"Does not warrant 4 star status"
Staff were very obliging. The room was disappointing, Lumpy mattress, grubby throw and carpet. Curtains hanging off rail, and stained. Mirror light in bathroom not working. Broken bin in bathroom. Only one pillow each, no tissues anywhere, not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.

"Little bit scruffy."
The hotel was comfortable but very much in need of a freshen up. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was disappointing we only had the continental but when we first came down there was no tables available then when we eventually sat down,at a dirty table we was ignored for a long time. Once served the breakfast consisted of 2boiled eggs,4 slices of toast and 2 croissants between the 2 of us. I`d stay here again for its location but would probably skip the breakfast and take my own tea bags for in the room.

"Really gutted- the hospitality was not what a 4* should be giving.."
I booked this hotel for my parents and thinking it was a 4*, they should have received a brilliant service. On arrival, my parents trying to be polite said everything was fine with the hotel except the staff were very non communicative and blunt. No social manners, or way of making customers feel welcomed into their hotel. they had little to say but they could very clear indicate the deposit of £50 on the room ( they had no trouble at all with getting that message across). The leather seating was falling apart in the canteen/eating area and the atmosphere was not inviting. No tea in the room, and so my mother had to go and ask about the complimentary tea, and they begrudging gave it to her. All in all, the show was great but Tophams is not a 4* by any standard. I should have taken my parents to a Holiday Inn or something, because the money and staff are much more reasonable. Really disappointed with you Tophams.

"Tophams Hotel"
For such a high ranking star status this hotel was very disappointing. Fabulous location in a quiet street near to Victoria, but miserable staff with a grubby bathroom, and damp patches and holes in the bedroom walls.

We were disappointed here, on arrival the lady that checked us in was quite frankly not bothered with us in the slightly (having a bad day perhaps). In our room the air conditioning did not work, and the plugs in both the bath and the sink were falty. We ordered coffee in the bar in the evening, which was frankly undrinkable, and as for the condition of the restaurant facility for breakfast; to say the restaurant chairs and tables are in need of some repair would be an understatement. The chair Upholstery (every chair) was worn, damaged, peeling off, or otherwise in disrepair, tables tops were damaged, and every available table was tatty and unclean. Really not what you would expect from a hotel in this area of London; or in any area of any major town to be honest. Shan`t be going back GS-B

"Needs TLC"
The hotel needs some serious tlc, plug socket was hanging off the wall, damp on the ceiling, marks on the walls and that was just our room the whole hotel needs tlc. Breakfast wasn`t great toast was cold and not really toasted. I would not stay here again.

Excellent hotel and service, however I think that I should of been informed that I had to put a £30 deposit on arrival at the hotel even though I had already paid for the room.

I believe we were given the worst room available 109. We were told there would be tea & coffee making facilities, there was Tea & Coffee and cups but no kettle, the bin in the shower room had not been emptied from the previous occupants, the TV only worked when it felt like it and kept loosing its signal and worst of all the mattress was so uncomfortable and the springs were sticking in your back giving us a sleepless night. All this was reported to the reception when we checked out.

Had to wait ten minutes for bread delivery man to arrive as no toast available at breakfast. No bar facilities as such. Although for a hotel in Belgravia we believe the price was good so even though rated as 4 star we did not expect Rolls Royce standard.

Room damp, not big enough for 3, in basement looking at staff entrance and fire escape, duvet was to small for bed was a king size bed with a double duvet. Had trouble getting heating to work, window was stuck and had trouble shutting. Fan in bathroom didn`t work. Unhelpful staff on reception.
