"Good Choice"

I would have said the hotel was very good....easy location to get around the city, with great tube links .....the excellent refurb means it is very clean and comfortable...good standard of room, excellent bathroom and fab, easy to use shower!!! Beds? Comfortable enough but two single beds pushed together to make a double, with slightly different thicknesses of mattresses meant a bit of a `lip` down the middle!!....breakfast was a little sparse on choice but what was available was good......otherwise, well worth the money for London and I will stay again

Enjoyed our stay at the troy easy to find from the underground and situated very central. hotel very clean and our room was very warm and cozy. Breakfast was also very nice and enough variety to choose from to suit most people. Very pleasant stay.

Someone had smoked in the room, so that odor lingered. Apart from that, the room was clean and comfortable and I would defintiely consider staying at Troy Hotel again.

"Ideally located budget hotel"

We stayed with you for 2 nights, found the reception staff friendly, and the public areas very clean and tidy. Cont breakfast was as we expected, nice basic choice, fresh coffee, no complaints. The rooms, although very small, were nicely kept, and had everything we needed. The only thing I would mention is, there is virtually no storage space in the bathroom. It would have been handy to have an additional shelf, maybe.

"Better than average"

We had read some of the reviews on-line (after we had booked) and wewre expecting the worst. But in the event we were pleasantly surprised. Room was clean, service friendly, and the coffee at breakfast way above average for a medium to budget range hotel. We could see that everything has been re-furbished since those reports on Trip advisor were published. We would recommend this hotel for short stay in London. And its location is very convenient. We arrived at the hotel early and were able to access room straight away. The room was clean and comfy and had all the facilities that we required for our stay. The staff that we saw were friendly. We thought that we definately got value for money. wE

"Our review of The Troy Hotel"

We enjoyed our stay overall...bedroom was clean and a very comfortable bed and quilt the only critisismn being that breakfast lacked variety..no cold meat, stale croissants but we would stay again and if you could improve that area then we would be more than happy

"Muy bien situado"

El hotel está muy céntrico porque esta a 3 y 4 minutos de Queenway (Central Line) y Bayswater (District Line), la habitación un poco pequeña pero limpia. El colchón es malo y, en nuestra habitación, habia una ducha un poco estrecha. La atención del personal regular, el desayuno bueno en general, están reponiendo todo el tiempo.

Enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean, the staff were accomodating, the rooms contained everything needed, and presentation of the hotel was good.

"A well placed hotel. Close to underground, a bus route into the West End and Paddington Stn."

Overall reasonable value for money. Hotel and rooms were clean and room size OK for the money. We liked the proximity to transport links. One gripe was our room wasn`t made up on one day. We had left "make up room" notice on the door, but this was disputed by staff. On departure I requested that the Manager (who wasn`t available at check out) to `phone us, but this request was ignored.

"Reception staff."

The guys in the reception should be more friendly. Only the girl gave us some support.

"Very pleased - better than we expected for the money."

Very comfortable, nicely decorated and furnished room. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Kept our bags for us all day Sunday as we were not leaving London until 20.30. I think for £95.00 per night per room it was good value for money and would certainly go there again.

"Nice hotel, small rooms but clean and fairly modern."

V good breakfast service rooms v small but adequate and clean, squeaky floorboards in corridor and next room a bugbear but there you go. A fair bit of street noise both nights, but we were there on Fri and Sat nights so maybe you expect that, otherwise not bad at all.

"very average!"

Pleasant looking hotel but the combination of paper thin walls and ridiculously noisy floorboards made it an unpleasant stay. Bed very uncomfortable and the en-suite had a damp smell about it. Will not return.

"Actrively furished room; comfortable bed with cosy matress cover. Quiet, spotlessly clean"

Slightly warmer welcome on arrival would have been appreciated. Room 508 Shower: hot water took a long time to come through, by which time the shower tray, which drained too slowly was almost overflowing into the bathroom.

Clean accommodation. Pillows a bit lumpy! Breakfasts very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Shower was a bit difficult to turn completely off but that may be partially due to my weak wrists!

"Very nice, clean hotel with good location "

Finding a reasonably priced hotel in London is very difficult, so I was pleasently surpised to find the Troy which offers good comfort and is very clean at a vey good price. My bed was very conforjatble and the room was well apointed with its own safe. My only niggle would be that only continental breakfast was offered. i was looking forward to a nice full Engish but had to make do with muesli and toast :o( but I`m sure that was stated in the booking documents, I just glossed over it.

"Uncomfortable mattresses - "

The hotel is ideally situated as we went to both concerts in Hyde Park. The only criticism is that the bed was REALLY uncomfortable...need new mattresses.... Apart from that OK - breakfast fine, clean and well located.

Pleasant, friendly welcome. Room on small side smelling of smoke;hotel advertised as non-smoking and regret not insisting on room change. Very small bathroom/shower but clean towels every day. Our used coffee cups not washed. Good breakfast. On balance good value and excellent location.

"Good for short stay"

From the outside of the hotel, we wern`t expecting much but were pleasantly suprised. The lift was very useful with a modern touch, adding to the hotel. The room and bathroom were very clean and were cleaned on a daily basis. Room was well equipped and in full working order. Breakfast times were suitable and there was a fairly wide choice. Something for everyone! Nice breakfast area and food was fresh. However, the shower was abit temperamental. Size of the room and bathroom was adequate as we knew they would be small after reading previous reviews. Feeling like the only British people in the area was abit awkward but also added to the experience. There are lots of souvenir shops, modern shops, takeaways, restaurants and small supermarkets very nearby as well as 2 tube stations. It was convenient to travel around.

Clean and tidy and our room had been ugraded. Central location close to Kensington Gardens and tube station. However, there was a nightclub in one of the basements of a building two or three doors up from the Hotel which we could hear the music from in the early hours.

"Reasonable rate, good room, good location."

Managed to get a good rate for stay of two nights. Found hotel easily and was greeted by pleasent staff. Check in was smooth and room well appointed (if a little worn around the edges). Room had an empty mini bar type fridge for storing our drinks, which was very much appriciated in the 32 degree heat wave!. Breakfast was simple but filling. Staff pleasent and helpful throughout stay. Would recommend to a friend.

Rooms were clean, pillows flat and lumpy, beds were lumpy and springs noisy, bathroom could do with more space for toileteris, staff not that helpful regarding directions, did not have enough information as to local area. Breakfast was only continental and not much to choose from. Location good. Probably will not use again.

"Excellent"

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Troy hotel in May. The bedroom was lovely and clean and had plenty of amenities such as minifridge, hairdryer etc. Bedroom and bathroom were a good size and comfortable. Relaxed continental breakfast in the morning. Bayswater is an excellent location for the Queensway central line underground. Overall, an excellent stay in the Troy hotel.

My room was lovely and quiet although the hotel is only a few yards from the Bayswater Road. Only one bedside lamp though, two would be nice. Breakfast room was rather dull and uninteresting and there was no fruit or yogurt on offer which was a shame. (We don`t eat olives for breakfast!)

"staff friendly enough at reception, apart from surly breakfast waitress."

Non working safe, shower constantly dripping despite efforts to turn it off and shower piping hanging off the wall. Room was neat, clean and suitable for our needs. Would have been nice tohave some fresh fruit at breakfast however.
