"Classy, quiet and high quality"

If you want a hotel which is in a good location for a London break then look no further. This is an excellent quality hotel with great food and accommodation

"Nice hotel but...."

Despite having the building/facilities of a quality hotel, they let themselves down by still trying on the cheapskate hotel trick of trying to palm every guest off into their smallest rooms, regardless of what they`re paying for (superior / executive) and just apologising and moving them (an hour wait for another room to become free, in our case) IF you complain about it. We heard 3 other groups complaining of the same scam while we waited for our real room to be prepared... Pillows aren`t great, charging guests to use the gym facilities is poor (spa facilities is one thing, but the basic gym??). Service charge automatically added to every drink bill even if you go to the bar and get it yourself (what service?) General service was good though and despite the bathless bathrooms in executive rooms, room facilities were decent.

Very nice very clean hotel . Reception staff helpful . Only negative comment was that there were two of us staying in the room but on two consecutive days the maid only left one mug no milk or spoons . On one occasion I rang room service and asked for another mug etc as we came in at 10.30 pm and wanted a hot drink but no one brought it .

"Excellent service and relaxing spa"

The hotel staff were attentive and polite at all times. We used the pool and steam room at an extra cost of £8.00 per person which was a relaxing experience. Rooms were clean and enough space for our needs. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Easy access to tube station. Would return to the hotel next time in London.

"good clean basic hotel"

If what you need is a central location then the hotel is perfect. Dont expect luxury. Rooms are basic and small and it`s disappointing you have to pay extra for the gym and pool. But its clean and staff are friendly and helpful.

My second visit to the hotel in two weeks. Once again, the welcome from the friendly staff made you feel relaxed straight away. I booked a single room and was given a twin, which was on the small side but it was very comfortable and very clean. My compliments to the staff.

Nice clean hotel, room very `cosy` due to 3 single beds. campbed to start with as 3rd bed, but was changed quickly after complaint. nice friendly service and breakfast worth booking

A first rate hotel ideally located, spotlessly clean, great staff, luxurious reception and although the rooms are not massive they are well designed and clean, great shower and bath Will visit again

"Very fiendly hotel"

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a great location. I had a single room that was very small and the bathroom was tiny, but the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I wouldn`t hesitate to use the hotel again

Had a lovely stay at hotel. Good service and friendly staff. Hotel food was plentiful and excellent. The only let down was the size of the executive double room which I found quite small. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

Huge improvement (remodelled interior) since my last stay several years ago. Plenty of well trained and courteous staff. Will come again.

"Good Hotel and Nice staff "

Good Hotel and very nice staff. the room had been recently refurbished and was nice. The bathroom was modern and very clean. Location is good if you dont mind getting the Tube, but tones of restaurants in the local area. Only problem i had with the hotel was the TV in my room didnt work, and for internet usage yo had to pay 9.99 GBP for 24hrs usages and its a bug bare for me that a hotel charges for internet.

Was an amazing stay all the staff were very good and helpful. The hotel room was very clean, the bed was so comfortable also the pillows were very nice and just right for us. We are booking again in the Summer and can`t wait to go, looking forward to it!

"Just what we wanted "

The hotel was excellent , everyone was so polite and helpful and nothing was to much trouble . It`s position near Kensington High Street makes it ideal for getting into Central London with minimum trouble . Would recommend it .

"Excellent value when booked through Hotel Direct"

Well situated hotel. Airy single rooms, with spacious en-suite. Some work being done on rooms along corridor but noise levels low. Heating system was difficult to work, but warmed the room eventually. The bed was very comfortable. Only down-side was that TV turned itself on at 2am - due to some mistake with the clock? The same thing happened in my Mum`s room but at 3am. We mentioned this to concierge next morning and hopefully this won`t be a problem for others. Leisurely evening meal in restaurant was very tasty and price was excellent, with offers on two- and three-course meals and free wine. Breakfast was also very good, with wide range of food (fruit juice, cereals, fresh fruit, porridge, cold meats, croissants and full English). I would definitely recommend this hotel but only if you can get a reduction in price ? we saved over 50% on room tariff by booking through HotelDirect.

"Bedroom very cold. Third bed was inadequate. Breakfast good. Staff excellent."

Despite having air con on 32 degree setting room remained very chilly. Kept thinking it would get better but it didn`t. Also, 3rd bed in room to accommodate 3 adults was simply a Z bed. Seems as though we didn`t get the best deal. One night was OK but more.

Our first time staying at the kensington hotel as we were attending the theatre and wanted to make a evening of it. We was greeted by more than welcoming staff and a beautiful interior which was exceptionally clean. The spa facilities are defiantly worth using everything is provided and again spotlessly clean. Check out time was at 12pm which was great that extra hour to relax whilst having a full English breakfast brought directly to your room rounded out stay off nicely. I cannot fault them or the service in any way. Enjoy- Kelly Hardy

"Cramped + poor lighting"

2 complaints about the room (Room No. 2002) 1) The head of the bed was against the wall (as you`d expect), but the foot of the bed was only (literally) 4 inches from the other wall... Therefore, in order to get to the other side of the bed (short of rolling over it), you had a really tight squeeze to get past the bed... Made even worse by the fact that the TV was protruding from the wall !! at head height!! 2) There was no lighting by/ over the sink... Which made trying to shave an interesting experience, as you couldn`t see what you were doing (especially as the very fact that you are standing at the sink blocks the light from the bulb at the other end of the room!!
