Guest rating: | 16/2/2010 | | "Standard room. Basic room really. Unfriendly staff." | | | | Standard room was far from what we got. Basic was the only way to describe it. Our room faced a brick wall. Decor was not homely and you wouldn`t have wanted to spend any amount of time in the room unless it was to sleep.Found a lot of the staff unapproachable. In our experience it was far from "the contomer is always right"

Guest rating: | 15/2/2010 | | "For Dublin`s landmark hotel, I expected a better standard" | | | | Rooms cold and could do with updating. Can`t comment about the food as we went out it was so expensive. Drinks also expensive (as is the rest of Dublin!!) but staff were friendly and approachable.

Guest rating: | 30/1/2010 | | "I always stay at the Gresham when I visit Dublin...." | | | | You will always find friendly, helpful staff and excellent service - day and night - at the historic Gresham. I arrived very early in the mornng for an evening meeting and they found me a vacant room well before the official check in time as well as providing a very early alarm call for my departure early the next day. The Aircoach leaves you at the door and picks you up just across the road 24 hours a day for Dublin Airport. And the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable with great bar, resturant and foyer to meet friends or colleagues.

Guest rating: | 25/1/2010 | | "Grand Hotel, yet with a relaxed ambience." | | | | Grand Hotel, yet with a relaxed ambience.I used the Airport bus to reach the Gresham, very good service with the stop and pick up point on the doorstep. Staff friendly and efficient, nice relaxing atmosphere in the lounge/bar. I had a room on the very top floor, O`connell street side, which was a little noisey as the street noise funnels up and Dublin never sleeps. I would stay at the Gresham again. Steve and Mandy ( 40th B`day celebrations)

Guest rating: | 25/1/2010 | | "Lovely old style hotel with FREE wifi .....a breakthrough in modern thinking!" | | | | I was very happy at the Gresham as was in Dublin on business and needed to use the internet to work. Many hotels charge ridiculous prices and so often I have to leave them and use an internet cafe.At the Gresham I could stay in the hotel in safety and comfort. The only issue with staying was that the coffee was 4 euro 50 and breakfast was too expensive (this all seems to be about money so far!) at 18 euro for continental that I did of course go out instead. The room was clean, lovely and quiet (as I has requested). Staff were polite and helpful.I would definitely come again.

Guest rating: | 17/1/2010 | | "Problems at the Gresham" | | | | I stayed at the Gresham for two nights and felt there were some problems which needed to be addressed. The first of which was the noise levels from outside the hotel, i was on the second floor and the room was situated over an alley and because there was inadequate sound proofing on the windows it meant all noise from outside was very loud which resulted in a poor nights sleep. Secondly the shower in the room, despite being at its highest setting, remained warm at best.

Guest rating: | 12/1/2010 | | "Very enjoyable" | | | | The on site parking was a real benefit. The hotel itself was nicely decorated throughout. The staff were helpful and courteous. Its cental Dublin location makes it a must for tourists and business people alike.

Guest rating: | 5/1/2010 | | "Woken up by Heroin Addicts injecting outside our window every morning." | | | | We were more than disappointed with our stay at this hotel, on arrival we were advised that we had been upgraded, the room was basic to say the least for a four star hotel. There were no facecloths in the room, and when i asked the maid she advised me that due to the credit crunch such luxuries had been taken away, something i do not consider to be a luxury more a necessity. There is a back lane behind the hotel and every morning we woke up to find a bunch of men approximately 5 injecting heroin into themselves. I complained to the hotel about this but was told, there was nothing they could do.

Guest rating: | 4/1/2010 | | "Not good enough!" | | | | I booked four rooms at the hotel for a family celebration and the other ladies were my guests. My daughter could not get any hot water in her room and rang reception only to be told that other people were probably using it. Not good enough. It was only afterwards that I learnt from my daughter that the other ladies did not have any hot water either but were too polite to tell me. The rooms were very cold as well. You have obviously got serious problems with your hot water and heating system. Not good enough for a four star hotel and your reputation!

Guest rating: | 4/12/2009 | | "Well appointed and comfotable hotel centrally located with welcoming and helpful staff." | | | | Heating in room failed to operate. Ultimately had to move room but it took half a dozen phone calls and lengthy wait in cold conditions. Full irish breakfast slightly disappointing (and expensive) having sat for some time under heating elements. That said, these were minor inconveniences and overall the hotel was good. I have opted to stay there again in December.

Guest rating: | 30/11/2009 | | "Service not good" | | | | We found checking in slow and a bit inefficient. Also 2 rooms not ready at 2.30 is a little late.Lobby was very cold - maybe reason for this but it wasn`t explained to us. We went in for snack in dining room and this was not good. Service was really bad. we had to ask for basic things such as butter for our bread. tea came very late - almost 20 minutes after sandwich for one of us. another`s sandwich was wrong and had to back. I`ve always liked the Gresham and found the staff there always lovely. A bit of a let down this time. Otherwise everything was great. Bedroom etc. lovely. Dining room`s decor should be looked at - the brown tables don`t work. and the runners in white don`t add any ambience. Full white tablecloths would be so much better, as heretofore.

Guest rating: | 29/11/2009 | | "A lovely hotel but the rooms facing O`Connell street need upgraded sound proofing as it was noisy." | | | | For the quality of the hotel I would have expected biscuits to be provided with the tea/coffee making facilities. This is a standard in most hotels. Also it was disappointing not to be able to get food after 9.30 pm. I needed to be in Dublin for a seminar that didn`t finish until 9.30pm and had no opportunity to eat beforehand. Again for this quality hotel it should be standard.

Guest rating: | 25/11/2009 | | "Very Comfortable" | | | | The hotel is well situated for theatre and shopping. We particularly appreciated the third option for breakfast-coffee and croissants in the lobby which is what we prefer. The room was large , clean and well furnished. Our only problem was the difficult arrangement of lifts from car park to lobby to bedrooms.
