All of the 54 elegantly styled rooms at the 4* Macdonald Bear Hotel, blend the historic features of this 13th century coaching inn with modern hotel facilities. The centre of Oxford is just 8 miles away, 20 minutes drive or 30 minutes by regular bus service. Oxford is a very walkable city and its landmarks feature in many films and TV programmes. As well as the historic colleges, many of which are open to the public during the day, visitors should also be sure to visit the Ashmolean Museum and the Bodleian Library.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: From Oxford Railway the hotel is approximately 9 miles, 20 minutes by taxi. There is also a regular bus service from outside the station to Woodstock which takes about 30 minutes.
BY CAR: From junction 11A of the M5 take the A417 exit to Cirencester and after 0.9 miles at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A417 slip road to Cirencester/Stroud/A46/Oxford/A40. Continue for 0.2 miles and merge onto A417. After 3.3 miles at The Air Balloon Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A436 and after 2.2 miles at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A435/A436. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A436 and after 4.2 miles turn right onto A40. After 15 miles at Burford Roundabout, take the 3rd exit and stay on A40. Continue for 2.6 miles and at Asthall Roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A40. After a further 2.6 miles at the roundabout take the 2nd exit to stay on A40. Continue to follow this route for 7.1 miles and at Eynsham Roundabout, take the 1st exit and continue onto Lower Rd. Follow this road for 2.7 miles and then turn right onto Main Rd/A4095 for the next 1.6 miles. At Bladon Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Oxford Rd/A44 for 1 mile. Make a slight left onto High St and then after 0.2 miles continue onto Park St and the hotel will be on the left.
