"Not wholly a 5* hotel "

The staff were all friendly and courteous which was great. The bathrooms though were a little tired as was the Palm Court furnishing and lighting, although the lobby area was rather attractive. The bar food and decor were good, but the breakfast was pedestrian to say the least. The hot dishes looked jaded and a little canteen like. My wife chose from the continental menu, although she left the smoked salmon as she said it tasted odd, and since this morning has had an upset stomach, but whether the salmon was the cause we have no idea. She was fine until then. Average to good would be a better rating as a friendly greeting scores highly.

"Upper class hotel"

The Langham is a hotel designed for people who like top quality. The hotel is first rate, the customer service is top notch, and the quality is the best you will find in London.

"An outstanding oasis of delightful tranquility and style in the heart of London."

The Langham offers style, elegance and tranquility, which combined with its superior attention to customer service and competitive prices, make it possibly one of the best kept secrets London has to offer. For business or pleasure, the Langham is unrivalled.

"A DISTINCT LACK OF LOUNGE SEATING (NONE)"

There is nowhere to sit apart from the bedrooms, apart from this the hotel is adequate. We would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

"Langham staff make you feel very welcome"

This was our second visit to the hotel and once again the staff & Hotel were excellent we were there to celebrate the anniversary of the Falklands. Langhams very kindly kept our luggage which we were extemely gateful for. We were however dissapointed that we could not have a meal in the restaurant in the evening as it was fully booked and therefore had a lighter meal in the bar area.

I had contacted the hotel on the previous day to confirm the time we could access our room and was informed that our room would be available from 3pm. However, we arrived at 11.45am and hoped to leave our luggage with the Concierge in order that we could stroll around Oxford Street., when we were informed our room was ready which was a huge bonus. We found the room to be clean and comfortable. If we had any `niggles`, there were not enough English Breakfast tea bags (only one as opposed to quite a few `flavoured teas`, ie Ginseng, Camomile) and we received a slow service at breakfast (had to request orange juice and tea more than once).

"Excellent service, delicious dining ,,adequate room, complicated journey to swimming pool,"

Hard to find fault , but 2 soft drinks coming to in excess of £10 was not value for money!!!

"Check in was laboured and we were sent to a doubl;e room - twin booked very clearly"

Transferred to room 331 - excellent room but we found beds very hard. The Palm Court is non-smoking but smokers were evident and left unchallenged. Many of the staff have only a minimal command of the English language!! "Optional" 12.5% Service Charge - very irritating Bar very expensive

"First Class Hotel"

We were very impressed with the standards displayed at the hotel. The rooms were splendid, clean bright and clean - not the best view of London but ok. The food was of a high standard and the staff very friendly and professional in all areas. Definately a hotel we would love to go back to when in London again - as a special treat of course!!

"breakfast"

You should review your range of breakfast foods. If you were not having cooked food , then the choice was very poor. You could offer a much wider choice of cereals ,especially for children, and a wider range of cold meats and cheese`s, and pastries. We have been to many many hotels the world over, and I am afraid we were really dissapointed with your breakfast, so we only had it the first morning, and went out for breakfast after that. I cannot believe you charge £10 for a cooked breakfast! The only other things were; the rooms need dusting esp on top of the t.v unit! and the metal towel holder in the shower area is rusting......I would update you shower as well. This is our second stay with you, and although it would not put us off staying with you again, because you are in a good location for us......for a 5 * (?) hotel you need to improve a fair bit. The service from staff was excellent, very polite.

"Really excellent value for money, location, staff and facilities - can`t top it!"

I`ve stayed in the Langham before - and would thoroughly recommend it. It`s a five minute walk from Oxford Circus tube station - so right in the heart of all the shopping, theatre and sightseeing bits of London. We walked everywhere. The swimming pool and spa are great - although they do charge guests a small surcharge to use the pool (unless you have booked a spa treatment - in which case it`s free) Bit bizarre! The service is great - not too overbearing and the rooms are a good size for London. We had a great power shower, and because the hotel is slightly off the main drag - the rooms were lovely and quiet at night.

"Excellent service at the hotel and lovely facilities"

Was not aware that we needed to pay £7.00 for use of the health spa facilites. Thought that this was a bit off.

Staff were very attentive and helpful. Our room was well presented and gave us all the amenities that we were looking for. We had coffee when we arrived and at £4+ per cup we thought it was a bit over the top. Drinks in our room on the other hand were far more reasonable. Overall we were very impressed with the service we received, the amenities available and the central position of the hotel. We would certainly recommend this hotel and it`s staff

We were disappointed in the fact that we were not allowed to have a drink in the bar after 6pm because we had our 10 year old grandson with us. This is despite the fact that we had booked dinner in the restaurant, at a huge cost of £167.00 for thee light meals and two desserts with drinks. Apart from that we enjoyed ourselves with you.

"Friendly reception, comfortable room , although not child friendly for dinner."

We had our six year old daughter with us for the trip to London. The hotel were kind enough to upgrade our room to a junior suite, to give us more room. Breakfasts were good, although our daughter`s breakfast was not included in the price. Didn`t have dinner in the hotel as the chef was clearly trying to get a michelin star with the childrens menu. Hotel location very central for shopping and sightseeing. We will use this hotel the next time we travel to london

Clean, comfortable and very attentive staff. Thoroughly recommend for convenience to Oxford Street as only a 2 minute walk away! However spa was fully booked for the whole weekend so this was disappointing!!
