"POOR STAY"

We made it clear in our booking and with several phone calls direct to the hotel -prior to our stay, that we had booked 2 rooms for 3 nights and an additional rooms for a further two nights .We explained we had our grand children aged 7 and 10 and their parents staying for the two nights .We explained we needed either adjoining rooms or a 4 bed family room . Only when we checked in were we told that neither option would be available ! ! As a result our son and daughter in law were forced to sleep in separate rooms ,each sharing the room with one of their children . This spoilt what had been planned as a nice family break. To make matters worse after we complained we were told a 4 bed room would be made available for their second night .The family moved all their belongings into our room and were then told at 3.30pm they would have to return to the original two twin bedded rooms they had occupied the night before , The whole experience was a disaster ! !

"Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast"

The hotel was good value for money, though the bedroom was small as was the bathroom. We were told that the room had been upgradedbut the bathroom looked worn, particular the sink.

"Ok for a short stay"

Staff were friendly, check in procedure was smooth and painless, location is good. The room was small but clean, and the provision of basic toiletries and a hairdryer are a nice bonus. It had a double bed squeezed in (I booked it as a single) but not really practical for two people for more than one night. Main drawback is that the bathroom was very cramped. The shower is probably ok for sub-five-foot-tall, size-6 contortionists but everyone else may struggle. Even the basin didn`t really have enough elbow room for comfortable tooth-brushing. Can`t comment on breakfast, didn`t bother with it. Oh, and take earplugs - the walls are paper-thin. I would stay here again though, if I was travelling alone for one or two nights max and I got it for the right price. All I want in this situation is somewhere safe, clean, with a hot shower and reasonably comfy bed and Ambassadors Kensington does all that.

Very clean. However the sheets did`nt fit the some what less than exceptable double bed. As in the size. if i wasn`t so ill during my stay I would of complained at the time. And the bathroom while small the height of the shower is a joke. Not to be able to stand under the shower is surely not accetable. And to be charged five pounds to hold our bags until our room was availible is a joke I did make a point of not eating or drinking anything from the retaurant or bar due to this what can only be seen as greed on the part of the hotel. FIVE POUNDS........................................

"Good Location for Earls Court. Clean and modern. Staff excellent."

I would use this hotel again. However, the basement room we had was tiny. The room was very clean and modern but had no window and the double bed was a tight fit against the wall. I would request a room not in the basement in future. Maybe, this was reflected in the price. But OK for a short stay. ****

"Clean and service fine, so fitted its purpose of place to stay"

Single room was small but did serve its purpose. The bathroom I felt was badly designed, the shower was tiny you had barely any space to turn, it was also raised which made getting out a bit difficult to avoid a fall. You needed to take care that the shower curtain did not block the drain and so overflow. and on a raised plinth. I would liked to have been able to turn the heating down.

Could bring book in time forward 1 hour or more and cancel (£5.00) charge of leaving luggage whilst waiting for room. Otherwise will loose out to nearby establishments

"Very good service!"

I stayed at the hotel on 21st Nov for 1 night. I had been assigned a double room without a window. The check-in team were brilliant and they found me an alternative room even though they were fully booked. The room was small, clean, tidy and most importantly, quiet. Really great service.

"very very bad"

Turned up on time and was told I was being moved hotel due to a room problem which they new about the day before my arrival but didnt bother telling me. The hotel they tried to force me to stay in was nowhere near kensington so I rufused. After arguing for ages I was finally told there was a room after all , but the problems didnt end there. Room was no bigger than a shoe box with a grotty little bathroom stuck on the side. Not only was this unacceptable but the heating was on full the whole 2 days I stayed there! Making it like a suana. All the hotel could about this was give me a fan. Which to my suprise didnt work properly. And then to rub salt jn the wounds I was in the top floor and the 2 lifts didn`t work. All in all I would prefer to sleep in a bath of shit then stay Again.

