"Excellent choice of hotel"
We visited London for our Ruby wedding anniversary. Hotel was just off Oxford Street. Really handy and good position in the city. We arrived early, and was directed to our room. Room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. From fresh bed linen, lovely soft towels and all the toiletries you required. Iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, also a safe which we didn`t use. After a long day out sight seeing, we went back to the hotel for a freshen up. We visited the restaurant in the hotel and had a lovely anniversary meal of a bottle of wine and 2 delicious steaks. The breakfast was beautifully presented, with just about the right amount of choice, from cereals, yoghurt, porridge, fresh fruit. All English breakfast was red hot and replenished frequently. There was also continental. The staff were all second to none, every member of staff made out stay very welcome. A must for the regular theatre goer. We will definitely be returning

"Disappointing stay"
Very cold weather not at all offset by our freezing cold room. Bedroom "heating" was via air con unit which was totally ineffective. Bathroom towel radiator was lovely. Had to use bath towels and coats as bed covers to improve. Room not made up for our second day despite our doorhandle notice outside asking for room to be made up. Breakfast items were barely warm and plates were not warm/hot. Really quite disappointing for a 4 star.

"Lovely but the room wasn`t great "
The hotel was lovely and the breakfast was great. We were able to check in early and check out was really smooth. When we requested water after 11pm it was brought to our room quickly. The room, while spacious, was not so great. We couldn`t get cold water out of the tap and the towel rail was constantly on in the bathroom making it too hot and making all smells linger.

air conditioning unit was leaking throughout the night and consequently items of clothing were left wet and unwearable?. the stains on the wall suggested that this was an historic problem? reported to staff but was addressed by an assurance that this would be investigated? no response as yet!

Mold in bathroom. Needed repainting. Bed side lights were in the way. It was a lot of money and I felt a bit let down to be honest. But breakfast was nice and staff very friendly.

"Not as expected, for the price! "
The room was cramped with the fold down bed. Step over bath to shower! No usb chargers at all, had to borrow an adapter, when I asked one of your staff why they were not in the room, I was informed that the hotel is 150 years old!! Not the reply I was expecting in 2025! The dining room was draughty as it is directly in line with the main door! On a more positive note, the cleanliness was very good, as was the food! I would not recommend the hotel.

This is the 3rd time that we`ve had an overnight stay at the Thistle Holborn gor a theatre break and we`ve never been disappointed. Great hotel and staff. Yin, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly and we were given an upgrade to a suite whuch was great as there was 3 in the party. Thank you for another great stay.

Everything was excellent apart from the bar. It closed at 11pm and we got back from the theatre at 10.58pm. The barman was a bit grumpy and didn`t really want to serve us. He told me there was no beer when clearly there was. I thought the winw was expensive - even by london standards
