"Friendly staff, clean & comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and good location. "

This is the second time I have used your hotel and have recommended it to other friends and colleagues travelling to London. The facilities, staff and location are excellent.

"Good location"

Renovation work going on though not noisy. Room was a little dated so probably hadnt been renovated as yet. First morning asked for more milk in room but it never came. Also they tried to make me pay for our extra bed even though I had already paid for it!

"Building work"

Generally very pleasant in excellent location for Natural history museum etc, currently undergoing extensive refurishment work on ground floor. This starts around 8am and is sheduled to continue, according to the duty managers own admission, until 11pm. This is despite written assurances that the work will not impact on stay. Suggest at the vey least ask for room on floor six or above on booking or avoid until after work unless hammering lulls you to sleep.

Location v good and accessible. Family rooms are small. Breakfast very good. Garden at the back fantastic particularly for children.Would stay again but would advise two rooms with connecting door for a family of 4 or more.

"Right in the middle of things"

Travelling with children has it`s own set of problems. The location of this hotel removed a lot of the normal ones. It is situated opposite Gloucester Road Tube station a most of our planned days out involved only a single tube trip. The museums are only a short walk away too. The Hotel was very comfortable and the family room was big enough for 4 with out feeling cramped. The rooms were very quiet, hard to believe a busy main road was right outside. The welcome bowl of fruit was unexpected but much appreciated. Breakfast was very filling, very good with 2 growing boys and kept the " Mum I`m hungry" routine down to a minimum. Would stay at this hotel again next time we go to London

this is a convenient, if pricey, hotel for me because of its closeness to the tube. On this occasion the room (208) stank of tobacco. It was awful; I had to sleep with the windows open, or the air condo on, but of course nothing works. The hotel staff blamed me, and by implication yourselves. I had not asked when booking for a non smoking room. Their indifference surprised me; they said they would send someone to "refresh" the room, but never did. ( I accept it would only have added another smell ). They said they would see if another room could be made availlable, but this was just a put off. No contact was made. All the staff seemed French; perhaps the Americans are moving out of this brand. I think the brand is off the boil. I had a sore throat, a hacking cough and three very miserable nights. I would avoid this hotel in future is possible.

"Everything was ok for us"

the room was big and fine but we would prefer 1 double bed for the parent and two single bed for the children because we have a son and a daughter but we forgot to ask for.

"2nd visit to this hotel dissapoined we were not informed of refurbisment work going on at present"

The downstairs sports bar was closed due to refurbishment whci we were not informed of? also we were asked to pay for one persons breakfast when we had already paid yourselfs direct for 3 people at this hotel, the holiday inn informd us that only 2 breakfasts had been paid for so we had to pay £27.90, i would be grateful if you would look into this for me as we feel we have been mislead by the price given to us thinking this was fully paid

"Quite okay. Freindly staff, great location and good buffet breakfast."

As said ok with some minor flaws. Try getting a room away from Cromwell Road, then you can sleep with your window open.

My room was next to the lift. One lift was out of order but was repaired at the end of our stay. On the last night the repaired lift doors shuddered everytime they opened, consequently this resulted in a sleepless night for me as it was like a train shunting into the bedroom. Other than this I was pleased with the hotel.

"Staff very effiecient and polite but rooms especially bathroom needed more attention"

would stay again but did not like the fact they actually took £50 off you IN CASE they needed to charge for extras. All hotels i have stayed in have always just taken credit card details should extras be incurred.

"Lovely Hotel Good Location "

We stayed at this hotel during a short family break with our 2 children aged 9,12. Hotel location is good only yards away from Gloucester Rd tube station. Within walking distance of many museums and restaurants including KFC and BurgerKingRoom was a good size very clean with good facilities. Within minutes of reaching our room reception phones to check we had no problems. My daughters highlight was reading in the services that she could get a goldfish for her stay this was promptly delivered to our door my the concierge and named `Ken`. breakfast was excellent with a good range of hot and cold food served on the buffet. the hotel seemed to be frequented by mainly Americans and business men/women. In all a lovely hotel which we would use again on any visits into the capital.

"good hotel & location to shops & tube "

excellent choices of food for breakfast - clean & tidy rooms, very comfortable. helpful staff. lovely gardens at rear peaceful but not when work was going on. close to shops, across from tube station. very dissapointed about the building work going on & not being told before booking because work started early in mornings. will be a lovely hotel when extension is finished and would stay again next year after work is complete.

"Excellent start , bad finish!"

We arrived at the hotel and the staff we very friendly and the room was clean , although the room smelt as if the the previous occupant had been smoking. The room was very hot and the air conditioning seemed to pump hot air around the room consequently our sleep was disturbed the morning we went down to breakfast and had to wait twenty minutes to sit down as there were no clean tables , which was irritating. When leaving we decided to leave our bags at reception while we look around a museum which was fine until we went back to collect them and had to wait 30 minutes to retrieve them as the doorman could be found , we asked the receptionist who seemed to take great offense at being asked about our bags as this was obviously beneath her! The receptionist grimaced several times and mutter under her breath while we waited for the doorman. I am in a service profession and I do not consider it upsetting when I have to provide customer service !!

Hotel staff very helpful. My one gripe is that though we booked one room for four people, breakfast was only provided for two people, and no mention was made of this at time of booking. Breakfast cost £14.95 per person so there was a potential extra cost of £59.80 for the two mornings. This made the package deal a lot less attractive.
