Nice clean room, the gym was a great bonus too. We stayed on a Sunday night and it was very reasonably priced. Better instructions needed to find out when to get off bus, eg signs to look out for. We missed the stop and had to walk back. We had a very enjoyable stay.

"Location and room excellent: good restaurant needed"

We enjoyed our stay, and had two good meals in the bar. However, the latter is located too close to the lobby and seems to attract an occasionally very noisy clientele at weekends. The absence of a good and quiet restaurant for evening meals is a serious drawback.

"Notices at the hotel rooms where we stayed illustrate that upgrade is planned."

The rooms were satisfactory - clean and bright. We particularly liked the shampoo etc. left in the bathroom for clients; you don`t often find that these days. All the employees were very nice and particularly helpful. The food was fine. The hotel décor is the one feature that might colour opinions of customers. We will be happy to stay there again.

First room I was allocated was awful, very small & dark looking onto a wall. Room 2117 stay away from it! I went to reception & asked to be changed rooms. The girl was helpful & did move us to 3rd floor. She told me it was a triple room, a double & single bed. Got to the room & it was 3 single beds! We just stayed in the room as we didn`t want to move again. Hotel states it refurbishing at the minute, the hotel really needs it. Breakfast was ok, not great

Ok for a quick stopover. Room clean & decent size. Adjacent swimming pool etc good. Bar area crowded & few tables to eat at. Breakfast basic for 10 Euros. Parking expensive. Complicated arrangements for adding items to room bill. Tickets to be bought for everything 1st then exchanged for food etc. Very 19th century!

"Lovely Stay"

We have stayed 2 nights mid week please don`t be put off from bad trip advisor reviews our rooms were fully refurbished to a high standard our view was the back of the hotel it would have been nice to have the view to the front over Dublin. Breakfast is lovely with everything you could wish for. The hotel bar is great and the food is delicious. The pool and spa facilities are 1st class. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated just off a main road so getting a bus into Dublin is easy. A very enjoyable stay thank you.

"Good value"

Room was clean, was just what I expected, all we wanted was a place to stay, we weren`t in the room to long, maybe if you were spending more time in room you would want a bigger more modern room, would stay there again.

"Very poor staff."

On arrival we had to wait 2 hrs to get checked in as the room wasn`t ready, then someone else was checked into our room instead, so that was another 20 min wait (after I called for the manager). After dinner we sat down for a quiet drink but children were allowed to run wild around the place. Its fair too say I won`t be staying there again.

"6th time staying at Regency!"

Hotel very busy so very very noisy at night. Our room was next to the lift shaft on the top floor so no sleep for two nights. Felt robbed as I had to pay £20 upgrade on arrival to stay beside my friends who made their booking at the same time as me with hoteldirect..staff couldnt explain why! Probably wont be back at a weekend. Usually love staying at the Regency, great leisure facilities..Staff very good..food great!

"Hotel had trouble locating my booking - despite having a booking ref."

Hotel had trouble finding the booking, even though I had a reference number. Also I noticed empty drink bottles in the corridor that were not collected for some time.

"The bed wants condemning "

The bedrooms have got a stale smell think it must have been an Los smoking room. You can`t swim in the pool unless you have a swimming cap that was not stated on the internet. Woke up with bad back and stiff shoulder through the beds being so uncomfortable not impressed at all will not be recommending this hotel to anybody

"Realy old and noisy."

The budget room was small, cold and outdated by around 10 years. The walls are paper thin and it was very noisy. The food was undercooked. Would not recommend or stay again.

"Sleepless night!"

Our room on the first floor had a very noisy generator outside. When this was switched off later, the noise of a band took over into the early hours. Left for an early morning flight at 4.00am without having had a wink of sleep. Guests were still singing and playing a guitar in the foyer. NEVER AGAIN!

"Great hotel, good location, I`d stay again"

I arrived at 1 o`clock in the morning but there was no fuss and a speedy check-in, the room was clean and comfortable, towels and soap provided, as well as tea/coffee. Comfortable beds. Everything worked. Breakfast was 10 euros, a little expensive, so I didn`t eat in the hotel. There is a large store next door. Bus 16 goes south to the city centre (2 euros 35) past Drumcondra rail station (20 mins walk from the hotel, with cafes and small shops on the way), taxi from Dublin port to hotel was 16 euros. Bring a swimming cap, compulsory for the pool, or buy one at the hotel. You can`t blame the hotel for the people who arrived in the room next to mine at 3.45 am and made a huge racket - this is Dublin. Fabulous value hotel, helpful staff at the front desk, good location, I`d stay again.

"Dated rooms, Except for reception area."

Average nothing special. Clean and warm. Wall mounted tv held up by a toilet roll ..Would not stay again as parking is 8 euros a day when the car park is on site. Hotel say they dont own the car park. Im not sure ??, Maybe a revenue booster..?? Receptionists helpfull but seemed uninterested. Male receptionist gave us help and advice without having to ask that was good..

"Never again!"

Stayed with a friend for a night out in Dublin and it was a joke. 80 euro plus breakfast for a room that probably hadn`t been touched since the 1970`s. We asked for a twin room and got a double. The toilet wouldn`t flush. The TV didn`t work. The hair dryer was broken. It just became laughable at that stage. There are some parts of this hotel that are refurbished and new but beware of the old part! Not worth the money, could definitely find better around Dublin at that cost!

Dear Guest, Sorry to hear of your bad experience at The Regency Hotel. We do advertise with pictures that our Budget rooms are located in an older unrenovated part of the Hotel but of course that does not excuse all that was wrong with your room. Regards Carol

"Clean but cold and no WiFi"

The hotel is currently under going renovation, but the rooms are clean, beds were comfortable, and the shower had plenty of hot water. That being said, there was no heat (we were there in January, the TV didn`t work, and there is no wifi. But you can pay ?6 in the lobby to use a computer there to get online. Hotel was also very easy to get to from buses.

"Nice clean hotel"

We stayed here for 2 nights in October. I was originally booked into a budget room, but having see the reviews and photographs of those rooms, i requested an upgrade to a standard room (extra 20 Euro per night) I have to say the room we were given was very nice, with only slight issued affecting the room (like an iron mark on the carpet!) The bar area was nice and the staff very friendly. The only issue i would say we found was the waitresses in the dining room at breakfast. whether is was down to inexperience or a language barrier i am not sure, but our table was not set correctly with numerous items missing. The waitress seeing to our table had to be asked 4 times for a teaspoon, and each time the request was ignored. Eventually i had to go over and ask for this from the manager. But i have to say, that was the only blot on a very nice stay
