"Very helpful Staff"

Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, spoke english which made travel planning and our stay enjoyable and easier. Hotel was clean and tidy, they made up the room each day and had everything you need for a basic stay. Can even language change the TV if needed. Excellent location, close walk to everything. Would stay again.

"Generally good service, polite staff and reception and rooms clean"

the hotel is in the centre of a square which has a cafe. People sit in the square and socialise. At might thrtr is noise coming ftom the streets which can be heard from the rooms, possibly excited tourists. Generally, altough marked up as 3 star, I would rate it 2 star as the rooms are a bit ancient and bathrooms need better configuration. There is a free safe in the room, free TV and its all in spanish. Overall, I think its a bit overpriced for what its offering. Other than these facts I have no complaints, I would stay there again if the price was lower.

"Perfectly adequate for the purpose"

This is a basic hotel but adequate if you require a base .Rooms were clean enough and sheets changed daily.Restaurant looked fine but as a family we did not eat there as lots of places just outside the hotel for breakfast etc.Tube system excellent and can catch tube from around the corner.Only one negative is that hotel is noisy as lots of comings and goings,this did not interfere with us However if you need silence when sleeping then ask for appropriately situated rooms.Staff were friendly.Easy walk to Las Ramblas.

"Hotel Ronda. Perfectly adequate!! "

Cheap enough. Good location. Quite basic though. I wouldn`t suggest a long stay however was perfect for our short weekend trip.

The room was very dark because of the tall buildings blocking daylight so it would be beneficial if there were more electrical lighting in the room

The hotel is quite central and is close to a small but pleasant piazza. The main street La Rambla is only 10 minutes away and there are quite a few good restaurants and bakeries close by. The staff are friendly and the service was good.

"noise to 5 am every night, avoid unless you are likely to be out all night."

very noisy hotel. We were on the fifth floor and heard everything above and below and on the stairs and lift areas at all hours. The low room price encourages youngsters, without a thought for others, who came in drunk and rowdy often in gangs. The staff are great though.

"OK for one night"

Very difficult to find by car but benefit of secure parking when you do get there (although tight spaces). Fair price for basic accommodation, but we sleep with window open and consequently were kept awake by noise from local cafe until 5 a.m. (plus received a few gnat bites!)Easy walk to Place de Catalunya etc and there would appear to be little chance of getting mugged now, based on the constant flow of people during the night! Don`t know about weekdays and low season though. In summary - reasonable value and convenient location for one night, but next time would leave car behind and pay a little more for something better.

"dirty bedroom and bathroom"

bedroom smelled very strongly of damp so we had to have window open all the time, which made the air conditoning a complete waste of time, Bathroom was absolutely filthy, thick rings of grime around the bath, and long hairs everywhere. Bathroom sink and toilet were not cleaned for our 4 day stay,and twice we had to ask for towels as none had been left for us.

"More like a youth hostal"

we had over 120 16/17 year olds on the day we arrived that cam from Italy, the noise was unbearable with no control from the teachers, when we complained we where moved to another floor but then we had an other group arrive, I think that the hotel should have made us aware of the nature of the bookings as there wouldnt be anyway we would have stayed there. Breakfast was not pleasent, we waited until after 10.00 so that the kids could be out of the dining area. The breakfast buffet was a very poor show

"Value for Money"

Great Location and price used shuttle bus from airport to hotel so easy to get to. Staff all fluent english speaking and helpful. Room smallish but very clean and back from major road enough to prevent any traffic noise. Fulfilled all needs. Would recommend.

"Clean rooms, good breakfast with good choice, great location for La Ramblas, Metro etc."

Really good hotel. This is the second time we`ve stayed here, as it`s nice and clean and in a good location. It`s not a fancy 5* hotel, but you`re out most of the time anyway. Good breakfast, plenty to choose from ie. continental and english.

"Overall very happy at Hotel Ronda"

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel and our only comment on the questionaire was that the bed was very hard making it difficult to get a good nights sleep. This however changed when we went for a last wander around as our flight was later in the day and we got soaked in a very heavy down pour. We returned to the hotel where we had left our luggage and asked if there was a room where we could possibly dry of and get into some dry clothes. We were told no and that the only facility available was the toilet downstairs. We were very disappointed by this as there were several guests all in the same position trying to use one ladies/gents toilets. We feel it would have been better to allow people into a couple of rooms for very short times just to get changed and do not believe that every room in the hotel was full at that point. I realise that rooms have to be cleaned for new arrivals but feel the hotel could have accommodated guests who had given their custom in the previous days.

"Very central hotel,easy access to city and extremely friendly and helpful staff."

After reading previously posted reviews on the Hotel Ronda I wondered if I`d made a mistake.My concerns were soon gone as the staff on our arrival greeted us with a great deal of friendliness. We had a wheelchair user in our party and the dedicated bedroom was not perfect but perfectly useable. The rooms were cleaned everyday with clean sheets and towels.Breakfast was included in our stay and it was excellent. At times the sqare outside the hotel could get a little noisy but after all you are in the middle of a bustling neighbourhood. The hotel is situated about 400 mts from the university square, from here you can explore the city by bus and at 1.3 euros a trip is very affordable. All the buses are wheelchair friendly.A fabulous holiday, would certainly reccomend this hotel.

"Clean and good value"

We visited in February 4 ngihts (wife and myself) and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel as we had seen some poor views. The hotel was clean with recently retiled bathroom, staff were very accommodating. Good breakfast hot and cold. The only problem is the walls are thin as I had heard before we went and if you have noisy tourists as we did on our first night you can really hear them coming back late and drunk. But we were fortunate in that there was a business convention on so a lot of business men and families who were quieter. I can image it would be bad if you had hen and stag parties there.

I read worrying reviews about this hotel before visiting and was pleasantly surprised - no it is not The Ritz but we were not paying for the Ritz. Location was perfect, staff were very helpful and friendly, lovely choice of breakfast - something for everybody including fresh fruit, cereals, continental selection and croissants, and hot selection of sausage, bacon, scrambled/hard boiled eggs, help yourself to toast etc and choice of juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Room was cleaned daily and towels changed. What more do you want on a city break.

"Would be happy to recommend this hotel to friends and family"

We did not have great expectations after reading some of the reviews however we were pleasantly surprised. The accommodation was clean and the staff were very friendly. We had excellent linen and towels in the room and it was good to have a safe for our belongings. The breakfast was very plentiful and you had a good variety of dishes all in pleasant surroundings. The only problem we encountered was that the walls were thin and you could hear people in the next room. The Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and the hotel was located close to the main areas giving easy access as it only took us about 10/15 minutes to walk there, also as a group of 4 women including a 17 year old we felt very safe. We would recommend this hotel.

"QUESTION A THREE STAR RATING - MORE A TWO"

Stayed at the Hotel Ronda from 23rd to 28th June 2007. On arrival we were told that our double room was not ready until the following morning but a twin bedded room was available - not a problem. The problem was the noise from the street below from local youths playing football until the early hours. We moved to our double room the following night only to be kept awake most of the night through to 5.00 a.m. in the morning from young men (German or Dutch) causing problems on our floor. The third night we were moved yet again! This time to the fourth floor at the end of the wing - success! A good night`s sleep. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Not recommended for middle aged couples this time of year! More suited to the youngsters. Breakfast adequate but not much choice.
