The Hotel was generally good but the carpet was threadbare in our room. However, I rang twice in the preceding week before our arrival to request gluten free options for breakfast. this was promised. I then checked when we arrived and was assured that it was in hand. When we arrived for breakfast the next day there was NOTHING and the manager had not been told. She then sent someone out to buy some food and we were then able to have breakfast. She was very helpful in what was an extremely annoying situation.

"Exceptionally squeaky floorboards"
It would be fair to say that it was not easy to fall asleep at this hotel as every time the person in the room above us or someone walked by in the corridor all the floor boards protested. After finally having fallen asleep, we were awoken at 2am by someone entering our room - it would appear that the night receptionist had booked someone else into our room. Not a word of apology when I telephoned reception....On a lighter note, the swimming pool was nice, breakfast was nice and the shower worked well.

"An oasis of tranquility and quality"
Unpretentious efficiency, polite welcome and superb comfort following a day of taxing schedule. Genuinely far from ordinary.

"Clean convenient and a pool!"
Very handy for buses into west end, short walk to tube station. Handy for shopping centre and Kensington gardens just across the road. Ideal for shopping theatre trip.

"Good solid hotel ideal for my short business trip"
Despite reading bad reviews I found this to be a pleasent hotel. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet more than adequate to see you through the day ahead. There was a slight drone from the nearby underground but not enough to trouble you. Overall very impressed by this hotel and would definitely recommend it for value for money.

"Overall disappointment"
Room size was acceptable and general layout good. Actual cleanliness level good, but carpet frayed, patchy and badly stained in places; bathroom spotless, but bath panel damaged and ceiling needed repairing as roughly cut out hatch apparent. No biscuits with the tea/coffee making setup! Breakfast disappointing - scrambed eggs came in solid slices, poor layout at breakfast and no instructions on how to find the various parts of the breakfast; Reception confusing as one member greeted, another cut across her to check us in and then both dealt with a non resident asking directions whilst I stood waiting! Staff were pleasant, but lacked finesse.

"Could do better."
Pleasant staff. However no bellboys to help with baggage at all, you were expected to take luggage to your room yourself. Were told "free wi-fi" but site charged up $30 for week`s access, which then didn`t work. Threadbare carpet in room which was otherwise fine. Would say more 3-stars than 4. Many signs (and most of the staff) were Spanish so would suit a Spanish speaker very well.

"New Years Eve"
Having chosen to take the girlfriend to London for the new year the hotel seemed the right choice. Its easy to find, had good access, nice location, lots of local restraunts etc. BUT, the hotel was having work done when we got there (didnt look nice), the room was small, and it was noisy! An OK hotel it your planning on a short stay, but not asvisable for 3 nights or more. Hope this helps.

"Loud renovations were not metioned when booking"
Lovely staff but we were never informed of the massive renovations going on at the hotel! We asked for a double room and were put in a tiny, rotten looking room without a proper door on the bathroom and old worn out bed and carpet! The staff were kind enough to move us,however we were put at the front of the hotel so were woken up very early by the buliders outside our window!

This hotel suited our needs as we were on a theatre break and spent ver little time there. Warm and comfortable obviously recently decorated. Hopefully new carpets will follow as the are I`m front of reception is slightly off putting as it is worn threadbare on the seams. Room very small, bed very small but very clean and comfortable. Noisy as next to rail line! Breakfast average, Irritating not to have milk on table and nowhere to put tea bag, why not use a teapot and milk jug! Stamford egg a strange colour and taste . Staff all happy and polite and helpful. When booking no reference to it being Anglo/Spanish. Don`t book your taxi to Kings Cross station at reception go out and flag down a black cab, we nearly missed our train as taxi booked by hotel staff had no idea how to get there! We ended up getting out when we stopped at red lights and finding our own taxi, a nightmare! However the hotel is very suitable for clean warm place to lay ones head, not for a weeks holiday stay!

Hi,I like the stay in the hotel, although the room (110) was very very small, probably due to the fact we arrive late on check in day so were given what was left. Otherwise, bathroom nice and powerful shower. Very nice staff on the breakfast service, always smiling, and helpful. Bye

"Very basic but pleasant"
I read the other reviews so was expecting the worst. Hotel very basic not really 3 star. Needs completely refurbishing. Rooms basic. Small LCD telly which you can`t see when you lay down, didn`t have the channels-not even BBC just some random freeview ones. Balcony doors didn`t close-with scaffolding outside the whole hotel not safe. Holes in the carpet. Bathroom mouldy. Breakfast nice but breakfast room a little damp smelling. Would recommend paying a little extra to stay somewhere more cared for but staff really pleasant.

"some areas let this hotel down"
Carpet in the room was threadbear infact almost worn into a hole at the foot of one of the beds and also grubby in places. The air conditioning in theroom did not work, the cooked breakfast did not look at all appetising especially the eggs although the rest of the breakfast was good. The television had very poor reception and was barely watchable at times. The hotel must have been once very grand but is now sorely in need of refurbishment. The staff were friendly however

Was disappointed with the Henry V111 Hotel. Their website makes it look as though it is in pristeen condition but in actual fact it needs a good refurbish inside as well as what they doing outside. The carpet was fraid and the desk was in need of some attention. The breakfast was ok but not up to some other hotel standards of the same price range. The bar was only open Monday to Friday not Saturday and Sunday which I could not understand.Overall not good and don`t think I would go there again.

"Location was excellent and staff pleasant and courteous. I also took advantage of the free internet"
The single room/bathroom was very clean but very small and basic. (Think backpacker-style accommodation). There was plenty of hot water and the water pressure in the shower was fabulous. However, the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever encountered as was the pillow. I also heard every footstep from he guest/s staying on the floor above my room. The clock on the wall was in need of a new battery as it never moved in the two days I was there. The reception on the very small television was always hazy. The hot English breakfast, which was included in the price, was adequate and the staff very attentive. Overall, I was not impressed with my room but the staff and the Bayswater location almost made up for it.

"Good value for £100 in London. "
Stayed in a rubbish hotel in London for £105 last week. This one was £98 and generally most agreeable Nice single room, clean, well maintained (although the aircon was u/s) with adequate facilities for a couple of nights, pleasant staff, good breakfast. A really major downside however is the Underground (above ground here) and bang next to the hotel. It would be very difficult to get decent sleep earlier than midnight/later than 5am in the summer - even with windows closed it was very noisy and caused vibration.

"Friendly staff; good breakfast"
Useful location - easy walk to Paddington or Hyde Park, but quiet street. Clean in terms of bedding and towels. Needs a little refurbishment (eg carpet in room) and tv needs updating (ie more digital channels). Didn`t use bar or room service, but good I expect. Would stay again.

"Nice Hotel, get what you pay for."
Stayed for one night. Reception very slow to meet and greet, needs improvement! Had a slight issue with breakfast. Paid for full english at the time of booking £10.00 would liked to have been offered buffet breakfast. Full English not worth paying £10 for. Was not offered any bread/toast with breakfast has to ask the waitress for some. Also the only option for drinks was hot drinks would have been nice to have been offered juice, when we asked the waitress if we could have some juice she was far from impressed. The buffet breakfast is cheaper than full english and we would most deffinately have the buffet if we stay again, I would rather pay £10 for that than the full english.

The hotel is being renovated but it wasn`t an inconvenience. I had a single room which had everything that was needed. The room was spotless and the towels were nice and fluffy. Very good location - a few minutes walk from Queensway underground. The breakfast was very disappointing.
