"A little seedy and dated"

Poor power outlets, poor lighting control. Small but adequate room for short stay. Access to metoro accurately stated. Rather basic and joyless.

"Too noisy"

Staff was friendly, hotel is well located to get the metro, breakfast was fine, restaurants around. Rooms are small with limited space but you don`t need more than a bed to be fair, the big issue was the noise. You can absolutely hear everything (busy road + your neighbours) and was unable to have a good sleep for the 3 nights I was there. Would I go back? For this reason only, no.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, giving good information on how to get about Paris, restaurants and holding luggage. Rooms were a litte tired and dirty, curtains were falling off and some of the walls and skirting were very dirty. What seemed like quite a new bathroom had some faults, our shower head didnt stay up. It was in a great location for walking around and people watching. Not sure I woud go back again.

"A good reasonable priced hotel"

Nice clean fresh room, comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and it was ina nice area with plenty of shops, and a market. Not far from the Metro. A tip for coffee lovers, the best coffee in Paris is from the coffee machine at Lafayette for only 1 euro! plus the best views of Paris can be seen at the viewing area there

"Nice hotel location"

I have stayed on this hotel with other friends and family. I think the rooms needs a bit of decoration ana shower curtain in the bathrooms definitely needs doing. I found out that the hotel has a superb location really closeto restaurants and supermaket. As the hotel is located in the main hotel therefore expect some noisy especially when sleeping with open window. Finally I think the hotel is value for money. If you only like to stay in luxuries hotels then this is defnitely not for you. I believe if you go to Paris then you will probably end up in a hotel room only to have a shower and sleep and this hotel can provide this without a doubt. Staff was friendly, free wifi and breakfast included. I would stay again depending on.price range next time.

"Clean, cheerful, reasonably priced hotel."

The staff were most obliging. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss - not everything was available each day. Bread and pastries were always available but if you wanted the yoghurt or cheese etc the supplies were limited. The rooms were basic but were kept clean. I was disappointed that there was no room safe and that the hotel did not have a main safe available. Otherwise it was a good base for touring.

"Excellent value"

Stayed here for a long weekend, room was small ish but very clean, maid service excellent.Only downside was no fridge and no air conditioning which would be a problem in hot weather.The staff were all very friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags in a secure locker at the start and end of our stay and offering advice on where to eat etc.The location is good, quite close to the Convention Metro station giving easy access to the city, plenty of bars and restaurants close at hand to choose from.Would happily stay there again, and recommend to others.

"Very comfortable"

This was the best fmily hotel we have used in Paris. Family suite was 2 rooms connected by an archway. Very clean and usual french breakfast

"Exactly as described so myself and my two children were extremely happy"

Arrived late at the hotel (not a problem), asked them for hot water so I could make a cup of tea - typical English person (not a problem). All I can say is that I will definitely be staying here again. Great location and very friendly and accommodating staff. Clean and tidy rooms not a complaint from me.

HI THERE EVER ONE OUR NAMES ARE JULIE & LARRY WHEN BOOKING THIS HOTEL WE WASN`T SURE IF WE DONE THE RIGHT THING OWING TO BEING ONLY A 2 STAR WELL THE HOTEL IS VERY CLEAN AND WARM OUR ROOM AND SHOWER/LOO VERY CLEAN VERY GOOD FRENCH BREAKFAST EXCELLENT LOCATION FOR ALL THE SITESVERY HELPFUL STAFF AND OF COURSE IT WAS VERY GOOD VALUE NEAR METRO THAT TAKES YOU ANY WHERE IN PARIS FOR ABOUT £5.50 FOR 2 RETURN GOOD ! "Friendly and clean but absolutely no soundproofing what so ever"

Hotel was easy to find and a good location. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The main problem with the hotel was that I could everything the people in the room next to me were saying, could hear all the noise outside and could hear the lift moving so it was difficult to sleep with all the noise going on. Although it is a nice hotel and quite convenient in terms of location I do not think I would stay there again as it was just too noisy.

"a comfortable hotel ,fairly close to the metro with a friendly and helpful staff and well priced"

the only "complaint " we had was that the hotel was a bit far out from most of the things we wanted to go to and as we usually walk this was a bit tiring .This of course was no fault of the staff nor the hotel .One plus was the receptionist on duty recommended an excellent restaurant across the road which was a bonus .we both enjoyed our stay ,apart from walking in the rain !

