My daughter and I stayed at the Ambra Palace for five days and can`t fault it. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, often going that bit extra to make our stay a good one. The twin room we had was spacious, (often not the case in Rome hotels), and the hotel is brilliantly positioned for the Termini station which allows easy access to all major sights. Staff were always on hand to advise and help with our excursions. The buffet breakfast was delicious and we always enjoyed drinks in the bar (with all the free nibbles we were given as well)! We`ll definitely stay there again!

Good quality tourist hotel, staff very cooperative. location very close to Termini easy walk to station. Metro just round corner, ATM just round corner. Area is an Asian community, but no contrary to many reviews not particularly seedy area although common to most of Rome grafiti is everywhere!. Little shop down street to buy drinks and fruit. Would stay again same hotel.

"The hotel was ideally positioned, clean and good value"

The hotel was ideally positioned, clean and good value. The only disappointment was that I had specifically requested two rooms together that were connected by a door, as we had children. We booked thi shotel because they could do that for us, as it was agreed at the time of booking by the hotel. However, when we got there they disappointingly did not have the 2 rooms together.

"Lovely hotel in excellent location with great service"

Lovely hotel in central location (just a few minutes walk from Termini train station, the Metro and the majority of monuments for sightseeing). The room was modern, clean and spacious with every requirement catered for. Staff was friendly and service was excellent. Would recommend this hotel and intend to use it again.

"A nice hotel with helpful staff"

The hotel is very nice and the staff were very helpful. The location is convenient but the area appears to be run down. The parking arrangements are not good although I managed to get a spot outside the door but it had to be vacated before 07.00 hours or the car would have been towed away.

"Fantastic hotel, lovely and helpful staff"

The hotel was lovely. We were upgraded to a superior room which was huge and very comfortable. We were intinially a bit worried about the area the hotel was in but it turned out to be fine. Its a 5 minute walk from the Termini Train Station and there is a subway within a 3 minute walk. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn`t have done more to make us feel welcome. We would definately stay there again.

The hotel was very clean, staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The fact that the hotel was within walking distance of the train station and the metro was just around the corner was a bonus. It enabled us to travel in Rome quite easily.

Hotel is near the station but in a reasobnable part of town. we walked to most of the sites of interest but could use the metro when exhausted.We were upgraded and received a welcome drink on arrival.Thoroughly recommed this hotel in its class

A good hotel, almost the 4-star it claims.The room doors are not well soundproofed, so there can be some disturbances in the morning as people get up and go to breakfast etc. The area would be a bit dodgy if you are on your own, otherwise no problems at all.

"HOTEL FANASTIC,AREA APPAULING"

JUST RETURNED FROM ROME 29TH AUG 2008 WHAT A PLACE TO SEE. THE AMBRA PALACE WAS WAS A FAB HOTEL STAFF WERE GREAT ROOM CLEANLINESS WAS SECOND TO NONE CLEAN LINEN EVERY DAY NEVER KNOWN THAT ANYWHERE I HAVE EVER STAYED BEFORE.HOWEVER THE AREA THE HOTEL IS SITUATED IN WAS RUN DOWN JUST TO SAY THE LEAST.BEING THREE WOMEN ON OUR OWN WE FELT THE NEED FOR TAXIS TO GO OUT OF THE AREA WHICH WE DID OFTEN. TREVI FOUNTAIN AREA IS DEFINATLEY THE PLACE TO BE SO NEXT TIME THATS WE WILL WILL BE STAYING IT WAS ABSOLUTLEY A M A Z I N G AND THATS TO SAY THE LEAST

The hotel was excellent. It was situated within walking distance of the main train station and just round the corner from the metro which took you to all the main tourist attractions in the city. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Rome.

Had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff, reception and other staff were very helpfuland courteous. A slight problem occurred but was dealt with very satisfactorily by the manager and staff. Their efforts are to be complemented.

Location:The hotel is literally round the corner from the Vittorio Emmanuelle metro station so extremely convenient for travel around the city, especially to get back after a tiring day!The reception staff are very welcoming and are extremely helpful.All other members of staff were very polite and friendly.The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated with all the facilities needed for a comfortable break, and of a good size.The breakfast choice is excellent and certainly kept us going until the compulsory ice-cream parlours in the city beckoned dring the afternoon.

"Great service, but in a poor location"

This hotel is located close to the main railway station which is great for getting around Rome and to and from the airport. But, the area is a little run down with a high proportion of Indian and Chinese retaurants. The service was excellent from all staff, they appreciated my attempts at speaking Italian and then communicated in very good English.

"Clean rooms but in need of an update,room size not very big but ok for a short stay. "

I chose this hotel as other guests had scored it high, however in my experience this is not a 4 star and would only just make 3. The rooms are quite small and in need of refurb although very clean. This hotel is ok for a short break however if you are travelling alone or are nervous I would not recommed this area as it is on the rundown/seedy side. Overall I was disappointed, the breakfast was mainly continental style with the addition of tough scrambled or boiled eggs. Personally I will return to Rome as it has charm and beauty but this hotel has none and I will stay somewhere else next time.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and well presented. Breakfast was more than adequate with an excellent choice and variety. We did, however, find dinner slightly disappointing as the menu was less than exciting with few choices, although the quality of the food was very good. One negative point would be the actual directions to find the hotel from the train station. These were quite ambiguous and consequently there was a delay and some stress involved in finding the hotel. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return and recommend the Ambra Palace.
