell the name of it,as their english wasnt very good, overall i loved the hotel, would deffo stay there again! ;)

Our room was extremely tiny for a double. Bed only four foot wide. We were going to a wedding and in a rush so we didn`t have time to complain. We were only there for one night but would have requested a change had we been for longer. The base of the bed was extremely dangerous, as we kept catching our legs on it as we walked round it . However, very clean and food good. I would stay there again but would have to make sure the room was more spacious.

"Clean, well presented hotel situtaed close to the tube"

The rooms are clean, bed very comfortbale and the addition of a decent flat screen tv and powerful hot shower made this a pleasing hotel to stay in. A short walk from Earls Court tube with goods links to the city.

"Very Small Room"

Upon entering the hotel I was very pleased with the face value of the hotel and also how polite, friendly and very helpful the staff was. Upon entering the room I was very let down by how small the double room was, room 112 (I spent the whole time in the room having to side step around due to the fact that the double bed took up 80% of the floor space in the room occasionally smashing my shins off of the wooden bed frame). This, however is the only grumble, although it be a quite significant one. I would go on to add that the rest of the room being very clean and tidy and very modern. As for the rest of the hotel, the food was good the service was excellent and I would recomend staying there to anyone (just not in room 112).

"Rooms very small, but otherwise a very nice hotel."

Pleasant and helpful staff. Very clean and situated in a quiet location within walking distance of Earls Court Road tube station and local shops. A bottle of champagne ordered for the room on our arrival never arrived but at least it saved me £40 !!

"Smart comfortable hotel, clean, helpful friendly staff and very good restaurant."

A very good comfortable hotel, although some double rooms are rather cramped. Twin-bedded rooms appear to be more spacious. Avoid basement rooms - we had to move owing to no hot water!! Otherwise, a pleasant hotel for a few days sightseeing in London.

"Nicely fitted out room and bathroom, functional common areas"

did not have time to use the facilities so could not comment. Good location, nicely fitted out, bed was uncomfortable and this and bedroom was small. Typical of London hotel, much more quality, comfort and space elsewhere in the world for less money.
