"Shabby, run down."

No heating despite cold weather. The blanket in the wardrobe was damp. I wouldn`t even let my mother-in-law stay in this place.

"Excellent location although the front of the building could be more prominent."

Great Irish breakfast but only one girl serving for which, she deserves a medal having to cope with such a demand .

"Never even stayed there"

After a lot of messing around trying to check in, being sent away a number of times due to the room not being ready, and a fuse going in our room, they eventually admitetd that they had overbooked themselves, not realising that they had booked in a few large parties the day before. They then moved us to another hotel in the city, the Dublin City Inn, which is apparently common practice. This hotel was not quite a central as Lynams, however it did seem to be of the same quality. This hotel was fine for what we wanted, and apart from constantly having to tell the staff that we didn`t have to pay for breakfast as we had already paid lynams for it, our stay was pleasent. It was however hassle that we didn`t need to waste a proportion of our very short holiday on. I can`t really review Lynams as I never actually stayed there, I saw the reception, and thats it. As i booked to stay there and they moved us to another hotel I can`t really give them a good review.

"friendly staff and very clean room but lift out of order"

my husband is asthmatic and found the four flights of stairs very difficult so no lift was very disappointing the room was lovely and clean and all the usual supplied. the biggest drawback was the noise of some of the other residents the walls were very thin however the price and convenience of being right on O Connell street means we would go back if the lift is working!

"Great for a weekend stay"

Pros- Right in the centre with bus links, tours, pubs, shops and everything you might need on the doorstep. I got a very reasonable rate of £75 for a double for 2 nights so it was very good value for money. Also the room was very clean, well furnished and large. Cons- Loud outside, but being in the centre that was to be expected. The walls within the hotel were quite thin. I didn`t feel my things were very safe in the room as they operate a leave the key at reception when you leave the hotel system. I know many hotels do this, but as the staff on reception seemed to change so often through the day I didn`t feel anyone could recognise me and so I felt anyone could have picked up my key when I was out. All in all though I was extremely pleased witht he hotel and it`s friendly staff.

"great location but service was terrible - as was the restaurant"

Location was very convenient and the bed was clean. Otherwise it was poor quality and needs some work. The wallpaper was dirty and damaged, the bathroom was uncleaned and there were masonry holes in the walls left unrepaired. We only had hand towels - unbeknownst to us - resulting in a "planes, trains and automobiles" moment and the staff were reluctant to solve this despite several requests for full sized towels. After much effort and discussion we got two larger, but still not full-sized towels with stains on them. The maid service was also incredibly lazy. We stayed for three nights and saw no sign of a maid service until the last evening when, while at dinner, the bed was made - over all the things that we had left on the bed, there was no other evidence of a maid service. Also the food in the restaurant below the hotel was not cheap and was not great.

"Room still not made up at 5pm on Sunday. "

On Sunday at 4pm we returned to find the front door, we rang the bell and got no answer. We had to enter via the cafe. Monday mornings breakfast was not cooked enough. A replaement was brought, but breakfast had already been rewined. Over all the room was clean and tidy.

"Traveller Beware"

For a hotel located in such close proximity to all the attractions in Dublin we were shocked at how poorly looked after and just plain dirty the accommodation was! We were placed in Room 3 at the outset of our 4 day visit, on entering the room the curtains were hanging off, the walls had filthy hand trails (not prints!) over it`s expanse, and the toilet was literally black. After complaining we were moved to a moderately better room however it has to be said that no one should have to stay in conditions that are sub human and unfit for habitation in the first place. If the hoteliers are wondering why no one is eating their restaurant then they need to take a look at the overall cleanliness of the hotel, if the rooms are thriving bacterial farms, what must the kitchen be like?!

"Great place to stay in Dublin - clean and affordable"

Cosy, friendly hotel bang in the centre of Dublin with all requirements nearby including cinema, supermarket, information office and airport bus.

"Great price for what you get!"

This hotel is in a great place on a main attraction road in Dublin. The bus to and from the airport stops right outside and if you go on any tours the bus picks you up right outside the doors as well. The room was neat and tidy and it was great for our two night stay. The only downfalls were there was only 3 television stations and the view was of a big air conditioner but that did not bother us at all.

