"Very good clean and tidy the staff were very helpful."
Just two minor chriticisms. The lift is ver slow and you need to wait an age for it to arrive. The staff also use the same lift and on occasions found ourselves in the left with old boxes and linen. Also chamber maid came to clean our room on two occasions when we were still in bed . Both times at approxomately 0830am. Not very good.

"Pleasurable stay at Rydges, despite renovations"
I stayed at Ryges Kensington for 5 nights while taking in 2 concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. Short walking distance to hall, as well as 2 wonderful museums and other good retaurants, which was great! My small room was just right for me and beautifully refurbished. The staff (reception, dining, bar, cleaning) was excellent and helpful and nice. I understand the remodeling and while there was some hammering, etc. as a result of the work, I was out of my room for most of that. The continental breakfast was very nice and filling. I would recommend this hotel, especially in another month when they get `the basement rooms` redone.

We had an extended stay as we could not get home because of the snowy weather and the hotel were very accommodating. However, we were woken up by the fire alarm at 5.15 one morning and were then disturbed at regular intervals as it was checked. Have no quarrel with this but a notice from the Management apologising for the disturbed night would have been nice.

A good hotel for short stays and a comfortable sleep (apart from the fire alarm going off several times). Bar area was small and cosy.

"Overall good accommodation"
I booked an executive room and was pleased with the overall look and feel of the room. It was a pity that the ensuite looked like an added room within a room but that was a minor point. the most disappointing aspect was that the hotel bar closed at 11pm even to hotel guests.

Rooms are desperately in need of updating. I stayed in a single room which was like someone`s dodgy spare room-grubby carpets and pretty small. Wasn`t much of a problem as I was only there for 1 night and didn`t spend much time in the room but I won`t be rushing back in future. Reception staff very pleasant during the little contact I had with them.

"Great Location and Value"
My daughter and I stayed for 6 nights. Room a little small but we did not spend that much time there. It is located very close to the Picadilly Line. Very clean and comfortable. Did not purchase the breakfast package however as there are several restaurants close by a lot cheaper. Would definately stay there again.

"Elegant, good location"
I had a room on the first floor with high ceiling, stucco and chandelier. Not large but enough room to walk around the bed, likewise the bathroom is quite small but well laid out. Tasteful reproduction furniture in good condition. Couldn`t open the sash window but there is A/C.

We booked a family room and the sold it on to someone else!!!!!!!!! The satellite channels were not working properly so only had limited tv options. Staff were not friendly. Wouldn`t stay there again.

Hotel is in a nice area of London... and near to the subway..Staff are good...nice main entranceSingle rooms are very small (I`m 6`3" and my feet and head would touch both walls while laying in the bed). I upgraded the room and they only had one available in the basement... This was perfectly fine except that there was a lot of noise coming through from the main floor. (I needed to use earplugs to sleep.)

"Clean and Comfortable"
I had a single room which is the smallest I have ever seen (and I used to work in London hotels). It was basically no more than a corridor. That said it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff were pleasant. Don`t recommend the single rooms unless all you are doing is sleeping in them if they are all as small as room 201

Rooms were clean, reception was efficient. Bar was clean and friendly. for a hotel situated where it is the Ridges flags outside need a wash if people walking or driving by are to get a better impression of the hotel before walking in. The hotel corridor carpets require shampooing, the hotel foyer was clean and left a good impression.

We were put in the basement, the whole area needed refurbishing down therem and the bathroom had black mould inbetween the tiles etc. Main lobby and lounges OK but even the toilets in that area were not up to standard.

Excellent location---just five or six stops to Piccadilly and Leicester Sqaure and West End, all without changing underground lines. Perhaps go with standard room, as executive room was not all that executive. Difficult to find a restuarant open after 11, which is problematic if you`re in town to see a play. My advice: eat in the West End area. All in all, a very good hotel in a very convenient location.

This hotel is right across the road from the tube station which was really handy . The hotel itself was fine, the room was small but had everything we needed. It was very warm, the air-con didnt work. When we asked at reception we were told somebody would come up to look at it but nobody ever came. We were never told what time check out was and assumed it was 12pm, but by 11.05 we got a call from reception to know why we hadn`t checked out yet and then we got another call to say we were going to be charged 1/2 the nightly rate for checking out late. We used one bottle of lemonade from the mini bar which was £2.50 but they handed us a bill for the mini bar of £10. Other than that we had a good experience here.

"Good value overall"
For the price, this was v good value. Larger than average single room, fairly good decor. Bathroom was newly tiled / grouted and immaculate. Room was at rear of hotel so nice and quiet - would have been noisy at the front as directly on Gloucester Road. Continental breakfast a bit steep at £10, but I could have gone out. Handy for the tube. Will stay there again.

"A well-located hotel set within a stunning Georian building."
The hotel has a certain old world charm. Rooms, whilst being compact, are clean and well cared for. The bar and lounge have character in keeping with the hotel and staff always helpful. The location could hardly be improved for visits to the museums and access to the tube is easy for travel across the city. In summary, a good base for London visit.If paying a discounted rate the hotel provides excellent value and is recommended.

Our room was quite nice, was well appointed and was spacious. The reception staff were poor however and the public areas have all the warmth of a waiting room. Still, plenty of places to eat and drink nearby and overall a good, if highly impersonal hotel.

Overall impressed and pleased with my choice. Executive room to a high standard and the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Room not large compared to some but not a drawback - its big enough. If being critical could say bathroom was too small. Interactive TV system was not working properly but in a 2 night stay didnt affect me too much. One word of warning - asked hotel to book me a cab for the airport and the cost was almost twice that of other cab firms in London, so book your own if you know of one.

"Rydges Kensington Plaza"
The hotel was a good choice for us giving quick easy access to Gloucster road tube station with a direct line to Picadilly circus for the theatre. Service was good with helpful attentive staff. Rooms were clean and well appointed but getting near the point where they should be refurbished. overall very good value
