"The room was far too warm even though I complained it was still the same. The room was not adequate"

The room was not adequate for 3 adults and not enough wardrobe space either. Room was too stuffy and warm. I had a very uncomfortable 3 nights stay.

"Good location and very comfortable"

The hotel was undergoing refurbishment at the time of our stay and the main entrance was relocated on a different street to the hotel address...this caused problems for taxis who struggled to find it despite being given the "new" street name, The nearest tube was a good 10 mins walk but apart from that our room was very comfortable & quiet. We used the pool which was quite small but adequate & for which there was a fee of £3.75 per person. There was a problem with hot water on day 2 of our stay as the boiler had malfunctioned...probably due to the refurb. We addressed this with Management and received sincere apologies and an offer of compensation which we accepted. I am sure that once this hotel is fully refurbished it will be an excellent place to stay,

The hotel is having a referbishment, workmen 7 days a week with lots of noise. Reception unfriendly. No shower gel in the container. Bed comfy

Under refurb but we were not bothered by this and were in the 4th floor in a returned room. The bed was comfortable blackout curtains effective, choice of showers, courtesy tray and good hair dryer. Disappointed that as a guest the leisure facilities were not complimentary. Swimming was £3.50. I hadn`t checked hotel location assuming it was going to be next to Kings Cross station. My mistake ! It is a good 10/15 minute walk from the station, which wasn`t a problem as weather was dry but if you are dragging cases in a wet day you might want to consider a taxi.

"Can`t wait to come back"

My only critism is that like all/most things when travelling as single mum it makes the children`s free breakfast unobtainable as I was told only one child would eat free. It is a problem across the board and follows through to attractions. But we will be back...

If you offer free wifi then at least it should work better than modems from the 80s If you renew bathrooms then the shower water should stay in the cubicle and not all over the bathroom? Felt bad having to use the towels to dry the floor If you have a toilet then maybe a toilet brush would be good? The lifts have a mind of their own? 3 times on separate occasions we took the stairs because the lifts went everywhere else apart from level 4? I thought I was checking in at a hotel in Spain, maybe some better English speaking in the reception area on arrival, it is London after all? But a hotel for just sleeping, it`s ok. The room was nice. I didn`t try the restaurant after being told that breakfast alone was £15 ???? That must have been one hell of a breakfast. I know it`s London but please

"Average hotel but only because of on-going refurbishment works. "

All staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel itself very clean. Family room is exceptionally small. On-going refurbishment works meant very uncomfortable dining in temporary room. It was so hot and made dining very uncomfortable. They had temporary air conditioning but didn`t work. I would go back but after refurbishing is complete.

"Comfy spacious rooms"

Hotel is not as close to the Kings Cross station as you`d think, but is walkable with luggage within 15 mins. Taxi to the theatre was inexpensive and easily arranged by the concierge.

"Perfect for your break away from home."

Situated in a very good location; tube a short walk away, probably 10 - 15 minutes, so perfect for hopping around the capital. We got a taxi to the theatre, but we could have done the tube just as easily. Taxi £10 each way, so not expensive, really. We stayed in a newly refurbished room, so couldn`t have asked for better. The only thing that our children were not particularly happy about was having to share a bed - 13yr old boy and 11yr old girl - so we had to make a pillow partition to run down the middle of the bed!!! They lived to tell the tale, so ok for one night. If we had been staying longer, we may have asked to be moved, but it was fine. The room was immaculate; comfy and clean with a really modern shower room. It had everything we needed, Restaurant was lovely; service and food great and staff really friendly. Breakfast more than adequate; set us up for the following day walking around London. We would definitely stay again.

hotel was clean, pleasant and great value for money. Only complaint is the directions need updating. Just get a bus from Victoria which would take you to within yards of the hotel from door. Why they have Tube and walking directions I`ll never know. Hotel staff lovely, professional and very accommodating. Want to come back in October. Yeah, that good.