Hi, Whilst the hotel is in an excellent location we thought the cleanliness and facilities were below standards. The lift was out of service for the first 2-days. Although reasonably clean the bathroom smelt of urine, it should have at least been discinfected. The light above the sink did not work and the shaving light only worked for a while when the diffuser was pushed. The hot tap at the sink only had a trickle. We did report these faults every day but but nothing was done. When you consider we would normally stay at Cassidy`s where costs are very simular there is a massive difference in standards. best regards Mick Scullion

"Cenral City Hotel with Great Rates"

This is a central city small hotel that offers a reasonable restaurant and bar. The pay two nights and get a third free deal was very competitive. Rooms were clean and the one I had of reasonable size. Staff were very helpful. I would definitely wish to stay there again.

"Had a great time at The Lynham Hotel"

I have no complaints for what we paid it was very good. A light bulb didnt work in the bathroom,I told receptionist and it was replaced in about an hour no problems. All the staff were very friendly, the bed was very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent and reasonable. Ok the hotel could do with a make over and the stairs creaked but it was all part of the experience. I loved it right in the middle of the shops no problems getting there and back to airport , bus stop right outside. Will definately stay there again.

"Clean, tidy, ample room sizes, fab location"

12 of us girls stayed in this hotel over the Halloween weekend 2010 - we found the staff pleasant, the hotel was situated right in the middle of town. Easy walk to supermarkets, bars, clubs, shops, cafes.. The room sizes were ample, cant complain. We are planning to come back again and we will stay here!!!

"Excellent Central Location Clean Basic Hotel"

We got the room half price but if I had paid the full 75e I would have been disappointed. The room was on the 3rd floor at the front so it was very hot (there were 2 electric fans provided and it was October!) The room was very clean but in disrepair and the sink was precariously plasterered to the wall. There was a kettle with tea and coffee provided, a TV and hairdryer. The cafe food was lovely and good value. The airport buses stop right outside, and its right in the city centre. I would stay there again if it was half price again but I would expect a bit of luxury at full price

"Great location"

Great city centre location, with direct access for the bus service to and from the airport. Comfortable clean rooms and a great breakfast choice. I have and would recommend this hotel for a short city centre break.

"Brilliant Location"

took some finding, as its only small, best bet is to get to the spier on o`connell street, and look for mcdonalds on your left. due to its location you get city centre noise, but what do you expect for the price? staff friendly, room a bit shabby, water from bath looked like it was from the river with scum. parking is a nightmare, hotel told us the maximum would be 12EURO, Wrong... 20. good to stay at on foot, need alcohol to get to sleep.

"Drafty windows, stains and hairs on sheets, bad old carpets, bugs."

Very obviously a failed upgrade of a former hostel. OK as a hostel but very poor value for money as a hotel is the best recomendation I can give it.

"In need of updating"

Although adequate, the hotel could and needs to be greatly improved. We were in Room3, definitely NOT a room with a view! The window pane was cracked, the net curtains grey and did nothing to hide what was outside. Our view was of several air conditioning units, from McDonalds next door, these were obviously both smelly & noisy when the window was opened for fresh air, piles of cigarette ends and a McDonalds bag which had obviously been thrown onto the roof!! The room was clean but in need of redecorating, all linen was fresh and clean, the bathroom too needed redecorating, mould around the broken shower screen, loose toilet seat & looroll holder. The public areas were ok, a new stair carpet was laid whilst we were there, the staff polite and the breakfast ok. The public loo, downstairs in the restaurant was dirty and quite frankly not pleasant to use! Would we go here again? Dublin yes, Lynams , probably not.

"Central location, reasonably proced and easy access to/from Airport by Bus"

Hotel is clean and has all the basic aminities. The room had a decent on suite, Tea, coffee etc were provided in the room and over the 2 night stay the room was cleaned. We had a room at the back on request so there was very little noise. Staff were helpful and polite. we had room only which is the best option as there are plenty of cafes to choose from. Highly recommend and would use again

"needed a facelift 500 years ago"

The room window would not close as it was hanging on 1 hinge. Only half a curtain so you could not pull it over the window. Extractor on the wall right outside the room. Extremely noisy. Someone at the hotel could not get in late at night, so kicked the front door until another guest in the hotel let them in. He then started to try and kick in room doors. No night porter, no security, nothing.
