"A charming stay in comfort."

The hotel provides lovely warming atmosphere, supported with informed and welcoming staff. A nice smile goes a long way in a city that can sometimes be stressful for a tourist. The beds were comfortable, the rooms exceptionally clean and well maintained, the only problem being the bathroom was a little pokey. Otherwise we enjoyed the luxury of an afordable hotel in London with an excellent number of beds!

"Adequate, just don`t look down!"

We arrived at 11:00 pm after a harrowing day trying to fly out of Heathrow. The desk clerk was very nice, however, took a phone call while we proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait. The lobby was very nice so my hopes were raised for our room. And then we got off the elevator and looked upon the hall carpet which is in dire need of replacement! To say it is stained would be putting it mildly. I was afraid from that of what the room would be like but was pleasantly surprised when we entered. Spacious, clean, and mostly comfortable. The outside facade of the hotel is undergoing renovation and hopefully hall carpets and some fresh paint on the walls will be included. If it weren`t for those carpets, our rating would be much higher. And the biggest consideration is we only paid £42 for the room - that`s total cost, not per person, in London!

"Good location. Basic room. Friendly Staff."

The hotel was under some construction when we stayed but that didn`t ruin our stay. The room was really basic and the decor was really dated throughout the hotel but its clean and comfortable. As we were out and about a lot it didn`t seem to matter that our room wasn`t very fancy but possibly over priced for what we did get.We ordered some room service and were quite annoyed to find a £2 tray charge on the arrival of the food which wasn`t mentioned anywhere. Not quite sure how you get the food for the price stated on the menu!Overall a clean, comfortable and hassle free stay.

"Made to feel very welcome as soon as I arrived at the Reception Desk"

Comfortable bar in the evening; good breakfast in the morning. Only booked for 1 night, so didn`t really get the full ambience of the hotel as we were out in the City most of the evening - but I would definitely consider the Lancaster Gate again ... locatiopn was excellent, and it was a very quiet area.

"BUDGET HOTEL IS A BIG SURPRISE"

ARRIVING AT HOTEL TO FIND IT HAD BEEN TAKEN OVER A WEEK BEFORE WAS A BIT SCARY - BUT DONT WORRY THE STAFF WERE EXCELLENT AT SORTING OUT MIX UP OVER ROOM- THE ROOM ITSELF WAS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE WITH HAIRDRYERS AND TEA/COFFEE AN PLEASANT ADDITION TO FACILITIES AND BREAKFAST EXCELLENT WITH PLENTY OF CHOICE - WILL STAY AGAIN

our room was not available at time of book in,but the staff were very apologetic and curtious. breakfast we had to wait again, but we felt sorry for the staff who were working so hard. there should have been a sign outside the door saying please wait to until you are seen to,other than that my wife and i enjoyed our night at the hotel and hope to stay again

"No surprises"

The hotel was exactly what we expected! We were over night for a gig in Hyde Park, easily within walking distance. Clean room, decor in bathroom a little tired but great shower. Breakfast was a little disorganized, however when we ate it was lovely food! Great for one or two nights!

The only complaint i have with the hotel is we paid for a double bed and we got two single beds we got5 our right room eventually .The staff were excellant food was good and we would come back again

Room was very small but clean. Bathroom was a good size with an excellent shower (good water pressure). Refreshments in the room left a lot to be desired. Milk cartons were off & there was only one cup other than that the room was comfortable. Hotel was nice & quiet. Staff were polite & helpful.

Our room was at the back and had no view at all which was disappointing although being out and about all day we did not need it. Rooms across the corridor looked out at front of hotel.

we had a lovely stay staff very helpful and friendly my only concern is the snack menu availabilty i.e. sanwiches cannot be order after 11pm when you arrive later from a show etc and feeling peckish that would of been nice to order room service.

This hotel is in a wonderful location. The rooms are very clean and breakfast was great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The use of bag storage on day of departure was well worth it. Thank you.

"Good short stay hotel"

Close to the tube and within walking distance to some central attractions (weather permitting). Well sized room and clean. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was more than adequate. Would defiantly book again next time I`m in London.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a good size. I did not eat there as there plenty of places near by. I would use this hotel again as it is an excellent base to tour London.
