"Friendly & Helpful Staff"

The staff at this hotel are so friendly and helpful. A special word has to go the receptionist who checked us in on Saturday evening, she was most helpful and had such a pleasant manner. I stayed with my 2 sons and the enjoyed the experience. The location is also excellent.

"Great stay"

Spent 3 nights at the Mespil in february 2013. Very impressed with everything. Didn`t use the restaurant but the breakfasts were very good with a huge choice - to suit anybody. The room and bed was very comfortable and little noise disturbance. Position of the hotel very good plenty to do (eats and drinks)in local vicinity and about a 15 minute walk to the city centre. Buses around the corner and Dart stn about 10 minutes away along the pretty canal. Dublin offers something for everyone but do be prepared for the cost of living. Much Much more expensive than uk -including London and Brighton. However we goit great deal at the hotel and would recommend this to everyone

"Excellent value for money"

I had seen the Mespil Hotel in Dublin before but never stayed there. The exceelent offer from HD was not to be missed for a 3 star hotel and I was not dissapointed. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre ( about 25 mins) and for rugby fans much closer to the new Lansdowne Road stadium. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were always helpful. The breakfast ( included in the price) was immense and I will have no hesitation in making it my first choice when I next visit Dublin

We were disappointed to find that the bistro was closed and we had difficulty in finding the hotel from the directions given on line as they started from the airport and not from any other direction. We otherwise had no other complaints. The breakfast was good.

"Excellent hotel. Fabulous stay, made my weekend break all the more enjoyable!"

Excellent hotel. ALL staff where extremely helpful and pleasant. Room was clean, well decorated and spacious. Cleaning to high standard and room cleaning was not disruptive to our stay (something that I have previously found at other hotels I have stayed in) location was good. I would definitely staff here again and have already recommended this hotel to friends and work collagues!

"Staff went out of their way to cater for me as a coeliac; I thoroughly enjoyed my stay"

I chose the Mespil because I had read that it was coeliac friendly and found this to be more than true. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care and attention they offered me as a coeliac. I stayed with my 11 year old and, again, have nothing but praise for the way he was treated. I woudl definitely stay again!

"Staff were very friendly and helpful"

My wife and I went to Dublin for the Dublin Super Cup soccer competition. We found the Mespil on an internet search and choose it because it was very competitively priced. We were pleasently surprised by the Mespil and would consider staying there again next time we are in Dublin.

"friendly and helpful staff. good location."

My wife, 2 month old baby and I stayed for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay and found the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy. Great breakfast. The location of the Mespil Hotel was good and is a 10min walk approximately to Saint Stephens Green. A real bonus for us was the free car parking at the back of the hotel, as this was very convenient with all the gear that goes along with a baby!!!! We would definitely stay again at The Mespil Hotel.

"Concert weekend"

Really enjoyed our stay here. Requested smoking rooms - no problem. the two rooms were lovely, especially the twin room with the separate sitting room and huge bathroom (an unused bedroom ideal for its new purpose. Even though it was a concert weekend the staff could not do enough to help. Dinner menu a bit limited; we had fish and chips the fish was a bit like Donegal Catch - not what we expected. But it was fine. Breakfast was lovely. Ideal location for both the Aviva and for heading into the city centre. Felt very safe walking around at 3 am. Definately would return.

We had a great stay at The Mespil. The room was very comfortable, if a bit warm. The location is very convenient for entertainment, eating and shopping. Hopefully we can secure a good rugby weekend rate and we will be back!!!!!

"Nice hotel in a good location"

Hotel was nicely decorated but in a no frills style. Room was decent size for one night, with comfy bed and nice bathroom. There were tea and coffee faciliites but no biscuits. Although room did have an iron and ironing board which is always useful. The wake up call in the morning was a knock on the door rather than a phone call, which was appreciated at 4.30am. Overall a well located, nicely decorated and very functional hotel. I would stay again.
