"Very nice hotel in lovely grounds, friendly staff and clean room."

The only negative was being charged over £9 for a glass of wine that tasted a bit stale.

we were attending a wedding, the whole event went very well and the staff were excellent. The room (410) needs tidying up, it is a bit tatty and tired.

"excellent hotel set in beautiful gardens"

A beautiful hotel inside & out set in lovely gardens alongside the thames. We are a family & I am disabled they immediately offered me a disabled family room even though I hadn`t booked it. The staff were very polite and nice whilst being approachable. Would recommend to anyone who wants a little bit of luxury at a reasonable price. We were also within walking distance of the swimming pool with spa, sauna & steam room (big fluffy towels provided) although I did use the compliemtary dressing gown to go to the swimming pool. Onsite security with cctv so you feel totally safe. Would definately stay here again!!

Beautiful building and gardens; lovely staff - so very hospitable; just wish the breakfast had been cooked to order.

"Magical!"

We stayed here for our anniversary and my birthday celebration, the hotel itself is breathtaking, the room was huge and immaculate, the location couldn`t be more perfect and the staff were lovely, especially the evening staff. We felt relaxed and welcome even though the hotel itself is at such a high standard. We`re definitely coming back again! Wonderful!

"The hotel has good facilities (golf/gym/bar/snooker) and friendly and helpful staff."

For a four star hotel, the rooms are a little basic: and to compete - if that is what is desired - at the more luxury end some thought needs to applied to modernisation. If this is contemplated I would build out the gym more, as this is a greater requirement at hotels now.

Noisy pipes on first night, reception staff arranged room swap to west wing. Lovely room with an outlook onto the grounds and river. Friendly staff. Great breakfasts that keep you full all day.

Excellent location, very good food and extremely well trained ad professional staff. The rooms are lovely and the breakfasts memorable.

Only slight issues were the windows in the block opposite the windsor suite were a bit scabby in places and I thought the shower was a bit fine, felt like needles on my skin. However, I did have a massive hangover so it could have been that.

"A weekend to remember."

An excellent venue for the wedding we attented with helpful and attentive staff in beautiful surroundings. My wife and i will certainly be returning for our own pleasure and relaxation. From start to finish it was an enjoyable experience.

"Lovely relaxing weekend"

I`ve been wanting to visit the hotel for years. Rooms lovely, food terrific. Staff very attentive. If only we could have gotten our heads round how the shower attachment worked!! But fully recommended.

"Excellent staff but hotel itself could do with some tender love and attention."

Restaurant very good. Service excellent. Bathroom rather shabby, especially grouting and paintwork, plus difficulty getting into shower due to sink and shower door blocking.Great setting, Just felt it lacked attention to detail on maintenance and presentration.

"Our party of six had a really great weekend in comfortable surroundings served by great staff."

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are definitely going to repeat the stay. There was plenty for us to do in the winter next time we will try the Summer. We are all sure that it will be even more special.

A very welcoming, clean and well furbished hotel. Excellent breakfast, good quality food cooked well with excellent waitress service. Very relaxing location and grounds by the river. We have stayed here twice. Definitely recommend.

"Great Hotel 4* but with 5* service!"

Stayed here on New Years Eve as a birthday surprise. The rooms were well furnished and had all the extras needed. Given we went in the middle of winter the rooms were surprisingly warm. Beds were comfy and cozy. The staff were friendly, polite and courteous. The breakfast was okay, food and drinks served hot and everything to standard. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Definate recommendation from me!

"Location and service first class, could not say same about the room location"

Have stayed here twice before, but this time we were in a building away from the main building, despite me writing beforehand and asking that this not happen as it was our wedding anniversary. This might have been okay in summertime, but having to leave your room with coat, boots etc to go over to the main building in the rain, then leave after dinner, to return in the cold and wet, then repeat this for breakfast is just not on. Also our room was on the ground floor right next to the road so all vehicles arriving and departing passed our window. Perhaps rooms such as these should be offered at a reduced rate, I would gladly pay a bit extra to have a room where I did not have to go outside to get my meals. If this cannot be guaranteed then I will simply not return. The staff and service were first class.

"Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting"

Recently spent 2 nights at the hotel. Staff very friendly, breakfast excellent, rooms lovely and spacious with no noise from rooms next door. Enjoyed the spa facilities. Only negative our shower was not that hot. We travelled to London on train from Slough which was 2 miles away and had parking.This was great and took 15 mins. Suggest buy day travel card at this station for all transport for day. Enjoy!!!

"Very imposing Hotel in wonderful grounds by the River!"

Warm welcome from Staff - we were early so put our luggage with Consierge and hotel staff phoned my mobile once room was ready! Didn`t dine at Oakley Court although Carvery type lunch looked very good. Breakfast was okay but perhaps bacon etc., could have looked a little fresher and been a little hotter! Would go again though!

Superb setting, excellent breakfast, comfortable room and good size. Hotel should provide more information on local places of interest. There was no directory of hotel sevices in the room.

"air conditioning"

I was disappointed to find that the airconditioning in our room 337 was not working at all. After several requests from the reception and consierge, it was stil not working. We had to request, from the room cleaning staff to suppy a fan for the room to cool the environment down.

Very good hotel but service waned when a wedding took place on the premises. Apart from that, the staff did everything to be helpful and I was very grateful as I had recently had a hip replacement and had difficulty walking and without my asking, they offered a ground floor room. Food was particularly good at dinner and the grounds were stunning with the Thames running at the foot of them. Would go again any time.