"Very disappointing, dingy, grubby and very poor state of decorative order"

First impression of the outside and the lobby is fine, then you go up the stairs past the stairway door and its like walking into a different building, grubby, dingy and very poor. When we got to the room it was worse and it stunk of cigarette smoke. We requested to be moved to a different room, this wasn`t much better but at least wasn`t smelling of cigarette smoke. If it hadn`t been so late we would have searched for another hotel. Totally dissatisfied.

"Polite and helpful staff. Good atmosphere."

Two criticisms: Nowadays to charge a guest for wifi is unusual, gives a mean impression. Also, I was charged £5 to store two small pieces of luggage for a few hours on checkout day. I have never come across this practice before. Suggest you reconsider. It leaves a bad parting impression, and undoes a lot of the goodwill generated during our stay. Best regards, Cormac Lalor.

Helpful friendly staff. Good location. Although the room was small it was clean and tidy with a good shower, and perfectly adequate for anyone visiting London wanting to be close to the centre without costing a fortune.

"Beyond Basic"

This hotel can boast a great location in west London between Gloucester Rd and Earls Court tube stations, but that`s the only attraction! My double room was the smallest imaginable. There was no chair in the room and my TV did not work. The bed pillows smelt of someone else`s unwashed hair. Never again!

"Close to shops & transport for Earle`s Court & Gloucester Rd tubes"

Rooms are small but comfortable, clean and modern fittings Some rooms have air conditioning (basement rooms), but basement area is a rabbit warren of corridors Only one small lift operating Reception on TV`s for digital channels all but non-existent Staff friendly and polite Wasn`t happy to get stung 5 quid to store my bags on arrival for a 5 day stay - only hotel in 4 weeks of travel to do this!

"Staff although friendly seemed unable to respond to simple requests efficiently."

Confusion over pre paid breakfasts causing embarrasement, and a long queue whilst it was sorted out. No fans available when requested (rooms small and very hot) promised for next day, but had to ask and a plug had to be fitted. Staff did not seem to be able to anticipate needs. Hair dryer in room did not work, requested another which was only available only an hour later. Too late by then! Iron and Ironing board sent up which was not requested. No shelf in bathroom. However, very impressed with hotel staff who on the Friday night of our stay dealt extremely well with an incident outside Hotel, which could have turned very nasty. They should be congratulated, Bar staff very friendly and helpful, but with some members of staff there did seem to be a language problem which made communication difficult, and they did not seem to have any supervision which might have helped them. Hotel was reasonably clean, but surprisingly had fitted sheets and a blanket.

"Friendly, helpful staff. "

Very good communication prior to our stay with easy directions on how to find the hotel. Basement room was clean, very warm on arrival but soon cooled down with air con. All basics provided in our room which was clean and tidy. No hairdryer in our room but one available from reception. 10 mins walk from tube and handy for museums and Royal Albert Hall.

"This is a budget hotel do not expect anything else"

Efficient check in and very clean Incredibly small room and bathroom but functional. Main issue is noise, paper thin walls constant banging of doors. Liken this hotel to the really budget chains e.g canteen style bar area and basic facilities and you will not be disappointed.

We found the male staff extremely helpful and friendly nothing was a problem for them, your rooms were clean and the only complaint was they are so small, but overall ok....we felt a small fridge would have gone down well for the money charged. Amy Liddell

"Cheap and cheerful but too hot."

We had to ask reception to turn off the radiator when we first arrived as the room was far too hot. WiFi was £5 for 24 hours which always seems a bit mean - it was not very fast either and not really worth the money. Apart from that it was a clean room and we had triple beds instead of a double and single, which we had been led to expect, so that was a bonus.

Although the rooms are on the small side they are clean and warm. The only small negative is that the bathroom is in need of updating. That said I will certainly use the hotel again should the need arise in the future. One piece of advice though is when you come out of the tube, turn left onto the main road and then left into the hotel road. This way seems a lot quicker than turning right out of the tube station at Gloucester Road.