"Great value Hotel, Superb Sized Rooms, Great room facilities and Excellent location"

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paris. The Ajiel was unbelievable value as in our room we had Double Sinks, a Bath & Shower, A double bedroom with flatscreen tv and a separate area with a desk bed and another tv. The staff were polite and courteous. Breakfast was simple and basic but filled a whole. Had a great time, will definitely stay there again next time we come to Paris.

Really good for a budget hotel. Everything was quite simple but good. Bathroom was fairly big and clean, shower was good. Rooms were also a decent size. The hotel is a five minute walk from the metro station and it is fairly easy to get around from that location.The staff were really friendly and the breakfast that is included is pretty good. If I return to Paris I would definitely stay there again. Couldn`t really fault it for the price.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price, especially as I`ve stayed in a shared room in a hostel for more money. 5 minute walk to the hotel from Convention Metro, its on the left hand side walking with KFC and McDonalds behind you. There`s a market right outside on the street and supermarket opposite. Bars, cinema etc by metro station. Breakfast included bread, croissant, yoghurt, toast, cereal, sometimes there was cheese. Reception were friendly, one gentleman recommended good wine which he chilled for us and advised of the last metro. Double room was big and clean and was heated, lucky enough to have two windows. No complaints. Would definitely stay there again.

"Simple,clean, affordable and a good base to visit all the Sites of Paris from"

A basic affordable hotel with simple continental breakfast until 10.00am. Towels and soaps replenished and beds made up daily. An ideal location on the southside to tour from. There is a quality street market on Sunday Wednesday a.nd Thursday and good local bistros. There is always someone on reception to handle keys which means you can come and go as you please. Take a big bag of money if you intend to go out on the rest of the town!

"An excellent place to stay!"

Overall fab place to stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming, breakfast was good and room was lovely with excellent views from the windows. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others!

"Excellent budget htotel, in a great location"

Great family hotel for those on a budget, the rooms are clean and the staff friendly, "breakfast included" was a great bonus. The location is excellent for the metro with all the main attractions are only a few stops away. The market on Thursday and Sunday morning is great but can be a bit noisy however this is not a problem when your windows are closed.

"Good hotel with great proximity to Paris."

My husband and i stayed in this hotel for three nights.We really enjoyed our stay.Basic clean and bright room.Staff especially reception staff very helpful.Near station and shops.Breakfast also included. Only downside was that it was a bit noisy from about 7am due to doors slamming.Door closers may need to be adjusted Still would recommend it though and would definitely stay there again

"Excellant hotel within 10 minutes of the centre of Paris"

Booked the hotel on line , taking a bit of a chance as t6ime was running out. I have to say the for the price we paid, the hotel was excellant. Obviously refurbished not too long ago, the hotel was clean and the staff friendly and welcoming. If I was being extemely critical about the room, it was a little on the small size and the small bathroom window could have been replaced. One final point there was no airconditioning which wasn`t a problem when we went in late September but in the height of summer it might get a little warm. Overall very pleased though, would definitely consider going back.

"Pretty basic but good value given handy location for travel links to central Paris."

Comfortable small room with basic facilities. We got a deal with breakfast included. Breakfast was good. Glad that we didn`t have to start each day with having to go out to buy breakfast elsewhere. Good Metro links within a short walk. Overall plaesed with value and location.

"Good value but basic - don`t expect the Ritz."

Enjoyed our six night stay. Excellent location for most of the top Paris sights. Very comfy bed. Weather cool despite mid-June which was great as would be very hot otherwise unless windows opened in which case it would be very noisy. Shortage of towels. Breakfast good but restaurant very noisy when metal chairs dragged over tiled floor. Staff friendly. Would stay again. Mike and Rosie.

"Top marks if you`re looking for a low budget hotel in a good area with easy access to metro."

We agree with all the positive comments above. Many of the negative ones mentioned seem to have been dealt with in the meantime. Rue de la Convention is a noisy street (the regular street markets right underneath the hotel are set up very early!) and, although the double glazing cuts out a lot of noise, without air conditioning one would like to open a window at night! Otherwise perfect hotel in every respect.

"Value for money"

Friendly staff, value for money, lovely street market on sunday on the street that the hotel is on. Nearest metro is only 7 stops from a main central line. If you arrive by metro and turn left out of the station keep walking up the street for 2 mins before the street name changes back to Convention street.
