"What a disappointment."

Not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel! My room was one of the worst rooms I have ever had. Dark, with tiny windows, and very tired. As if that was bad enough the air conditioning was not working, I informed reception but no one came so I had to leave the room, or faint. At night, the room was freezing cold.. I was up early and out of the hotel in record time. I complained but the receptionist just looked at me. Not a great experience.

"No Heating"

Our room had no heating for the first night and we were even cold in bed which was difficult as my wife is seriously ill and we were staying to have treatment at nearby Harley Street This was rectified by the duty manager when we reported it the next morning however we would have expected better from a five star establishment. It should have been checked before we arrived.

"Outstanding hotel."

We have had several wonderful stays here. Not sure if we`re allowed to say what it is but do choose it. We are always incredibly warmly welcomed. Service and facilities are exceptional. Completely brill.

"Hotel facilities and service were very good."

Hotel facilities and service were very good. We were, however, disappointed that we were not offered any compensation or apology for the lack of water and electricity form approximately 12 daytime hours after a fire alarm.

"Fabulous hotel"

The xxxxx hotel was everything we expected & in such a central position. A Beautiful classic interior with an equally lovely bedroom. Breakfast was a buffet in a tranquil setting, very relaxing . All of the staff were warm & extremely friendly. Can`t wait to go back!

Hotel was just about 5 star. Room acceptable and carpets had stains on. could have done with being decorated and fridge was very noisy and could not be turned off. Could not access so called best cocktail bar in the world as full of non residents so did not even get in. Breakfast good although have had better in other 5 star venues in London

"Top hotel"

What a lovely hotel, we met up with friends for an evening everything was perfect. We both got upgraded which was a bonus, the bar erea was buzzing great cocktails service was impeccable. Breakfast was in the al a carte at the Roux beautifully cooked. Fab night away.

"Fabulous!"

Staff were amazing, room lovely, clean and exceptionally comfortable. Two very minor comments. We had no drinking water in our rooms (until much later in the evening) and surprised no biscuits with the tea or coffee making facilities. Also both my friend and I felt that the music in the Artesian Bar was not appropriate for the majority `older` clientele present, however the cocktails were tremendous. Would I stay in the xxxxx again and recommend them then most definately YES!!!!

"Fantastic hotel definatley worth a visit"

We absolutely loved this hotel, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the hotel spotless, the food was lovely, especially the breakfasts amazing, we used the pool and jacuzzi and our two teenage kids loved it, they were very impressed as were we with the hotel, the location was very central, would definately stay again.

Beautiful hotel, well worth the treat, afternoon tea lovely. Staff so polite. Great location for shops and 200 yards from Oxford Circus tube. Spa massage so relaxing.

"Amazing experience"

I treated my boyfriend as a surprise for his 40th Birthday. The hotel, staff and restaurant were 1st class. Would definatley stay here again.

We will definitely go back and stay at the xxxxx, the staff were wonderful, very helpful. Good location away from hussle and bustle but only 10 mins away from shops and restaurants. Would recommend to friends and family

"Kind, friendly staff."

Room was very comfortable, hot water, thick towels, good range of toiletries including box of extras-very handy as my husband forgot his razor and lost his comb. Palm Court staff were lovely in particular David, who remembered our breakfast requirements after one day. I have arthritis and David gave me special attention even bringing me a cushiun for my back without making a big thing about it. We booked as a Hidden Gem and it was good value

"Complimentary Room Upgrade"

Hoteldirect`s price couldn`t be beaten, having checked right up to the day of arrival. Rate included the full breakfast which was elegantly served in the Roux restaurant. Upon arrival, we were given a Grand Twin with two Queen beds, beautiful flowers, fruitbowl, sweet delicacies, complimentary water and fabulous Chuan Spa toiletries. The room was enormous with dressing area, plenty of wardrobe space and a lavishly appointed, huge bathroom with walk-in shower, separate roll-top bath, two wash-hand basins, and plenty of towels. Our room was 235, twin-aspect situated on the corner of the hotel two floors above the Roux restaurant. Room was quiet, with plenty of natural daylight. The lighting levels could be easily controlled from either bedside. We were warmly welcomed by all staff; check-in was swift (two hours early). The hotel is certainly not stuffy or flamboyant - it is elegant and understated. I wouldn`t hesitate to book this hotel again through Hoteldirect.

"Luxury hotel"

Fab hotel in a great position for shopping and theatre but far enough out of the way to be quiet. The surroundings were luxurious, the staff couldn`t do enough to help and the buffet breakfast was all you could ask for...and more. Our bedroom was relatively small and a little old fashioned/faded but as we spent minimal time here it wasn`t a problem. The bed as v comfortable with luxury bed linen

Lovely located central London hotel and the service was tremendous. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff seemed to have been informed it was my daughter`s 18th and they made her feel special all the time.
