"Over priced"

The room was tired with stains on the carpet and peeling wall paper in the bathroom. For the price paid the facilities were extremely limited. There was not even a kettle or Iron available in the room, these came at additional cost as well as the newspaper. The staff, whilst not all, were not overly helpful. When checking out, my girlfriend was in mid-conversation with the receptionist when he chose to answer the phone. Assuming that all was well she began to leave, only to be told called back and informed that the newspapers were not free. Considering the price is close to that of the Four Seasons and it is supposedly a 4 star hotel, this was not what I was expecting.

People at the reception desk were very unfriendly and arrogant. Maybe because I didnt appear to be a member of the upper class. Very disapointing.

Comfortable hotel. Shame they feel the nned to charge guests ?10 to park & then to make it worse the barrier was open when we left.Bit petty that we couldn`t go in for breakfast at 3 minutes to 7 because the restaurant doesn`t open until 7 !

"The Herbert Park provided excellent accomodation in well furnished rooms."

The Herbert Park is located in a lovely area about a twenty five minute walk from the city`s main thoroughfares. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and attentive and provided excellent customer service. The hotel has a large bar area and the restaurant has good views across the park. Attractive decor and furniture. En suite bedroom had temperature control, was well equipped and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Great Hotel, perfect location for RDS"

I found the hotel to be extremely clean and welcoming - Room service was excellent, staff were more than helpful and the location was right in front of the RDS - getting into temple bar was a doodle, taxi rank right outside hotel, only 8 Euros! Hotel great value for money.

Room in the hotel was very well appointed - appreciated having option of music centre as well as the tv - chocs on the pillow nice touch - had lost/dropped an earring down the plughole in the bathroom - reported it to staff (difficult - language barrier) and was very pleased that they were able to retrieve it for me. hotel bar - lacked character - very bland - language again a bit of a problem restaurant - just about adequate - very bland - no character either - language again - woulldn`t really want to eat an evening meal there again room was very good

"No Electricity, Water or Breakfast on the first morning. Staff were the worst EVER encountered"

Staff were Rude, Unhelpful and Lied and at no time did I cause a scene. I was actually embarrassed when I had to talk to them about the first night. Hotel offered 50% discount for the first night, after 3 days of asking what was going to happen, should have been 100%. Hotel was supposed to call me on Monday 26th, this didn`t happen and I called them on Wednesday 28th. Seems their policy is get the customer away from the hotel and hopefully the problem will disappear. Dreadful treatment all round. Ronan McLaughlin

I cancelled my stay due to cancellation of the ferry crossing to Ireland . This cancellation was at approx midday on due date of arrival. On contacting the hotel later that day thehotel said that it was then fully booked and had a wait list. The room which I had booked was obviously re-sold so I should not be charged for the full cost. I was not informed on booking that there was a cancellation charge. Please contact me as I feel a refund is due. Regards R A Henry

"Excellent Bedroom"

The main feature of the Herbert Park is the glass sun room effect - unfortunately we arrived as the room was being recarpeted - the bar was being moved and there was generally a lot of noise about the hotel.I have styed in this hotel a lot for business and it is generally excellent - so I decided to take my wife and family for a treat - unfortunately it was a bit more like a building site.

"Pity they did not have the courtesy to let us know the restaurant was being refurbished!"

Herbert Park is without doubt a quality hotel and the staff were of the highest calibre and could not have been more helpful. One of the reasons we selected Herbert Park was the reviews of the cuisine. We always stay in Dublin on our annual return from the SW and enjoy a little `spoil` - pity they did not have the courtesy to let us know the restaurant was being refurbished and the bar was shut and being used as a temporaryy breakfast hall. That said the evening meal we did have on our laps in the fyer was great; the same could not be said for the buffet breakfast.

"Nice hotel, but. . . "

Generally I liked the hotel, the staff were friendly (not a great deal of irish staff and hospitality on show), the rooms were very clean and well presented. My main disapointment though was the bar. I wasn`t very fussed on the style and character (or lack off), it just didn`t seem very relaxing. Myself and my companions would probably of stayed in the hotel bar but for this. It had absolutely no atmosphere about it.

"Room size."

I have stayed at the Hotel on many occasions and have always found it very good. On this occasion howevermyself and my wife were given a tiny room with a very small bed which only suitable for single occupancy.Very dissapointing.