"Hotel under refurbishment "

This hotel is under major refurbishment and it would have been good to know that - I would have booked another. We were also first given a smoking room which hadn`t been requested (I didn`t know such things existed !) the whole corridor smelt really badly of smoke. Thankfully the hotel moved us straightaway to a refurbished room which was nice. There was a water leak from the ceiling near the restaurant and the ceiling came down so not pleasant. The pool wasn`t in use which was one of the main reasons I booked the hotel so overall we were disappointed. On the positive side the staff were friendly and helpful.

"Never again "

This hotel will not be seeing me again!! There was no mention on the website that this hotel was currently being refurbished so the drilling & constant building work became annoying! The staff were unhelp & rude! The concierge man was totally disrespectful! Seemed to be helpful to other guest but when we asked if he call a cab for us the attidude was just not necessary. Had it not been for my partner who kept a cool head while explaining to the rude man that this is his job my birthday could of been ruined! Never again will I stay here!!!!

"Shocking"

Corridors stunk of cigarettes, fire alarm went off 3 times during our stay, no explanation whatsoever, phone in room was dead.Awful stay, wanted a relaxed break first weekend together after daughter was born, completely ruined! Would not recommend!

Hotel facilties and customer service were great. Only downside was the deafening drilling directly outside the window from 8am. And nearest tube station is a 15 min walk away.

This hotel was great from the ladie on reception upgrading are room to the service in dinning room for breakfast and the barman at the end of the night. Excellent Hotel would highly recommend it.

"bathroom shower floods the bathroom as there is no door and the floor doesn`t slope toward the drain"

Bathroom floor floods every time you shower as there is no door and the bathroom floor isn`t sloped toward the drain, really bad design, also no fan in the bathroom so condensation builds up in the room. TV didn`t work although the staff did say we could move rooms. Construction going on after 9am, hammering and drill noise. Will not stay there again, prefer to spent a little more at a better quality hotel that doesn`t cater to hordes of tourists! It really felt as if we were in a hostel rather than a hotel. Staff were very friendly though!

"Under construction- very noisy!"

Hotel was out of the way and at least a 10 minute walk to any bus stop, so when carrying luggage can get tiring. The hotel is currently under construction which we didn`t know about, so you couldn`t sleep in even if you wanted to as the drilling and hammering starts at 8.00

"So disappointing"

For a supposedly family-friendly hotel we were very disappointed to be told, as we were about to step into the pool - all costumed up - that children aren`t allowed in after 6.30pm (this was 6.32pm). After getting dressed again and having a word with the manager, we were given leave to use it for about 20 minutes - under the glare of the woman who first banned us. I`d like to say the room was better, but the noise of the fire doors in the corridor kept us awake all night with people banging and crashing through them and I had to knock loudly on the paper thin wall at gone midnight to stop some tourists rowing next door. There was no iron in the room, no biscuits, no conditioner or water. The furniture was so cramped you couldn`t walk round the dressing table and the service at breakfast (which I was surprised to find wasn`t included) was terrible. We were shown to a table without so much as a good morning. Not remotely 4 star and it`s the first and last time I`ll stay in a holiday inn.

"Room was not ready "

Upon arrival there was lots of building work going on around the car park area that I wasn`t aware of when booking. When we arrived at 3:30 to check in (check in was from 2pm) our room was not ready and we had to wait. The receptionist offered us a complimentary drink but by the time we had finished our drinks the room still wasn`t ready so we were given a `new apartment` room on the third floor instead. The room was very nice, clean and spacious but an electric socket near our desk was loose and very dangerous, our hairdryer also did not work. We called down to reception and they said they would send somebody up to have a look. We waited but nobody came. We left our room to see our show and informed the receptionist that it was ok for someone to check whilst we were out but when we returned nothing had been done about it. Very disappointed.

"Great Location in a nice quiet part of Kings Cross"

Our stay was very pleasant. The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was modern but a little tight for 2 adults and 1 child. The breakfasts were terrific and the hotel was situated nicely to walk to either down to Kings Cross and St Pancras or indeed to Covent Garden or Oxford Street (if wanting to stretch your legs for a longer distance). In the main, I would definitely go back for another stay.
