"Good service and location"
Hotel did look a little dated but staff at reception were excellent and rooms were spacious and clean. Ideal location to walk to Covent Garden and theatre land. Breakfast was quite a limited buffet choice but was all we needed really

"Needs updating "
Whilst the staff where very attentive and pleasant, we even got an ?upgrade? and a bottle of wine in the room, the hotel is very tired and in need of updating, it was clean. no restaurant for evening meals either so you have to go out, there is a restaurant for breakfast which was standard except the tea was cold, drink prices in the bar were reasonably priced

"What a dump The Imperial Hotel Russell Square Bloomsbury"
This hotel has defiantly seen better days! Booked a double room for a romantic birthday weekend away with my boyfriend and was assigned a room with twin beds, and told that the hotel was fully booked and there were no double rooms available. The room had a separate toilet from the bathroom but no wash hand basin in the toilet. There was no safe in the room, the heating was on all the time quite high and there was no control in the room to turn it down so we had to sleep with the window open all night (we stayed 2 nights so there was not much sleep with the outside noise). On Saturday morning there was a one hour que for breakfast so we did not bother and went to another hotel for breakfast. I did complain about the room and having twin beds and was offered a free meal (alas not at the hotel we were staying at as the restaurant was closed) at another one of the chains hotels that was too far away! I could go on but think i will stop there.
